Hello, comrades!
I'm newbie in writing threads, so no rage please, just nice explanation why am I wrong. Thank you
Recently I've changed my phone to Sony Z3 Compact, which I bought on eBay and I didn't realise that my phone model was SO-02G, which means that there is different firmware and firmware developer for it. Since I used Android 5.0 for about a month on my Sony Z1, I knew that I need 5.0 on my new phone as well, but there is no such a firmware yet for my phone. Quick google search and google translate helped me in obtaining 5.0 for SO-02G. I hope my thread wil help someone and if there are any japanese speakers, that are ready to contribute to my adoptation of Google Translated text - fell free to correct me. Arigato :fingers-crossed:

Be ready to lose NFC support after this.
In order to obtain Android 5.0 and above for your SO-02G you should have:
Flashtool with all drivers ready to go
Sony Docomo Z3c itself
Sony D5803 (Z3 Compact) Nordic Customized Android Firmware that you want (5.0 and above)
USB cable (Yes, I should mention this )
15-20 minutes of your time
The guide itself:
First of all, you need to do backup of your data, because otherwise you will get an error or non-working phone. Do you want so? I doubt it.
Then you should proceed with usual flashing steps, beggining with launching Flashtool, connecting your smartphone and clicking flash button.
Select Flashmode

}
Then flash it.
After a little while your phone will start with new Android Lollipop, but after about a minute of "upgrading NFC firware" it will return an error saying that NFC is no longer avaliable and if you need to get NFC support back - you should flash Docomo firmware back and everything is going to be allright.
All firwares are avaliable at xda forum.
This topic brought to you by Neckronus adapted translation of 8wired.jp guide and if you can help to translate some more details, please do, I will greatly appreciate it.
**UPDATE 12.11.2016:
YOU MIGHT GET NFC SUPPORT AFTER FLASHING ANDROID 5 YET THE CHANCE IS TOTALLY RANDOM AND THERE IS NO EXPLANATION ON HOW IT WORKS
Hi nice guide friend
I have the same issue with my z3 it's a sol26 Japanese version with 32g of storage I also flashed a global version rom but that turned my storage to an only 16g then I downloaded the sol26 original rom still didn't flash it but its locked carrier and I am afraid of being locked
Any ideas bro?
Thanks
Just exclude "PARTITION"...
In case you flashed mistakenly, flash original device's FTF with including it.
@AndroPlus
Thank you for your reply...just one thing I wanted to ask the phone is unlocked for any operator yet I only found a carrier rom so if I flashed it would it lock the phone?

1) Don't know if you can flash LT15i on New World machines.
2) Brand doesn't matter.
3) Yes, English included (on all Arc's in the whole world)
1) mine's already on lt15i fw for root. - which is another question, did you retain root?
2) cool
3) cool
thanks, holmes

Not all regions will get the update at the same time. SE rolls out the new firmware region by region, so you have to wait a little.
Or just flash the included .ftf in the first post and change to English language (all branded stuff can be removed without root).
Can u show me which regions have this update?
i explained that i have the global generic fw mounted on my uk arc!
I think the new update will be available for all region soon!
Good afternoon:
I'm new to xda (and my English is not the best (google translate me))
My question is if I can put this firmware directly on my Arc by Flashtool.
I've tried but do not let me. I have to do something before? Gingerbreak, another firmware, etc ...
I've tried almost everything, but let me put the firmware 4.0. I tried installing the UK 3...184 and it works, but when I updated via OTA, does not work (I press the ON button, it vibrates, but does not ignite anything. After 2 hours, I give up!)
Any solution? It may be that my Arc does not support these updates?
Thanks in advance.
The new swipe keyboard is really nice (go to settings and apply predictions), no more wiggly keys.
It launched the Global Generic!?!?
I had purchased an I9502 through olx.in, last week.
Second hand.
Due to rare users, there is no dedicated thread on XDA for my device
Now, many questions arises.
I had updated to official lollipop (5.0.1), by SAMMOBILE's official ROM. After upgrading, my second SIM cant connect to network. So I revert back it to KK (4.4.2). Still the problem persists !!!!! . I couldn't use it as a dual sim phone Is PDA and CSC version is important while flashing? or we could install any PDA/CSC rom version on samsung phones? I don't know the original ROM so, I had downloaded all firmwares available at sammobile and tested. only 2 of them managed to register my SIM(first) on network. Is it a hardware issue? or by a wrong ROM ? anyway now my mobile admitted at hospital and specialized doctors have been studying his disease
Is there anyone using dual SIM without any errors?
The PDA and CSC are vital to ensure you get the right regional variant for your device. The only exception is if the phone is unlocked for use on another carrier, in which case you can use a ROM from any region. Where you have the dual SIM version however, you only have one region available to you, but with multiple Android versions. The firmware here is the latest for your device. Do a factory reset before flashing through Odin.
I am totally disappointed.
My technician said that it had lost IMEI !

Is there anyway to recover its IMEI?
I had followed all guidelines available through search.
But, I couldn't...
Please help me on this....
Flash just the modem through Odin. You can extract it from the firmware download. Sometimes the modem needs to be flashed twice before everything functions correctly.
Other than that, I'm not aware of anything else software-wise that can be done. You'll need to take the phone to Samsung themselves and have them look at it.

Thanks very much !
Worked like a charm from .242 rooted.
+1 thanks
Greetings, what is the meaning of BAL? do european countries like Portugal can use this rom? does the rom have extra operator bloatware? If not then what do you mean by costumized?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, BAL means Baltics, it's for all Baltics states generally, but you can use it right away. Did not see any customization and bloatware

It includes everything thats in stock firmware, I did not loose any of my user data, flashed it over.. 242 rooted ROM without any wipes. But anyway do it on your own risk and make a backup.
Works very well! Thank you very much!
Worked perfectly from 242. with only wipe chase and dalvik. Thanks
The only thing I miss with BAL firmware is grouped signal icon, in these firmware (signal type/activity and signal level are uplink).

Had problems with some apps that weren't compatible with my device ever since. Now with this ROM I had no issues at all. Was looking for a complete stock ROM (as for Belgium LP update keeps delaying, and I want to enjoy LP while my phone is still working
Only option (could be caused by LP in general) I think is absent is the "Wifi on location". Can anyone confirm?
greetings!
Hey guys. After some serious reverse engineering (which helped having my bootloader be unlocked) I just figured out the holy grail.
Those of you stuck on European B109 and want to flash to B126? You're covered.
Those of you with a Chinese Mate 9 and want to flash it to International? Covered. (But you'll need BL unlock to make it fully International)
In order to make the Chinese Mate 9 work fully as an international version (and vice versa) I need a backup of someone's oeminfo partition. If you have an international Mate 9 with an unlocked bootloader, or have received your code from Huawei, PLEASE SEND ME A PM ASAP!!
I will be releasing the method soon after some private testing. For now, enjoy a screenshot of European B126 running on Chinese 128G mate 9.

So European (L29) upgrade will work too?
Oh man can't wait
Thats great news....we are not so many at this moment thay own the device (mine is on the way Chinese 6g-128g)..
but when Mate 9 goes official to Europe (after 20 December) is going to be chaos...Im from Greece and the truth is that i didnt want to take European version not because of 4g-64g but because of so slowly updates that i had with Mate 8....thats why i bought Chinese version...Now when it comes im hopping everything works good and especially play store and notifications....lets wait and see....

Hi! I'm looking for a little help with my new Nokia 6.
I bought this phone on amazon, and everywhere else I looked said that it worked with Android Pay. (I got the version with amazon ads, because I figured I could always pay $50 to remove them later if I wanted).
So I got it up and running (On AT&T) and downloaded Android Pay and it tells me I can't use it on this phone because "My device is rooted, has an unlocked bootloader, or is running a custom ROM".
I just don't get it. Just to be clear this phone is right out of the box from that amazon link above, I didn't do a thing to it.
I contacted Nokia support (which was painful) and they told me that for some reason the phone isn't updating to the latest security version (It's security version is June 1st 2017). Google Play also says the phone is "uncertified". They have maintained radio silence since then.
I did a factory reset, and that didn't help anything.
Here are some screenshots in case I wasn't clear what I meant:

Hi again
I'll try and keep this post updated in case anyone else runs into this problem. I'm sending the phone off to Nokia repair. I debated just sending it back to Amazon, but I kind of want to ride this out, and I can always return it later if it can't be fixed.
Just factory reset it
And it will be OK.

Then see if OEM unlocking in Developer options is turned on, if it is, try turn it off and have the phone restarted.
