I have been looking for a customized htc magic in black. I know i could get one from rogers on ebay, but it comes preloded with some rogers applications. Orange Switzerland seems to be selling one that is totally unbranded. Does anyone know where i can find one online.
Edit: I already checked ebay and they didn't have any.
Bought mine in Mobilezone (Zürich): unbranded Black HTC. They bundle it with any existing contract of yours. However, if you buy a Rogers via eBay you can flash it to whatever you like... so why worry? Maybe I didn't get the point.
Regards,
Frank
Thanks for the website, but i don' quite understand what you mean by:

They sell the devices and add the contract. If you subsrcibed to orange and are eligible (from orange) for a new device within your contract, you will get a discount on the branded device.

@feicher
i am living in the us and i am looking for a way to buy an unlocked model from overseas

I've got an HTC Magic from Orange
Look here:

And here:

Both unbranded, the first one the Orange Version. But look out. The lady at the callcenter told me that they're selling both 288MB and 192MB versions.
And yes, it is, totally unbranded. Just HTC Stuff on it.
@Isilmalith
i looked at the site, and it is exactly what i am looking for. However, it is a tad too expensive. i was looking for one at about 450 CHF.
Do you know where i can find this phone locked but without a contract?
I have means of unlocking it myself.
Digitec is the cheapest source for a Phone without contract, there is no way to get a HTC Magic for 450.-, unless you find some at ebay or www.ricardo.ch (which is much more popular in switzerland).
Are you from switzerland?
no i am not in switzerland, in the US and it is not on ebay
I am in the same boat. I want a Magic that can be rooted and work in the US on TMOBILE. If anyone has one for sale or know where I can find one, let me know.
Hello all,
Any idea where I could pick up a HD2 T9193 model for a reasonable price? I've seen maybe two site that had them overseas and beyond the $150 for shipping, they wanted $700 for the phone. :/
Also, does anyone know who originally sold the HD2 T9193? Was it just Telstra in AU that sold it? I've been trying to dig up that info but also, haven't found any answers. Thanks in advance!
Have a look at this thread as OP had one for sale ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262393
Officially was Telstra spec handset but few were sold via different import resellers worldwide. Like you already know, prices tend to be silly for old handset while TMOUS HD2 can be had very very cheap in US region ...
ebay
you can try from ebay or amazon
Hi all
I would buy this phone and my friend is now in China and then will go to Korea.
Where better to buy? N9005 Snapdragon, Exynos or N900S N900? Chinese.
I hope that some of you advise me.
thanks
Do you know by any chance the price in different countries?

If you have LTE in your area I would recommend getting the N9005 in Korea. China doesn't offer either the N9005 or N900, they have their own variants which all lack google apps

There's a good chance of network frequency incompatibilities if you're going to use an Asian model anywhere else in the world. Not to mention the Region lock, but both can in theory be solved by flashing and rooting.
As for EU prices:
Netherlands €672
Germany €649
Belgium €649
Switzerland 749CHF/€606
(no, I have no idea why the price in the Netherlands is so ridiculously high.
Actually yes I do: It's good old-fashioned Dutch Greed.)

best thing to do always, buy the set where you live, mainly for warrantr purposes, I have taken to dealer 3 different sets in 6 years, If you get yours from china whom are you going to claim warranty if needed? think carefully, luck

buy in HK or TW, there are both N9005 or N900 internatinoal version available, I paid for my N900 32gb black 468 € and I care less about warranty because the first thing when I went home is CF auto... and now very happy about the exynos version does not have region lock or knox trigger - best Galaxy till now

Ok, that's worse.
Good thing there's no import restrictions or costs in the EU, then. Even with shipping it's cheaper to order in another country.....
For you Americans complaining about having to pay $300, that's $1133.

Got mine in Hong Kong (LTE version). Had no region lock. 820 dollars.

Do NOT buy in China, as this will be the locked Chinese version with no play store, etc... Having said that, any phone market in China will also have the HK or international version as well (9005)... so if you're friend is smart enough to be able to identify the international version and make sure he/she doesn't buy the China version, this would be a good move. Prices for import phones in China are often quite keen, but then again this comes down to your friend's negotiating power...
I've always found Samsung stuff in Korea to be more expensive than elsewhere, and a Korean colleague of mine specifically bought his S4 in HK instead of in Korea due to this...
HK probably the best bet though. Note, reason is simply that HK has no sales tax, so is always going to be cheaper than somewhere that does... HOWEVER, some countries allow you to get tax back at the airport. For example, if you buy the phone in Germany, but you don't reside there, just show the tax receipt and the phone to the tax office at the airport and you'll get something around 15% of the price back. Note not all countries do this. China doesn't. Singapore does. HK doesn't need to. I think all of the EU does (as long as you're not an EU resident).
I personally bought my N3 in Australia a couple of weeks ago for AUD 880. I then got around 80 AUD back at the airport (have forgotten exact amount but around 80 AUD) so my actual price was 800 AUD which is 565 EUR / 773 USD. Seoul airport wanted over 1,000 USD for it. HK airport wanted around 900 USD, but note these are airport prices and this was days after launch.
never buy an android device in china, you will find that the google framework/service are all missing, btw i got my n900 in hk.

You bet man, I think I will buy mine from expansys uk .. the price is like 660 euros plus 15 eurs shiping.. its the best deal I found in europe, if somenone knows a better deal please do tell!
I've been looking on amazon, ebay and various other websites for the unlockable HD870 euro model but obviously theres a severe lack of information on the model type.
For example I could find an HD870 LG 6 on ebay but there's no telling if it's Brazilian, saudi, or actually European.
For those of you that bought it online, could you provide us links please? thanks.
And it needs to be sent to Canada I suppose? I bought mine online but they won't send there.
