On your phone, download and install Mobileuncle Tools from the Play Store
Launch Mobile Uncle Tools. When it requests for Root Permissions, tap Grant
You should now see the Main Menu in Mobileuncle Tools
Tap Recovery Update
The app will scan your phone and list the recovery.img file you transferred to your phone earlier
Tap the recovery.img option. You should now see a dialog box asking you if you’re sure you want to flash the recovery. Tap OK
At this point, your phone may seem unresponsive. Just be patient and let the tool flash the recovery image. Once the flashing is complete, you should see another dialog box asking you to reboot to recovery, Tap OK

Guys Hi! I am Avikar, I have an intex Aqua Power HD and it as the same processor , Ram, Graphic Processor as Lava Iris X8.
I am quite disappointed by Intex for not providing any support for Custom OS.
My question is: Can I install Lava Iris X8 custom OS on to my Phone. Enclosing the comparison.
Can someone suggest something?

Aroma File Manager...
Its a file manager loads from recovery exactly like aroma installer idea ..
Just go to recovery and choose install zip and it will open...
Why I mentioned slim ROM users...
Because I like slim ROM... And because latest build has the file manager option in in the recovery
but its not functioning of course to keep it slim... I guess...
Well how to integrate into slim ROM recovery
1st… u download Aroma file manager from the original thread...HERE
2nd. create a folder named .aroma in the root Of Ur external SD card..
3rd. Copy the downloaded file into this folder rename it aromafm.zip
Sure u will need a file manager to show hidden folder...
Well that's it enjoy using it...
Make sure to download the latest version... N to thank the developer...:good:
All credits to the developer... For further information u will find screenshots n all info in the original thread...
Lol...this works in every ROM FYI...if you used TWRP, all these are in-built...so I guess this should be in the General section...sorry...

Hello. This is my first post on this forum so please correct me should i post this in the wrong cathegory or use wrong tags etc
I followed the straight-forward guide i find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
Using the recovery mode on a Samsung S5 i have the option to "Apply update from external storage" and i find the .zip file under this tab and if i try to apply the update i get the following message:
{

I've been trying this three times but i get the same error. I tried to search if other experienced the same problems but i found no similar threads.
Fyi this is on a non-rooted S5. It belonged to my grandmother which recently passed away and we are stuck trying to retrieve the photos on the device and this seemed like the best way. If there is any other way to retrieve these photos from a S5 with a pattern lock i will gladly accept any suggestions USB Debugging is obviously turned off on this phone -_-
Thank you!
You need root, a custom recovery and a terminal emulator as it seems to do this. Btw i`am sorry for your grandmother. Best is to flash a custom recovery with Odin, flash the latest superSU.zip in recovery . Reboot and install a terminal emulator from Play and follow the guide. Turn on usb debugging too.

Dear Members,
Hope you all are doing great and having a good time with your best buddy, I mean to say your smartphone.
and if anything happen to your best buddy then it feels so bad to you......
And today it happen with me. I just got find out that My #LavaIrisX8 just got hacked because of some #Kitkat #vulnerability. and having so much problem like remotely installed unwanted application, having extra Data Usage.
try to reset my phone but again same problem, then again format via Hard reset button then again this problem occur.
then I thought that now, I need to format and install a new ROM or the latest version and hopefully this Model has a official #lollipop ROM available over the #Internet. That moment I downloaded the ROM and try to install it but when I am connecting it via #SPFlashTool ,it is not detecting my phone cause most MTK device connect with #SpFlashTool without battery but this phone has Non-removable battery. search the some #XDA thread but can't find something useful. after searching some thread I find a thread which has some tips but with a little difference I tried to manage to install this new #lollipop Rom. and also find out how to connect it with #SpFlashTool in MTK Non-removable battery phones.
Requirements:
[*]Lava Iris X8 with USB Debbugging on
[*]MTK Driver Installed
[*]Lollipop ROM
[*]SP Flash Tool
How to perform this:
Download the all the essential parts from the given link and first install the MTK driver. then extract the Lava Iris X8 Lollipop firmware and it has #SPFlashTool within the Lava ROM folder.
First Switched off your Lava Iris X8
Open the #SPFlashTool folder and open (flash_tool.exe) and click on the download tab and click on (Scatter-Loading) button and select the Scatter file for This MediaTek Device. you can find the Scatter file in firmware folder.
then #SPFlashTool will load all ROM essential file and after loading the ROM click on the Download button and then connect your switched off Lava phone with pressing the Volume Down button via USB Cable. then you will see that #SPFLashTool detected your Lava Iris X8 and it is installing the #Lollipop ROM.
Once installation part complete, you will get a pop up with green Success mark. Just disconnect your phone from USB cable and click on power on button and wait for your phone to boot up. First boot will take a little more time, have a patience.
After booting up you will recognize that your is your phone is on #Official #Lollipop ROM.
Things to remember:
[*]Install the MTK VCOM mobile driver
[*]Connecting the phone with #SPFlashTool press "Volume Down" Button
