[Q] Where to DL the S Health app? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

To cut a long story of going back to KK from Lp woe short.
After trying for ages to get S Health to stop crashing. I tried wiping cache/data and updating via Galaxy Apps.
Reading "advice" on the internet, I turned the app into a "user app" and deleted, hoping to restore it later.
But, I can't see to gain access to the full Samsung app suite, Galaxy Apps only listed the few apps that are on the phone (S Health is no longer listed obviously)
In Google Play, S Health is listed as not being compatible with my device. Its been listed as being incompatible right from the very start of this new ROM install.
Is there a way either download the S Health .apk or a full Samsung account app, that would allow to log in and get S Health?
Thank you.

[Q] Issues downloading apps from marketplace after firmware upgrade

HI all, this past weekend Kies popped up with a notification that there was a firmware upgrade for my Galaxy S. I immediately downloaded and installed it, I guess a newbie mistake. When completed I found that all my apps vanished and my settings went back to out of the box state. Though annoying I spent much of Saturday morning trying to get my phone back to where I had it before the update. The issue now though is that when I log into the market I find I am unable to download certain apps, I get to the install button on the phone then I get an error message "file not found". This is troublesome as there are a few apps that I had before the upgrade that I can no longer install, including paid apps, (examples Pandora, Pure Calendar) nor am I able to install certain new apps. I read that the market will no longer display protected content after this upgrade. I spoke to Samsung who told me to take the phone back to the Bell store. Bell told me to call Samsung as it is a firmware issue
Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone know of a solution to the problem.
Thank you

Some people suffered market problems after upgrading to the UK-released JM1 last week. Apparently Samsung has to notify Google that they released an official update, so that Google allows access to paid and copy protected apps for that firmware. It took a couple of days for everyone to see everything over here. Maybe you just have to wait a bit (?)
Same happened here in Australia.. It was fixed the next day. I called Samsung to complain about it (when it was still happening) and was told that there was nothing they could do (which seemed like rubbish to me)..
If you are updating to a unsupported (beta) fw, make sure you install a rom or replace your build.prop file with a supported fw file.
Hi my phone is a month old now, everything is stock..no mods so far..I am having multiple problems with my phone.
- I cannot download anything from Market..it starts download and then 'download unsuccessful'
- FM radio never worked for me, not even after manually tuning it.
- I am not able to use wifi..it just says 'obtaining address...'
I did a factory reset yesterday and after that I was able to download 2~3 apps from Market..but today I am facing the same issue again.
Please help me guys..
Thanks guys for the help, it turns out that the issue was exactly what you said, but maybe more to the point, my own impatience.
Thanks again

I am on the Captivate running the beta I897UCJH2 firmware. I have market issue with some apps (e.g., Asphalt 5 HD, Fandango, and G4Tv) not showing up. I tried your method of copying over the build.prop file from the official I897UCJF6 firmware release. Even rebooted after doing that. The missing apps never showed up, so I reverted back to the JH2 build.prop file. Any other suggestions to fix my issue?
P.S. - Spoke too soon. This does work. Someone suggested clearing Market cache, followed by reboot, and then installing and reinstalling a couple of apps. And that did the trick.
from what i can gather it seems to be related to a location issue, as in certain apps will not show up for some countries and other apps will, etc.
so if you load firmwares from different geographic location the market is filtering what it allows/not allows bassed on the rom firmware location.
it'll be great if we can remove that filter and have it show everything online.
the work around that i do is find and download the apps via browser, instead of market
also avoid the barcode scanner downloads, which just launches the market app

Are you saying there a site where I can get the all the apks for these missing apps downloaded by bypassing the market? I have never run across it so far. Every one of the solutions so far has the phone launching the market app at some point, which fails, as the apps are not listed or downloadable there. The apps I am talking about are all free and should be legally able to be sideloaded, but how?

[Q] Strange App

I've just tried an app from a website out of stupidity and it totally took over my phone. It just kept loading a webpage over and over until I killed the app. I'm just concerned about my Nexus and my data.
Has anyone heard of http://leviathansecurity.com and the nopermissions.apk?
Stock and unrooted.
I haven't heard of that website but I think you should uninstall that app rather than just closing it.
I downloaded a bad app as well last week but it deleted all my SD content, photos and music etc
Now I only install Apks from here on XDA and play store of course
here's link about that apk,
leviathansecurity.com/blog/archives/17-Zero-Permission-Android-Applications.html
3 functions
reads sd data,
reads what apps install and access their data
device information
then sends info via url by opening webpage to send data
its just to show how easy it is to give access to your information for apps that abuse permissions or even given none like this apk, this one is intentional to show the loop holes
I didn't realise how easy it was, rooted is evem worse

DELETE that app, make sure the apk is gone too.
When you approved side loading of apks, your good phone warned you to be careful with what you ok to install, no?
Install Lookout as well and let it do a full scan, you never know..
Leviathan security, and the no permissions app, is a test application to show how zero permission apps can still read and steal data from your phone without permissions. AFAIK it isn't malicious, just a test app to show how easy it is for 0 permission apps to steal your data. Just uninstall the APK. Thanks Peeps, It did seem legit on the site before I installed it. It's just the fact it took over my browser for a bit. The app was removed but, would there be a need to hard reset or anything like that? I'm normally rooted and have a data firewall to block anything outgoing on certain apps but, with the N4 being so good as it is I've put it off until I can no longer resist the urge.

Running list of Note 4 Sprint/Samsung bloat/apps that are safe to remove

Now that root has been established and titanium is available to use, what apps are people safely removing/freezing? My last rom was on the Note 2 so a lot has changed since then for me. I assume there's a S5 list around that we can use as a base.
Edit: The list can be found on post 3.

I will update this as I go forward.
Put this list in the OP, and then just update the OP as people contribute more safe things to install - that way people don't need to scroll through the thread to find everything and it can all be in one place.
Great work on having the initiative to start this - these are always useful especially before there's a lot roms out that already take it all out/for people who like to customize their own stock.
*Probably should just change title to
Removable Sprint/Samsung Bloatware or something since you already got started on the list

Out of paranoia, I just freeze instead of uninstalling. My $. 02.
The more I play with this rom, the more I like the multitasking features like expanding windows. Also like one handed mode.
I would love to be able to replace the notification quick settings with AOSP quick settings, and get an AOSP lockscreen, and AOSP phone and contacts. in a custom Rom
---------- Post added at 09:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:38 PM ----------
Basically get all AOSP features and keeping TouchWiz innovation.
I feel that if we could get rid of any Samsung market tracking apps, this phone would be even better!

I get that. The programs I uninstalled I have uninstalled for many devices and roms in the past. I just finally purchased the pro version of Titanium so I'm starting to freeze more and add those to the list. Once I see no problems after a few weeks I'll back them up and remove them.

I have the KLMS Agent on freeze, no issues...make sure to freeze com.sec.enterprise.knox.attestation too....
Edit: found New Registration and RCPComponets are Knox related, froze both, got hung up on Sprint splash screen, had to do a battery pull ( not 100% sure its related as I had done other things) but rebooted fine and running with both froze...

Something keeps throwing an emergency manager service error at me when I restart so let's freeze it.
Me too.
For those of you who have rooted your device and Titanium Backup can not access "Backup Folder" (can not uninstall apps), you can simply change the default backup location in the settings. Change it to something that is writable.
Since I wanted to write to the SD card I had to install the SDFix app to allow Titatium Backup to write to the SD Card where I wanted and it allowed me to uninstall apps from then there after.
I didn't have an sd card problem.
ES file explorer, and titanium backup recognized the external card right off the bat.
The only app that is acting weird is Dolphin browser refusing to let me change external sd download directories.

What does the Amazon Preloader actually preload?
Is the connections optimizer bloat? Or is there a bug in it, it keeps shutting off location services randomly. I get it may be trying to save battery live but when you over 30% over 50% and over 80% i don't see why i keep getting notices location info was turned off. I think it still "may" serve a purpose of optimizing lte over wifi if the wifi is a poor connection and i have a strong lte spot but not sure.

I did some research and found you can disable it from within the phone under settings/more networks/moble networks ... I went ahead and added it to the freeze list.
Yea i saw that also i was trying to avoid disabling it but it notifying me every so often it shut things down now i need to turn it back on to do something is annoying

Galaxy J727p removable debloating list

Putting this here in hopes of helping other J7 perx users pull the most from their battery . Thanks to Ashyx we have root on our device!! Wich makes this possible. Recovery atm is still being worked on so bootloops are no fun, figured id help everyone out, took quite the number of bootloops and several hours to come up with rebooting after every single uninstall to pin point certain apks, hopefully it is useful.
First make a backup with titanium backup!!
(The list does not rob the os of many features, but if theres something here you dont want taken out then simply look over it or restore it)
68-70 apks removed with titanium backup, lets get goin.

Do not remove dictionary.apk or device maintanance.apk, as both result in bootloops. Make sure to run the sd maid app from the playstore afterwards to clean things up!

any news my friend about more apps that can be uninstalled?
Note of advice while debloating Stock Oreo ROM for SM-J727P
All the listed apps in here just apply fine except you have to keep in place the native Email and Message apps because if you uninstall any of those the Camera app stop working properly right away https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77722457&postcount=29

I have an Oreo debloat script in my Spacesung thread. Everything without a # sign in front of it in my script is safe to remove. Additionally, it's also safe to remove Samsung experience, the theme store, and Touchwiz launcher, if you have another launcher to replace it. You can remove google videos as well, I just forgot about it. The native Samsung video player will kick in from the gallery if you do. I prefer it myself.
For those who still rock with this warrior phone.
As of this writing and latest ROM version J727PVPU7BTH1 do not uninstall the included Chrome web browser apk as it would prevent you from signing in to the Play Store account.

S Planner notifications came back from the dead

Hello all. I was disabling a few apps on my SM-T280 (no root). A little while ago I purchased a font via Samsung and was introduced to "Samsung Billing" app. After that I noticed "Samsung Music" received an update. I don't want to use it, so I uninstalled updates and cleared its data. It kept coming back, so I found out I could disable "Galaxy Apps" to fix that. So far, so good.
Storage space is at a premium on this 8GB device, so I went looking for ways to cut corners. I disabled:
Galaxy Essentials Widget
Samsung Billing
Samsung Galaxy
Samsung Push Service
S Planner
according to a detailed forum post (not for this device) on which apps can be safely disabled.
Now all my Google Calendar items are being called out by S Planner, and I can't make them stop. I've tried re-enabling the original S Planner app and clearing its data then rebooting.
A few questions:
Are there supposed to be two S Planner apps listed? One can be disabled and uncheck notifications. The other cannot.
or did Android somehow reinstall it to a new instance?
If there is a solution, do I need root? I'm willing to try again, after failing last time. I think I need to decrypt the device first.
will rooting cause me to be forever unable to get official Samsung updates? (such as a patch [hopes] for the WPA2 KRACK exploit) I did have trouble checking for updates, as "the device has been modified" or something, but all I had to do was get rid of TWRP.
This app actually woke me up in bed, so I need to kill it. Hopefully without losing all my apps & data...
I do realize that disabling those apps doesn't save any space, but keeping "Samsung Music" from updating saved quite a bit, so I went down the list, just to be thorough, potentially free up resources.
well that was quick. I figured it out... for *some* reason, I had to go into S Planner and disable notifications. yeah obvious... but I don't think I ever had to do that before... so for some reason, disabling the app caused this problem to start, so I'll leave it disabled now.
feel free to delete this thread, if it's not useful to anyone else.
