A few months ago I rooted my S4 and flashed Cyanogenmod as my custom rom. However, my S5 came in just 3 days ago and so I had to hand down my S4 to my mother. For whatever reason, she prefers touchwiz and hates the idea of a custom os, so she made me put touchwiz back. I did this by flashing a stock rom onto the phone, which I heard would also disable the root access. I followed the tutorial on rootmyandroid.com, using both the Odin and Rogers S4 firmware the tutorial provided, and the S4 was brought back to stock firmware. However, now my mom can't turn on Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi hotspot. Please help.
Thanks!

I recently got a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 and I rooted it with Towelroot. I am thinking about maybe trading it in for the HTC One M8 or the Note 3. With Towelroot my boot screen now has the custom logo with the lock, which I don't think they would accept for a trade in. So my question is: Is there a way to unroot my S5 without using SuperSU, because then that would disable Knox, so that everything is back to stock?

Use Odin to flash your original stock Rom which is available from www.sammobile.com or www.samsung-updates.com
I have an ROOTED AT&T variant Galaxy S5 on Kitkat (4.4.2). Lately, the OS have been freezing up a lot. So I think, it might be best to do a reset/restore to factory default, while staying on KitKat (I would like to use Xposed still and I think it is still not fully working on lollipop). This is my first Android device, so I am unsure what can I do to reset/restore the OS to factory default and reroot it. Can someone give me some instructions?
Also, looking through the AT&T Galaxy S5 Android Development forum, I noticed there are a few custom roms for the AT&T Galaxy S5. Can someone suggest one that would not be as bloaty/freezes up as much as stock? I am looking at a few of the roms on that board and I don't know what to look for.
Hi guys. I bought a Galaxy s5 g900f (aka klte) with stock touchwiz android 4.4.2. In my country, Chile, it refused to connect to any wifi. I did some research, rooted it, installed Rom Toolbox, and I wrote a script that solved the issue, which set the wifi_country_code to us.
I was having some issues with LTE and 3g data connection, so i flashed cyanogenmod 12.1, because in my experience it has solved problems on other devices before, automagically (on passion, i9300, iyokan). Then, wifi stopped working. I looked everywere about how to solve the wifi_country_code issue on CM12 or lollipop, to no avail.
I was thinking about flashing CM11, but cant find CM11 for klte. Now, i'm thinking about going back to stock 4.4.2 . Can you tell me somethig to try before going back to stock?
device: Samsung SM-g900f (klte)
Current ROM: Cyanogenmod 12.1
I want to connect to the damn wifi, so if someone knows how to solve the damn wifi_country_code issue on lollipop on S5 stock, it would be helpful.
Getting angry and shouting damn a lot won't help
Have you asked in the CM12 thread?
EDIT - Now you're on Stock LP 5.0?
Which is it?

Hello, i currently own a samsung galaxy s3. so i know alot already about installing custom rom, custom recovery kernels etc..
i once bought a samsung galaxy s5 and customized it successfully but there are times that the phone reboots randomly for no reason. and that was a hardware issue i suppose, since after i flashed and original firmware, the reboot problem hasn't gone
any heads up i need to know before i install any custom rom or so? i am planning to buy an s5 but scared to make mistakes again.
are there any apps to test the hardware issues?
Thanks and regards
Someone gave me this old phone that I'd like to turn into a simple multimedia device for my dad. This SM-G900R6 is stuck at 6.0.1.
I'm curious if there are any custom ROMs I can put on this version?
