Hello , im new user of lg g2 and i installed diferent version of androidand kernels on my previuosly phones but with lg g2 i m little bit confused. so i need help.
I'm now on cloudy g3 lp rom with baseband M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190128.
So what i want to now, what is CAF, what is BOOTSTACK, and which BOOTLOADER goes with what BOOTSTACK AND ROM? i mean for AOSP and STOCK.
This is confuse and i dont want to mess up something.
Best regards
"CAF" is Code Aurora Forum (codeaurora.org). In this context, it means the "Android MSM" project, which is a custom Linux kernel branch for Qualcomm-based devices.
As for your other questions, see this post for most of them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/basic-stuff-t3072452

Hello everyone!
I'm currently on CM11 nightlies on my d800 and I'm a tad bit confused as to what is going on with the 4.4 kernels. What AOSP ROM's are currently using 4.4 and not the JB kernel?
Does that mean CM11 is falling behind because it's still using the JB kernel?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks a bunch!!

There is a list that usually has [4.x.x] in the Roms description: [INDEX][REPO][AIO] LG G2 - ROMs | Kernels | MODs | Recoveries [NEW-UPDATED][5.5.14]
By the way, [4.x.x] is the ANDROID ROM version (Jelly Bean, Kit Kat etc), not the KERNEL version.

I think the OP is confused.. Maybe he's trying to ask the same as i..
1- What are the AOSP ROMs that are actually using the 4.4 LG Sources?
2- We all know that PA is using the 4.4 LG Sources (at least, Houstonn has started to merge them).. So, what ROMs are using Houstonn's source code?
Anyone?

This is exactly what I'm asking! I didn't know how exactly to type it out.
I don't have a direct answer. There is the XDA Kernels, but there isn't much there.
I guess searching would be the best thing to do.
Why the worry about the kernels anyway?

Mahdi 2.5 release 1
Paranoid Android 4.3+ betas
Furnace kernel 2.2.x
Those are the only G2 ROMs/kernels that use the full 4.4.x source tree, drivers and binary blobs. You need to use the LG 4.4.x baseband with these ROMs.
All other ROMs and kernels for the G2 use the 4.4.x Android sources with the 4.2.x kernel sources, drivers, and binary blobs. You need to use either the LG 4.2.x baseband, or the 4.4.x baseband modified by dr87.
You cannot mix kernels between ROMs if they use different source trees for the kernels.
And is you use the wrong baseband for the ROM, you will lose sensors, GPS, and auto-rotate; or it will bootloop.

Only those two ROMs?
So far, yes, those are the only two.

Hello everyone,
I recently rooted my LG G2, and would like to install a custom rom on it. I have been overwhelmed with the number of the roms that i have found for the G2. Some well known roms such as CM11 and Paranoid Android, and many others. I wanted to ask for recommendations on which roms to install, and whether it's best to install an AOSP based rom or stick with a stock based rom such as Cloudyflex or the Optimus rom. I'd appreciate any help or if someone could point out the feautures and benefits of each rom. Sorry if it's a noobish question
I've tried many, both stock based and AOSP. I've decided to stick with Pardus. It's very stable and battery life is great.
Cm 11 just right from cyanogenmod site for aosp or cloudy g3 get my vote.
Dormanx kernel is good on g2 based Roma with 2.8 ghz overclock, haven't tried it on g3 Rom yet.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
Try cloudyg3 rom.. Amazing UI like g3
All apps ported from it
Amazing battery life =)
Thank you guys for your replies. I tried CM11 but would also like to try cloudyflex 2.4. It says that If I used an Aosp based rom, that I should install the KK baseband, but I don't know which baseband to use? I'm using the d802 G2 but there are multiple basebands for the d802. Does anyone know which one I should choose?

I have a d802 model and I've been using CM11 M7 no problems without flashing any different baseband
@Rashed97 I am a ls980 user currently on aosp blisspop, they are updating to a new caf kernel, unfortunately it is impossible to use the new version without the LP boot stack you created for the rest of the variants... I am willing to provide u with whatever files and info necessary to get this done...as with my brief time on the new kernel my signal and various other things were vastly improved...hope to here from you soon..
Hey guys and gals. I ordered a new G2 Sprint LGLS980 for my dad replacing his Galaxy Nexus (yeah I know about time). I want to put an AOSP 5.1 rom on it but Im new to this device. I have unlocked and installed custom recovery on many devices so im not a total noob to this. I have searched for how to do this but I cant seem to find an up to date best way to do this. Can some one help me out or point me in the right direction on the steps to take to get this done?
Also he will be using it on Sprints network so I want to use a rom that has all the Sprint LTE bands enabled. Will any of the AOSP roms work and how stable are the CAF roms? I run a CAF rom on my Nexus 5 and love how smooth it is, but its buggy at times. I would like to use a rom thats pretty stable he really doesn't need a real heavily customizable ROM either. CM12.1 would be great but I see its not on the device yet.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I'm guessing you've been going to the G2 Sprint section. Not much there, you need to go to the generic LG G2 page and then to development from there. Here's the shortcut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development
If you've got the recovery loaded, you should be ready to go. Just make sure to read the ROM requirements carefully, make sure you have the proper radio and bootstack. You'll find what you want in the link above, the most popular ROM's are mostly Cloudy for stock based, CM, BlissPop and Resurrection Remix for AOSP. I have the LS980 and the AOSP ROMs double tap to wake seems to take 5 taps, but other than that the features can't be beat. I run BlissPop now and have run 3 of Cloudy's ROMs, I like Bliss the best, just wish the DT2W could be fixed.
G3 Mm rom started rolling in Poland. Can it be ported to our phones? Do developers need MM kernel, source?
As far as i know it cant be done...just UI and apps and stuff like that
i remember reading someone saying , do g4/g3 have mm? then no, now that they have it that means it can?
same happened when lollipop was out and we were running kk, the thing is that as far as i understand, devs needs G2 source code from lg and then they will mix g2 mm with g3 mm, until the g2 dont get mm(and release that source code), then there wont be a port of the g3-g4-g28 or whatever
We don't actually get firmware ports. We get "OS" ports, or rather newer files mixed with a base firmware from the G2.
