Just read this on Ars and its a pure ASOP build (even Google apps are not present) but I have high hopes

Or some one tell us how to install the Google apps along with this rom (I'm guessing the Sony guide will help install this rom). In one of the articles I read something about modem and camera not supported - does that mean their drivers are missing and they just won't work? Coz that would make this rom useless for all except developers. Ppl with more knowledge, please share thoughts.

I think the priority is that the rom is build before thinking at the Gapps
This is all great, but their build doesn't support the camera or modem.
It’s important to note that the AOSP software is not certified or intended for regular use. It’s only available for devices with an unlocked boot loader and comes with some limitations, for example, the modem and the camera are not implemented.

You can flashable gapps packs on the cm home page which should work
Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
Aah, OK, so all we really need is a flashable rom then. But that leaves the modem and camera issues. Wonder if developers can implement those from other existing roms... But it's wishful thinking on my part, coz I don't even know if that is possible.
Are there Any news?

Hello,
how to install CM11 from 9500 to my 9502 (same hardware, only diff=2 SIMs)
Install zip skips with: this is for 9500, you have a 9502.
Is there any way?

Hello, you only need to open the file updater-script (in ROM's ZIP under META-INF/com/google/android) and delete any line like the followings:
Code:
assert.getprop
getprop
abort: "This package is for"
And just leave the mount as first line, then save the file and flash ZIP.
I'm not sure that i9502 shares the same radio IC of i9500, but one thing for sure: you can use only SIM 1

The fact is that for multiSIM support the kernel (device-specific) needs additional drivers and Android needs additional libs built for that drivers, Android framework needs also to be compiled with multiSIM stuff to support a secondary SIM

sorry to revive this post..but is it possible to combine files from a i9502 rom with a CM rom to make it work?
Can't we just flash the I9502 modem(s) and kernel and then flash the I9500 CM11/12 rom and it will detect the dual sim capability?

Yep, you can't backup the DRM keys, but you won't know the difference if you follow the guide to restore DRM functions (camera etc...)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/drm-function-restore-t2995798
Note: you have to modify updater-script in the zip if you want to use with MultiROM or non-CM recovery..
They use "z3" to detect device, but actually it should be "leo"...
If someone can contact to CM team, please tell them to change it.
What are the know issues of the nightlies known so far? I know that RIL now works thanks to David_vaz, but are there any major issues or just random reboots/bugs?
No reboots whatsoever, one thing that is bothering me is I can't play YouTube in 720p & 1080p.. Other than that it's awesome.. Smooth as silk

But no other issues than that? I read something about the home button not working in some cases.. Which variant do you have ? And does YouTube work when casting to chromecast in 720/1080p ?

They choose to use "z3", because Leo was codename of HTC HD2.

Hmm oh ya the luminosity issue.. It's kinda messy but it's okay for me. The home button is working very well right here.. I haven't had any issues with the navigation bar. I have the d6653 variant.. The YouTube casting works as it should..
BTW I think you should flash this Rom with cwm recovery instead of flashing it with twrp to avoid some issues

I know, but it's just a problem for managing and they can avoid it like "leo (z3)".
Also, there is no download for HTC HD2 although there is device tree for it...
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=leo
They should use "leo" to detect device since it is codename for our device.
It will create futile confusion for devs.

I saw you installed the David Vaz CM build.. Does the flashing using CWM still apply? Or is it fixed with the official CM Nightlies?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm just trying to pinpoint the problems with it before jumping the ship and rooting.. I originally planned on waiting for either the official Lollipop build from Sony, or for the Locked Bootloader exploit to come around.. but if theres a build of CM that seems to be not too many issues with, I might jump the ship

Hopefully.. We needthis badly
It is likely they did this as so people aren't running buggy software as their daily driver. It forces you to either use a ROM with working camera and modem files, or use it with MultiROM if it is available for your device.
Does anyone know if you need the special bootloader with the recovery partition for this preview?
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
A quick look at the instruction should say what's required, but if it's a sony release it'll most likely be an .ftf but no camera or modem is a bit unfortunate.... Has anyone bothered to package this yet? Just curious to see what it's like on our devices.

Hello there, XDA!
June 29 I started porting SailfishOS to our device and I got it to boot to UI with touch working, thanks to @Mister_Magister
It's not android even though it requires CM12.1 to be installed as base.
For know It's only for D6503 model.
What's working so far:
- UI
- LCD
- Touch
- RIL (no LTE)
- WiFi
- Cellurar data
- LED Diode
- Buttons
What's not working:
- Bluetooth
- Cameras
- DASH(sensors)
What's untested:
- GPS
I would call it early alpha in this stage, but hopefully we'll get it to work
ZIPs will be released to public once everything is working, but I might PM random people from this thread if I needed testers (it would be nice to see some d6502 owners
Thanks to Mister_Magister, mal-, sledges, xperiasailors and all the #sailfish-os porters community.
