[Q] Galaxy Tab SIM card

Can any one tell me why my TAB will not recogize my valid, working SIM card from my other phone? Perhaps some setting on the TAB has to be changed?
Thanks for any info.
dude
dude i dont know. i tried the same thing. i have tmobile usa and the Galaxy Tab, along with my HTC HD2. tried the swap, no dice. saw my phone number, but would not txt, call, or receive calls. no data either.
My TAB doesn't even recognize when that the SIM is plugged in .
It keeps saying: "Please insert a SIM card". "Emergecy Calls Only".
This is going to sound really dumb but try shoving the SIM card in further. With certain brands of SIM you can get a "click" without the SIM being correctly seated in the tab. The tab will reboot if you insert a sim properly while it is on.
Problem solved! I thought that it was unlocked, but it wasn't. Followed Rothammer advise on unlocking and that worked like a charm.

I have the same problem with my SIM not being recognized. I have an AT&T Tab; unlocked [verified network is unlocked]; flashed with Rotohammer's most recent JME-Full; Baseband is I9000UGJK3; IMEI is OK; and Mobile Network is HSDPA. Interestingly, the signal strenth shows full bars, but does not recognize SIM and does not allow me to enter the Mobile Networks [grayed out] to change anything. I've tried every fix from every thread I can read here. Any thoughts anyone to get this to use voice and data?
Flash the Bell i900 modem for at&t tabs.

Phone is unlocked and gets signal but no edge data on ATT

Hi,
I unlocked my MT4g a while back using gfree and now I am going to sell it. I'm on ATT now so I went to test out the MT4G and make sure it is still unlocked but I got weird results. I get a signal with my ATT SIM card and it makes calls fine but it won't connect to data at all. If I look in the network info under settings it says the provider is ATT and the network is EDGE.
I tried turning on/off airplane mode, tried unrooting my phone and flashing a stock image but nothing has made a difference. I also tried my friends T-Mo card and it connects to EDGE and HSPA just fine using that so I'm not sure what's up with it.
I did use EDGE on this phone in the past with my ATT sim card so I have seen it working before, can anyone think of anything that could be stopping it from connecting to the EDGE data now?

Did you check your APN settings? You may need to edit the APN setting for ATT Edge network

Using 3G dongle SIM in phone for data (Galaxy S2)

Hi guys,
Was wondering if you could help with something.
I am in Bolivia at the moment and working out in a remote town with little WiFi.
The phone network ENTEL here sells '4G' dongles (hdpsa+ hupsa actually)* with unlimited data for no money at all so I picked one up. Plugged it into a computer, installed the software and it connected and works great.
However when I tried to put the SIM from my dongle in my Galaxy S2 it will not work. Just says emergency calls only and does not seem to connect to anything. I have enabled packet data and apn settings seem present.
With the same phone as a test I took a normal ENTEL sim card (not from dongle) and this connected to network and EDGE data and I was able to access websites etc over mobile internet no worries (although it costs a lot).
I'm sure none of you will be familiar with the Bolivia phone networks but perhaps on basic principals you can help. IE why doesn't my dongle simcard work in my phone for data?
Thanks so much in advance.

If it's.like it is here in Costa Rica then the SIM cards used for the data dongles are coded for just that and can't be used in phones... Mainly because usage plans.are different they won't allow anyone to use it for data on phones whose plans data plans are twice as much.
Now if that's not the case there then it's probably hardware related such as in frequencies... The dongle SIM may be for a different radio band than what you're phone can pick up
My home 3g wifi modem stopped working 6 months ago so I now use my old galaxy s as the modem. The sim is data only that's meant for a dongle / pocket wifi but it works fine. Just had to enter the virgin broadband apn and that was it. The sim is a 3g sim and the phone is unlocked.
Never tried a 4g sim though. Very good chance the 4g uses a different network frequency than the phone supports. But I would think a 4g sim should still connect to the 3g/H/Edge frequencies.

[Q] Wanamlite 1.5 network problem

i installed Wanamlite v.1.5 to my i9505 and now i have problems with the network and mobile data.
i didnt have an apn list (there is an apn list i flashed that came with the ROM but i think it did nothing or i did it wrong maybe?) i put the apn settings myself, they work fine for a little while, i can get 4g and connect and everything, but after a while it just stops, it cant even connect. also i tried removing the sim card and even without the sim card the phone shows me there is a network connection! i have 4 bars out of 6, which i think is pretty wierd.
how can i fix this ??

Via your networks settings or Google search .
Use auto registration.
Thankx all
I tried what you said and nothing worked. I found out that with SIMs from certain mobile carrier the network signal is weak and sometimes not registered. What would be the problem?
Try a different modem .
