Question for all the devs of all Z series.
Is it possible to disable/remove the home launcher and bring all apps to home screen?
I have seen in many devices recently that launchers are being removed and apps are accessed from home sceens
Edit: I meant app drawer

Simply install MIUI Launcher dude
1. Root, Xposed + Serajr Xposed module
2. Move all icons do homescreen panes
3. Hide dock
4. Dont enable "Floating button"
5. Change grid homescreen to 4x5
6. Change amount of panes
7. In Google Play settings enable "auto shortcut"
That's it!

Hi,
I am currently looking at using either LauncherPro or ADW Launcher, but I have become accustomed to using the Samsung Feeds and Updates Widget and the Samsung Buddies Now widget. Is there any way I can place these widgets onto a screen in the alternate launchers? I saw in the apps section that someone has posted all the apk files for the different apps, but it seems they're system apps and I couldn't work out if there's a way to use them.
I hope someone can help!
I just asked the same thing in the Vibrant forum -- anyone?
I am using a Samsung Epic 4G. This phone is awsome and launcher pro makes it even more awsome. You can use tw launcher and some samsung widgets with launcher pro, in a round-about kinda way, because launcher pro gives you the ability to customize dock tray icons. This method will allow you to have upto 19 home screens or just the widget you want.
Make launcher pro you default launcher. This is important since you can not change the dock tray icons in the 2 stock launchers of the phone. Tap the 'home' button
On the dock tray bar choose an icon to change. ( I chose an icon on my main dock bar. you can have upto 15 dock tray buttons in launcher pro from what I can tell)
Long press that dock button til the option appears, "Edit dock shortcut".
Choose, "Change shortcut".
Now tap the launcher pro icon that says, "Activities".
Wait, it sometimes takes awhile for the activities menu to pop up.
After it opens you can scroll down and you see Buddies Now. Expand it and tap the buddies now widget control.
You now have a dock menu button that is probably easier to access than scrolling thru screens for Buddies Now.
After I did that, I thought, maybe I could change the dock button to launch TW launcher. So, I changed the buddies now icon to the TW launcher and changed another icon to the stock launcher. Now all I do is tap the TW launcher icon and my home screen there has the buddies now widget. I only need to tap the phone's home button to take me back to launcher pro and my default home screen.
Pretty cool. Thanks Launcher Pro. Launcher Pro Plus is well worth the $2 since it allows you to size widgets.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
interesting way of doing it +1 !
The reason for this is to simplify for G2 users that miss the double tap turn off screen in other than the default launcher.
Lock Screen
It's tiny 21KB and has no ads.
For Apex Launcher
1. Install Lock Screen
2. Go to Apex Settings\Behavior Settings\Desktop double tap
3. Choose "Launch app" and choose Lock Screen.
It's about the same with other launchers that are like Apex Launcher.
There are many other apps out there that do the same thing but i found that many are little slow with turning off the screen.
Note: If you can't install it with Play Store there are alternative ways but that one should be available for everyone.
To disable the turn of animation:
The only app I know is the Xposed Framework module XBlast Tools.
I'm using it with CloudyFlex 1.4 and it's working perfectly.
Dear,
Since i'm experimentating with my homescreen and using different launchers i deleted the button just above my dock to go to all apps. currently i'm using nova launcher and i don't know how i can add the button again.
Quiet irritating as i can't go to all my apps....
U should be able to add a new shortcut to the home screen labeled app drawer and the you can put that back in the original location
Indeed you need to hold the homescreen, the pick widget and there are soms widget of nova launcher included the app drawer! Thx mate!
I was looking in to the settings from nova launcher!

Hi,
I have recently installed iLauncher which has removed the Google search bar widget from the top of the home screen. I am also aware that other launchers like nova can do this.
However, I am still unable to figure out how to remove the same google search bar that appears when I enter the app switcher (recent apps). This app switcher being what appears when you press the right hand side square button at the bottom of the screen on the home screen, where you can close the apps you have running.
I have no clue how to remove the search bar from here and it is very annoying, as it is on the switcher but not on my home screen and I do not want it on either.
I have included screenshots of my home screen and the switcher so you see what I mean.
Thanks.

It depends on the custom ROM you're running, most custom ROM's have their own settings menu to configure options that are usually not found in AOSP. You have to search there and see if there's a menu for recent apps and the option to show or hide search on recent apps should be there.
Xposed and GravityBox is always an option

I am not running a custom ROM though, just stock marshmallow with a different launcher installed.
Is there really no way to remove the search bar from recent apps?
You can do either of the above or request the launcher dev to include it. That's 3 options, just for you.
Nova Launcher allows this to be removed
If you've seen the new Google Pixel phone lately then you probably saw the outstanding looking launcher on it. If your a fan of stock Android look then you will love this, or if your also a Google Now fan.
Below I have also included a screenshot of what you will be getting. :good:
Guide:
1. Download the attached Pixel Launcher APK file
2. Download the attached Wallpaper app (required to run alongside this launcher).
3. Go to home > click Pixel Launcher > Home again > Click "always" (so it's set as the deafault launcher).
To get to the awesome new and shiny wallpaper sections and other settings within the launcher, hold down on the home screen and you will see a list of options, wallpaper brings you to the new wallpaper area exclusive to the Pixel Launcher, Widgets is the standard section, settings brings you to the settings of the launcher.
If you want the icons then you will need to download them from a different source. Sorry I cannot supply them here!
hi, i installed the two apps but i get a response ,,Unfortunately, Pixel Launcher has stopped, is there a workaround for that? thank you
