really? I doubt it.. i'll believe it when I see it.. they say things and don't deliver.. unfortunately.
But I hope they do, the hardware is still very good... but yeah, they should have kept the mojo up to date from the start

I hope not take long to publish it. What remote control would you use on MOJO with Android TV?
I see this in ebay

My thoughts exactly. I am not going to hold my breath :silly:
I also got a reply that they are working on it but don't have a fixed release date set.
I would suggest everyone post tickets about it so the management can see we really want it.
Hopefully
Great news nonetheless, would be very happy if they finally release this!
There will be no further updates for the Mojo. I spoke with them today, senior guy, all development has stopped and nothing more will be released.

Ah, that would be unfortunate. On october 29th support still replied with: "Please be advised that we will update the MOJO in the future but at the moment we do not have a release date for the next operating system update.". It's too bad really, there would still be some life left in the device would they update the OS.

I heard some rumors flying around of a 22nd release date. Maybe this thread can organize all of that.
?
Yeah...we have all heard rumors and what not.....
Not sure there is anything we can organize or do...
Just wait until the 22nd and hope
My source at Verizon told me that via an internal email 2.0 is coming to the Eris at the end of January. They have not set a date for the release yet, but when they do, I will post an update for everyone.

Well I guess we just keep the thread open and see what happens.
I was given the Jan. 22nd date also from a Verizon Tech when I was having trouble authenticating my back in the beginning of December. She didn't say what the update would be though.

The bugfix one. There is one scheduled for the 22nd, and it won't be 2.0/2.1.

That was issued to fix one bug. The one where your phone locks up on you at the lockscreen and you have to pull the battery.
There's still one coming on the 22nd that fixes a lot of other bugs. It won't be 2.1.

rooting 2.1 with sense on eris?
i hope i'm not the only one to think of this but:
if firmware 2.1 does come out on the 22nd of january, what does this mean to all the work done rooting firmware 1.5? because i'm pretty sure the problems with rooting the eris is not necessarily with fw1.5 but the sense UI thats layered on top of 1.5
even if 2.1 does come to the eris, it'll probably be a watered down version of fw2.1 because the hardware on the eris is not really optimized for 2.1 and it'll probably have a newer tweaked sense UI built upon the code from 1.5
i hope this is not a draw back but it's something to think about
It depends on the kind of attack we end up using. If we end up attacking the linux kernel directly, I doubt there will be time to plug the holes at this point. The bootloader / updater stuff, though, might be more risky, and I've been wondering about this for a while now. Guess we just have to wait and see which attacks come to fruition.
no kernel source code
i see what you're saying but htc hasn't released the source code for the kernel. i think thats what the senior members of this forum (acidbath5546, ataranine, rigmrt, etc.) are trying to get from htc through those emails. so the method of "attack" must be something else. unless of course those Mod edit: Employees at htc decide to allow us to use our devices the way we want
i'd love to contribute but i'm soo dame busy watching hulu, they've got some great stuff over there
Really, guy?
Either way, the way we're currently attacking it is like this: we know that a vulnerability was discovered on a certain date, and patched on a date after that. Fortunately, both of these dates are well after the date that the current version shipped, meaning that the target kernel must be vulnerable. Obviously this security flaw has been patched, and will do us no good in the future, but at least it's a start in our workflow.
yep

We have been trying...and Htc is sorta hearing us...
I just got word from someone at Engadget Mobile that Htc has heard us and seen the threads and emails..
And like they did on the Hero, they will release kernel code...its just a big machine over there...so we do owe them a bit of patience..
But it is good to know they heard..
Amazing what we can do as a community!
I will update as I hear more

The update is scheduled for the first quarter of this year. Now while I can not definitively say any dates, I would expect it sometime end of January to mid February. Hopefully, this helps you.

Asus just posted on their U.S. facebook that they are currently working on getting an OTA update to 3.1!
I am really excited to be able to hook up my 360 controller. Emulations gonna be amazing.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
wait, whats this about the 360 controller?
im new to android, so im learning as i go
HC 3.1 will enable USB host for the first time and will allow for controllers to be plugged in to the devices. At the Google IO conference they had a 360 controller running their presentation on a Xoom.

In 3.1 it is promised to support variety of USB devices, including even Xbox360 wired controller (demonstrated during Google IO 2011).

We know you’re anxious about our Android 3.1 update. We’ve heard from our PM team that ASUS has already received the Android 3.1 code from Google and work has started on the update.
We will provide Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) updates for all ASUS Eee Pad tablet devices on a market by market basis. This online firmware update will include Android 3.1.

I would assume he was talking about not having to do a prolonged, staged rollout once the update is ready. Not development time.

prolonged staged rollout is pretty much because of SKU's, not cause of amount of tablets.

Hmmm hopefully we can use this as a benchmark on how long it will take for us to get updates. Obviously the Xoom got it first because that is the device google builds on but with the lack on skin on the Transformer this really will tell us how they will be.

Asus was very quick about releasing their 3.0 kernal source. Anyone have any idea what the holdup is for the official 3.1 kernal? Are there any rumors as to when we will see it made available?
DOH! Read, then type.
No idea when they will release the source to the kernel.
They're probably trying to clean-up the hack job mess that resulted from them rushing to push 3.1 out, when it comes out, it'll probably be followed with another update.

Yeah, thats my thinking too, but it's just a guess on my part.
i rather not rush them with it, im sure there a reason behind the hold up, they have been doing alot of rushing for the consumer and if there working on a better kernel i say take there time, we have rooted 3.1 and also an over clock kernel for 3.1 already

as i understand, the clock starts ticking as soon as someone asks for it. people are elligible to ask for it as soon as the binary is released.
so i guess it begs the quesion, did anyonee ask asus?

I would be surprised if a 30 day wait or needing to request something to start a clock was anything other than companies trying to weasel out of their obligations.
Hello everyone,
I have talked with Mad Catz Support the last days (Octavian Negrea, Technical/Customer Support Rep) and he told me that a new official firmware is in the works but as usual they don't have a release date yet. I asked them about the post that was written here in XDA that the company stopped the development and sent them the link to see the post, and they said that it's not true and a firmware is being developed.
That's all, maybe its nothing but just sharing the news.
Thanks for sharing information with us. Maybe they have plans for relaunching the MOJO like Razer with integrating the Ouya experience into their Forge TV. We will see.
Yep, maybe we will see, but its hopeful that they have it in their plans. Np mate
Thanks budd, hopefully they will release it soon
i am waiting for it...

What you really mean is that it's the best option for YOU. It seems so for myself also. I recommend that anyone who is interested in custom ROMs try as wide a range of them as practical before settling on what they like best. There are only four options for the MOJO; I would think that those who want to mainly stream movies might like Android TV; those wanting a desktop PC replacement should try RemixOS; OUYA gamers should probably stay stock; and we who like to customize our machines and tweak stuff will probably be happiest with CM12.1. But if you have TWRP installed, you can switch between them in a matter of minutes, once you have each one set up and have taken a Nandroid backup of each.
Guys on the Nvidia forums are talking... they have the new Amazon App. Or so they say. They're all a-holes on the forum so I don't expect any support from them, hoping the XDA fam has some info on whether this is a load of bukakke or someone actually has the apk to share.
