Just curious...I used app extractor, sent it to Google drive and installed it...shows up in side loader app (chainfires) and shows quite a few more apps than the limited playstore access the nexus player has built in. Haven't checked to see if it shows led our more apps than the web version does. Yet, was just excited it even worked
So glad this was moved to the "where threads go to die forum" X__x
I'll keep any future ideas for development of the product to myself.
Which version did you use?
How positive... Patience is a virtue.
Yeah I did this. Make sure you backup your original play store first. I thought it wood install side by side the other play store just like the YouTube app does. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the normal android tv play store back. Anyone have a titanium backup of it I could try? So far side loading the apk into the system/app folder gets it to show up, but when I launch it out just goes back to home screen.
Ever since I updated my N10 to the Nov patch, the google play store stops working --- I *can* start the play store app, look up new apps and be told about updates of existing apps, but everytime I try to install a new app and/or update an existing one the play store will crash.
My N10 is rooted and I locked it down pretty tightly using xprivacy etc. I also have titanium backup of an older play store (5.9.12 -- the current one is 5.10.30), and when I restored 5.9.12 I can resume installing new app and updating old ones, so I don't think it is an xprivacy issue (?). But play store updates itself very quickly and it gets tedious...
Does anyone else run into this problem? Solution? Thanks!
Bump: Am I the only one with this problem? It seems that restoring play store version 5.9.12 has stopped working...
I'm about to post a message on the google support forum, but first I want to see if I'm the only one affected by this (I have another phone running 4.4.2 for which the play store has stopped working as well)
I solved the problem by clearing the cache of the play store and reboot. Stupid mistake
Hi all,
I have been using this phone for a couple of months. I installed the Google services and Play store using this MIUI 8 Google installer which has been floating around the internet. My Google Play Store is up to date.
I have been quite happy with the phone except for the following issues:
(i) When I install larger files over Google Play Store, it will crash when the download is finishing. It will pop an error message saying "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped", and I am unable to get the downloads to work. The next few attempts at opening the Play Store will show the same message, but it will eventually open, but the download will fail.
(ii) Connectivity - 3G / 4G. My previous phones, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Samsung Note 4 had no such issues. They were able to connect to the network and not get dropped frequently. This affects me when I play games, and I will have lost connectivity time to time (even when in the open). I checked the network bands and my country's bands (Singapore) are compatible.
(iii) GPS - I had been playing Pokemon GO / Ingress. It does get very annoying when the messages "GPS not found" keeps popping up, especially when indoors. One soft fix is to turn Wifi on and off. I am not sure why this fix works, but I had already enabled wifi scanning even when wifi is not on.
Does anyone else here have these issues? If so, do you have any fix for them?
Thank you everyone in advance.
I suggest to you to download playstroe.apk from the internet instead of the installer of the miui..its not install the updated version of the play store..and dont forget to able playstore to run in the background in the assist manager and download google service.apk if you need more help or something talk to me
Thank you for your prompt response!
I can try reinstalling Play Store. I checked the version and it is exactly the same one as my Samsung Note 4 (which had been recently updated). There are also quite a few versions floating around and I am unsure of which one to install. As it stands, I think I will reinstall the exact same version and see how it goes. I had also installed Google Services.
But thank you for the reminder - I had already added the Play Store to my protected list for it to run in the background, but the problem still persists.
Been looking at APK mirror, and there are too many versions of Play Store.
May I check which one should be the version I should be installing?
Edit: I installed the latest versions of Play Store and Play Services from apkmirror, and the large downloads still failed.
I checked, and my Google Play store is updated by the ZTEMarket, so I assume the version is fine.
Has anyone else experienced such issues before?

Yep, I've gotten to 98% before on a 1gb file to have "Playstore has stopped" error... Very frustrating...
Ive finally manbded to install B013 - its loaded fine. Now I have a message saying "To start Android, enter your password".
I've never previously had to enter a password - I bought the phone from Ali Express.
How do you get past this ? Is there a generic password ? HELP PLEASE !!!
I installed my B13 update OTA and didn't experience the password issue, but I see that you already resolved that problem (in another thread).
I still can't get my phone to download larger files over Google Play Store and it's getting very annoying. Anything which requires WiFi to download seems to have this issue.
Anyone knows any solution to this?
EDIT: I found the solution.
Go to Apps > Google Play Store > Permissions. You will see that the Permissions for Storage is UNCHECKED. It looks like when Google Play Store is installed, it comes unchecked by default. Hopefully this will be helpful for anyone experiencing this issue.

You are welcome! Forgot to mention, simply slide the slider bar for "Storage" to "on" position.
Problems Google services, play store Axon 7 version B13
Before I had version B10 and the play store and other GOOGLE applications worked perfect, but after upgrading to version B13, the GOOGLE services that had possibly been installed by the store of aliexpress where I bought, since the google services did not originally come in the smartphones Manufactured in China, have disappeared, and even though I have reinstalled, they do not work, standing in the "checking data" field, it seems that this version is incompatible with google play services!
Anyone know how to fix this?
problem google play services
I still have not solved the problem, because when I open the play store, it keeps the message "checking data" and does not leave this message and the options of permissions are all marked "on"
Is there any specific version of google services for this model axon 7 version B13, or should any one work?
I had exactly the same as you. Purchased from Ali express. Update to build b013, if you get a password message just perform a factory reset. To install Google play store, go to the zte market (Chinese version of play store). Even though it's in Chinese it's easy to type in Google play into search then simply install. Sorted. After that works without any problems
Here you go
google play running

I entered the ZTE store and installed GOOGLE INSTALLER, which should be the installer of some tools needed to run Google services, because soon after installing it, the play store and other services like gmail, started to work, so I think it was Something that was missing to work and now is perfect!

This app shows that Google Service is ok but Google Framework is not installed. When I choose Repair, nothing happens. I downloaded and installed Google Services Framework 7.1.1 from apkmirror, but nothing has changed. Do you have Google Framework installed?
I'm on the 500GB original Shield TV. Totally stock with the latest update that came out a few days ago (although I had this same issue on the previous version as well)
In a nutshell when I go to the Play Store to install a new app or update app the D/L looks like it's about to update but the indication bar never actually downloads. It just gets stuck there indefinitely. Here are the things I have tried to fix the issue:
- clear cache in Play Store
- clear cache in Play Store Services (or google play services...whatever it's called)
-removed my Google account and logged in again
-uninstalled old version of Play Store
-uninstalled old version of Google Play Services
I have no idea what else I can try short of a complete factory reset (which i really don't want to do)
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks for all the advice!
Same problem here mate, did you get anywhere with it
Can you download the/an app directly not, through GP Store, and successfully install it?
