I had my G2 overheat to about 80C during a TWRP backup which caused 5 white lines to appear on the side of the screen. I had also flashed CloudyG3, but I noticed that I can no longer see 5GHz Wifi networks. I reflashed the KK baseband and it changed nothing. I also flashed the dorimanx kernel as someone suggested, but that doesn't help either. Any ideas? Is this a hardware issue?

Update: apparently its not broken because I did a full wipe and installed Echoe again, left MJ9 on it, and it seems to be working, for now anyway. -MJ5 was recommended by the developer
U2: Wifi stops working again.
I am worried that my s4 might be broken since any modem I try I don't get a stable wifi or the phone crashes when using GPS on a data connection (sometimes it works, sometimes the network drops and sometimes the phone crashes).
I was using Echoe ROM on baseband mj5 for a couple of months with no problems but lately the wifi problems started showing up and after reboots the phone would ALWAYS crash once at lockscreen (right after booting) and then it would work fine on second or third reboot. I upgraded to newer echoe but the same, so I decided to go to an AOSP rom and switched to Liquidsmooth (latest on 4.3). And I was having even bigger problems with network and slow wifi (on echoe the wifi problem was intermitent, on this it's always slow) and I didn't use to have GPS+Data network=phne crashes. So I went on the thread with all the modems and tried a few. the site http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ tells me that for my S4 i9505 on three UK the latest is I9505XXUEMK9.
All the following I tested on liquidsmooth rom and by reflashing this rom before and or after new modem flash
So I tried both XXUEMK9 and 8 but both are really bad, wifi drops and phone crashes (tried WIFI fix), then I tried I9505XXUEMJ9 without/with wifi fix and it seemed stable for about 5 minutes... then it crashed. This was on new rom flash after flashing moded, just to make sure... and it still crashed.
I used odin to flash all the modems
I use Philz Touch latest 6.something (I was on 5.something at first but changed it just to be sure)
should I try a modem that is not UK specific, is there an international one? <-- although, Im assuming XX means international so this would answer my own question.
Any help or advice is appreciated.

Hi everyone need some help with my sprint G2 LS980 model.
I was using cloudy G3 ROM 1.2 with Dorimanx kernel. I never used the wifi toggle in the status bar drop down menu, it was always ON since I installed the ROM, one fine day my brother used my phone for a day and thinking that keeping WiFi ON would drain more battery, he used the toggle. since then i started facing issues related to WiFi. when he tried turning it on later in the day, the toggle got unresponsive and then in settings, the WiFi button just said "turning on" forever. re-flashing the kernel helped once. WiFi turned on and it connected to already saved home network. but the next morning when I got up, rebooted the phone once and it was stuck at turning on.
For 2 days, I lived without any WiFi then during the weekend decided to try a few things to solve it. Initially using the wifi toggle was known to create issues in cloudy G3 1.2 so I flashed omni rom and also the 4.2.2(ZVA firmware) radio, everything worked except for wifi, there too it was stuck at turning ON. Later I flashed the ZVC tot file using the LG flash tool so phone was completely on stock 4.4.2 LG firmware but in that too WiFi is stuck at turning ON. Also factory reset after flashing tot didnt help. Also took the latest ZVD OTA and rooted again using ioroot but didn't help
any help will be appreciated guys!!

Ok, I have a LS980 that is either always Roaming or only on 2G Edge data connection........
I have been switching between zvc (stock) and zv8 roms (cm12)......requiring the respective radio/modem flash to properly boot.
The reason i've switched soo much is because I was chasing down the CM12 no GPS issue.......which I did manage to remedy by flashing to stock, then restoring my cm backup.
Ok.......so basically......I've seen this phone connect to H+, like it should, only a few times.....and for a few moments then it always ultimately disconnects and reverts me back to Edge.
I thought it was a CM12 issue......but I flashed Cloudy's G3 rom based on ZVC......and it didn't help.
I just so happen to have a second LS980 G2 for a few days........its running the Cloudy G3 ZVC based rom.....no issues.....H+ all the way like normal
Right now I have both G2's running the same ZVC rom (and I have wiped complete and .tot backed to ZVC stock, then flashed the cloudy rom on the weak signal g2)
I can literally take the sim out of the roaming/Edge only G2...put it in the other g2 and pretty much always H+ after a few seconds of booting.
So.......my basic question........would you deduce that: 1. this phone just already had weak radios inside this phone to begin with OR 2. frequent modem flashing caused a weaking/radio issue?
I've worked on probably close to over 5 G2s.......and this is the first time i've seen one with weak/bad radio inside of it and displaying this issue.
Nobody else ever had a G2 with a bad/weak radio/modem??
Your issue could be hardware related. My D802 has had a terrible GPS reception that drove me mad. No matter what ROM, even stock. They replaced some module (radio and/or GPS), now it's accurate.
Flashing *should* have no impact, on the other hand overheating issues with our G2 are known, resulting in screen damage. This may also fry a radio, I don't now.

I have a F320S and I'm having some issues with the screen. Sometimes, when I unlock (wake) the phone, the screen presents visual glitches very similar to the ones that shows when a LDG Kernel is flashed instead of a JDI, it duplicates the image and shows some white lines (see the photos on the attachments). It happens when a dirty reboot occurs too, this "visual glitches" are present in LG logo at boot, so I can deduce that the glitches are coming from kernel or hardware issues if I'm not wrong. The most part of time the screen is in perfect conditions, in fact, when I wake/lock/wake the phone several times in seconds, the glitch doesn't shows most of times. Also, I know that it isn't heat issues, due to max freq is at 1.5GHz and the device stays very cool most part of time. Is it happening on any LG G2 in general or F320 with JDI panel?

EDIT: I'm on 5.1.1 BlissPop 4.0 with RenderKernel R3, Blastgator's Hybrid Bootstack and KK Bootloader. But this happened also on stock 4.4.2 with Dorimanx Kernel for F320 (and Blastgator's TWRP too) before I moved to LP and LP Hybrid Bootstack.
Last night my phone started acting up on the recently flashed official CM13 nightly 25-3. So I tried to restore my nandroid backup of the CM12.1 version but got stuck in a bootloop. I manually reflashed CM13 but can't get internet through wifi or cellular data, wifi is off and keeps displaying "Turning on wifi" with a grayed out toggle in the on position, Data is on but there is no H or LTE displayed next to my signal. Calling and texting work fine though.
I tried going back to stock Cyanogen OS with the windows toolkit but still the same issue. Installed Chroma kernel and flashed the Marshmellow firmware but still no fix.
Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?
Edit: Data works now, it was an APN issue. Still no wifi though. And apparently Bluetooth isn't working either
