[Q] No 60 FPS Youtube, is there a way to fix? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am on cm 12.1 and do not have access to 60 fps youtube, all 60 fps videos on youtube only show a maximum of 480p.
From what I've read 60 fps playback is something google has enabled server side not due to a youtube update.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows what it's reading to tell if the device is 60 fps capable.
The G2 hardware has to be capable and I was wondering if there is a way to force 60 fps youtube or some kind of root app or something.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I'd really like to know.

Focus Maximum FPS for video playback

I searched here an on the net and I am having difficulty determining what the maximum FPS is for video playback on this device.
I see everywhere that it records at a max of 23 FPS.
The reason for my inquiry is I am using Super to convert some files to WMV format to play on the phone. I set it at 30 FPS and the movie played back almost flawlwssly but it looked as if it was struggling when fast movements were shown on screen (blocky areas, hazing).
Does anyone know the max video playback FPS of this device?
Zune converts videos for you. Not sure FPS but they always look good to me.

If this is the same SAMOLED that is in the Captivate then the native refresh rate of the panel is 56 if I can remember correctly. Hit up the Captivate forums to double check. Just look in one of the benchmark threads.
Also in Zune Desktop software you can disable the 'automatically re-encode videos" settings if you want to do it your self.
I played back a 1.4 GB MKV (HD 720p) without any issues so the phone has the power to decode H.264 in hardware.

[Q] Camera: Always reverting settings from 60 fps to 30 fps

I've got a problem with the camera (camcorder) app. I'd always like to shoot in 60 fps but everytime the app goes to background the settings reverses to normal mode which is 30 fps. Does anyone know a workaround or something? Maybe another cam app that supports this settings and alse keeps it?

Slow motion camera issues

Hello,
I recently purchased an AXON 7 and really enjoy using it. I was in the camera app and noticed that the slow motion quality is much worse than it should be. I went to the settings to change the quality, and the option to change the quality was greyed out and stuck at 720p. I've already tried wiping the cache and resetting app settings, and nothing has worked. If anyone could help me fix this issue it would be really appreciated!
There's nothing wrong with your phone. The Axon 7 only shoots slow motion 120 FPS and 240 FPS at 720p. In the normal shooting mode, you can set the video to 60 FPS at 1080p if you want a crisper image but with less room to slow down the footage. Otherwise, that's it.

Thank you for the speedy reply! I would change the options but i can't since the drop down menu doesn't allow me to change it. Is there any other way to fix this issue?
To change the "slow motion" options, you press the fractions on the bottom left of the slow motion screen, i.e. 1/4 or 1/8. These determine how slow the 720p footage goes.
For 1080p 60 FPS, go to the regular video recording accessed by a swipe to the right, or by pressing video, on the main camera page and then press the gear cog on the top left. Then select 1080p 60FPS. You will have to slow it down yourself in a video editor but it is an overall better image.
Hope that helps.

Qhd 60fps video playback lag on youtube

Hello, I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and I want to play QHD videos at 60fps on YouTube. however when I select 1440p60fps on YouTube, the video starts lagging. There's no problem with watching Normal QHD videos or even 1080p 60fps videos on YouTube. Any fix? I really would love to watch QHD 60fps videos.
I have the latest SuperMan Rom & the iYTBP-vanced Magisk Module and i don't have any issues even with 2160P. I use the VP9 codec for max resolution of [email protected] and never any lagging at all.
Any rootless solution?

Hey man thanks for responding. Can you help me out with a solution that doesn't require me to flash a custom rom? Coz Sam Pay has become a daily driver for my transactions

Make sure your Resolution is set to WQHD i.e 1440x2560. Then restart the YouTube app.. you will see the 1440p60fps option in available videos.
yeah i did and its playing like a slow motion when i played it using the data.. when switched to wifi .. it worked well!
My wifi and mobile data has almost same bandwidth.. But I didn't try it using wifi.. Let me try it out on wifi. hopefully it works.
its not about bandwidth.. its about processing... 4g uses more cpu power than wifi.. u can try 3g too i guess it will work too
well, experienced almost the same lag but not on youtube.
a short clip downloaded from youtube, resolution 2160x3840 @60fps. the video lags a lot but the sound continues to play

Record 4k 60fps SM-950F

Hi, we all know that we can record at 4k 60 FPS
With rubberbigpepper.lgCamera and this script:
preview-size=%pref_width%x%pref_height%
video-size=%video_width%x%video_height%
camera-mode=1
cam_mode=1
cam-mode=1
video-hfr=60
preview-fps-range=60000,60000
I want to know if there anyway we can record with stock or Google camera and how we would do that.
EDIT: I found what i was looking for here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/themes/magisk-samsung-4k60-camera-mod-uhd-60-t3883816
