Facebok Audience Network ? - Mobile Ad Networks

I want to try to use facebook audience network with admob in my apps. But I don't know detailed information. Is there anyone to use facebook audience network for their apps?

Would definitely love to see what everyone has to say about this as well. Guessing from their great targeting maybe eCPMs will be even higher, but since it is so new the jury is still out on FAN.

Facebook's Audience Network does integrate with Admob

Google TOS & Data Privacy

I have a question about data privacy while using Android and/or any Google service or application. My concern was prompted after installing Google Sky last night and seeing their warning about data collection when starting up.
As a marketing professional, I don't particularly care that Google gathers anonymous data such as browsing history and so on to improve their products and services. They're a business providing employment to others, paying taxes, and contributing to our economy therefore they have both a right to, and deserve to, profit from that. But I do have a very large concern over my privacy where personalized information is concerned.
In particular, I'm talking about whether or not Google has access to my contact, calendar, email, or documents data either on the phone, or especially when synchronizing to their servers. My worry is that Google might be 'snooping' around to see my personal information.
Are my fears unfounded? Do any of you know how the OS and their services are working?
Google will gather all the data it can, including emails and contacts, from your phone, browser, chrome os or any other google product you use. Didn't you read news? Google was even sniffering all traffic from open WI-FI networks.
We can hope that this data is gathered anonymously, but I don't think so. Good thing is that me and you are not interesting to google, so they will collect data, but only use it for targeting advertisement etc.
I guess this is a strong argument for staying with WM, WP7 or even iPhone. Privacy is one of our most valuable assets, and should be protected.

No, WP7 would send all your data to Microsoft as it's all in a cloud. Dunno about iPhone, but probably same, Apple would get everything. And even if you won't be using a phone, goverment is still watching you.
So forget about it and use Android.
Hence why Im not moving to Android yet. I still just want a solution to sync my tasks, calendars at a local level, aka Outlook. Lawl.
The best way for a company to check for trends and how their product is used isn't by creating polls or questionaires of some sort. They almost all, whenever possible, use automatic and passive mechanisms. Yes, google does parse my whole mail. I remember having received a email from my collegue principal and on the ad side of Gmail reading an about about "Tired of putting up with your boss". Facebook does the same think, like many other. Thing is, would you rather have free stuff WITH custom tailored publicity or paying for something to be completly free? Google earns with publicity, and since you are in the marketing area you know better than I that trends are everything. They're just trying to make the best (for their own purposes) of us using their tech. Is it creepy? Yes it is... Will it get worse? You betcha... Just check Google's or Facebook's TOS. Google looks like an angel next to facebook's...

BBM, iMessage... what are the chances?

so since apple released whatever 'iMessage' for all apple products and its exclusive and what not, and all blackberry devices have BBM, how much do you gander android will release its own form of IM within the coming months before the release of icecream sandwich?
revamp of G-Talk... maybe? LOL that thing seriously need a big overhaul anyway.
a penny for your thoughts?
I personally like the idea of GTalk how it is now. They could just make sure its installed on every phone and maybe even put it on the first screen.
I like having it cross-platform and even available on the desktop.
Most of my friends have Android now, so more and more people are moving to GTalk.
I wish they would come out with a better desktop client though that'll do video rather than relying on the web one.
I think GTalk should be a feature they advertise more. Its already available on every Android phone, uses push for 2.2+ and works really well.
It would be cool
I would like to see google sync google talk across devices. Not sure if it could kill off SMS like everyone thinks though.

The nice thing is that it uses Jabber, so there's lots of clients out there that will support it...all with their own feature sets. So its easily cross-platform, just not always the official app.
I think iMessage is going to be hugely popular as it looks like it's built right into the normal SMS messaging application in iOS and is going to be automaticly used any time you are sending a message to another iPhone user. Once people get used to using the combined messaging app, it's going to be nearly impossible to convince iPhone users to install a 3rd party chat app.
I now think it makes sense for RIM to open up BBM to other platforms, as they have the best chance of getting people to install their app, and if they are going to lose customers to iPhones and Androids (which is clearly happening), it would be in their best interest to at least keep them as BBM users.
Frankly, Google really dropped the ball by not seeing what a big problem all of these propietary chatting protocols are going to be for alternative mobile platforms. Many people in places like Canada (where blackberry and BBM are very popular) fear switching from blackberry as it means giving up all of your BBM contacts, and it's going to be the same thing for iPhone users soon. We needed an open spec protocol like XMPP to be the dominant protocol so that anyone can make a client for any device, but there are parts of Google Talk that just don't meet what people are looking for.
Google Talk needs at least the following, in my opinion:
- Remove the ability to log out
- Delivery (and maybe read) status for messages
- Improved group chat (currently the implementation is clumsy and inconsistent)
- Improved media transfers (photos and videos, but also contacts and locations)
- Combine SMS and Google Talk applications into one messaging super app, like iMessage.
The biggest problem with Google talk is its currently not widely available on every android phone.
Google doesn't need to revamp gtalk. It just needs to make Disco the default messaging program like Apple has done with iMessage. It would need to add MMS and remove the requirement for creating groups before sending messages but I can't imaging either would be too difficult to do before ICS is released.
http://techcrunch.com/2011/05/23/google-disco-2/
Been wishing this was in gtalk since 1.6. I dont think they need to combine it with the SMS app if they keep the green circle next the contacts name when they are signed on in Gtalk.
If they updated the BB and IOS apps to work with the new Gtalk apps it could dominate. But like google maps with navigation, they reserve group chats and video chatting to the web client and android users.

+1, I totally agree with you.
It really has to be promoted. I have a lot of friends with Android devices whom doesn't even know that Gtalk exists, it's a real pain. It needs the option to login with a kind of a "PIN" maybe just like RIM has.

why use a pin though? that just creates more hassle for everyone. why not just tell them to add your gaccount which has everything integrated... your number/whatever you want to share.

Fair enough...but then are you telling me they aren't downloading any apps from the market then? And thus not optimizing the android system already? Because if they can access the market they should be able to use g chat ...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
For it to work, any message system has to integrate with the default messaging app. Otherwise, it will be a failure. Apple did get iMessage right by integrating it with the sms app and make using it automatic (without any user input to setup).
^wait, so how does the phone know if the receiver is an iOS user and that the receiver has an internet connection? For iPads, there are no phone numbers associated with the devices. So how does iMessage integrate with the SMS app?
Currently you can see if the person is on gtalk in the SMS app by a green dot next to their name. That seems perfectly fine by me.

Actually, even iPad 3G users have a phone number (it just isn't visible to the user). My guess is it will do contact matching (which will check the contact's email against itunes accounts and the phone number). The phone number will probably be automatically registered to your account when you login to your phone with your itunes account. So it isn't hard to do that simple matching.

Which sms app? I don't see any green dots (or spaces for them) in the default app, or handcent.
I'm on CM7. Is this a feature in stock roms?

Admob disabled account

Hello developers,
I don't know if i am at the right place for this but maybe there is someone that can help me.
I've been using admob for the last half year or so and was finally making some money with them. Now last week i was not able to log in to my admob account. Only this message will appear when i try to log in:
Your account has been disabled for invalid activity or repeated policy violations. Some examples include recurring manual clicks or impressions, violation of our content policies which can be found here, robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as pay-to-click, pay-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. If you have any questions or concerns about the actions we've taken, how you can appeal this decision, or invalid activity in general, you can find more information here.
I've no idea why they would disable my account? I've really NEVER clicked my own ad? How can they just disable my account without sending me a mail or something? I already searched on google, and found a lot off people with the same problem. Some of them got their account back randomly, and some of them just lost all of their money on their accounts. My account was disabled 2 days before the payout was scheduled, which would have been 500$. I feel really sick about this because after all the hard work i get nothing. Now I don't feel like getting my account back because they don't respond to any mail or appeal i send them.
I am trying some other ad networks but they dont pay as much as admob did. I running one app on Revmob (0,00 ECMP with 2000 impressions a day??) one on mmedia (about 0,25 ECPM with 2000 impressions daily) and one in appbrain (0,40 ECPM with 500 impressions). I am currently only using banner apps. I got a ECPM of 1,10 with admob.
So I would like to know which ad networks you guys are using and what their ECPM is on banner ads. Also had anyone of you experienced the same with admob and how did you handle it?
Sorry for my maybe bad english since its not my native language.

Have you solve this problem?
I heard about this issue with other mobile ad networks (some reviews here: http://topmobileadnetworks.com/), but not with AdMob
I don't know If you tried to send an email at [email protected].
Good Luck!
did your app have anything in it that could be copyrighted? Or do you think it was too many clicks?
If you violate Admob or Google policy, your account will be terminate without notice.
Please check and read all policy or you can post your app here so some one can check for you.

I think it was because there were too many clicks (not from me of course) on the day my account got disabled, i noticed a very high click trough rate (about 3 times more than other days). It was on this application: com.kortenoeverdev.zaklamp
I feel like someone wanted to get me banned or something and intentionally clicked the ad multiple times.

If your app still on Google Play, I think you get banned by fake click. You can try contact Admob, if still can not solve, better try other Ads provider.
If my Admob publisher account gets banned, what happens to my Google Developer account? Will it get banned too?
Yes they do that frequently
I has a very rare chance for your admob account to get succeeded at the first time. I tried with it more than 8 times. Most of the time they quit my account without any notice. That the nature of google. So my main advice is to go for alternate ad networks.
If you are a android developer there are many alternatives
- Tapjoy
- Airpush
- tapgage
Some of them have higher ecpm than to admob. So try them
I got the same problem too I can't take back my account. I was more lucky than you that my account only had $300. I was confused about starting a new admob account or use another one. The incident made me wonder: "should I always depend on Admob?".
So I decide to combine several Ad networks. It works. And I realize something about Admob:
Pros: It is reliable and has huge users database. Admob is backed by Google - a prestigious corporation who tracks every steps of anyone who use its service.
Cons:
- Its eCPM is low (I don't know exactly why but everytime I try another Ad network, they outperform Admob in terms of eCPM. I guess that Admob know it has advantages over competitors when it comes to reputation and users database, so It charge advertisers and publishers more)
- Its ban users more frequently. (Some of my friends' accounts got banned because Google thinks they was cheating, while infact he didn't. It was nearly impossible for him to reach Google support to recover his accounts).
after combining Admob and with Airpush, Leadbolt, StartApp, ChartBoost, I end up with Adsota - a lesser known ad network. Adsota is an has much higher eCPM, 100% fill-rate, variousa ads format, and swift payment. You can find it by googling "ads.appota".
Best of luck, mate!

Admob account closed, is it proper to register a new?

Hello,
my AdMob account has been disabled since this morning however, I have a slight suggestion where I might have violated the policies. I have read too much negative opinions about this ad network, not to mention that I have only ONE opportunity to send them an appeal email. So not only have I lost about 500$ but I dont have any chance to reinstantiate my account either. Though I dont admit the violation, the possibility that I get my account back equals zero and I dont want to bother writing the e-mail. So my question: is it legal to set up a new admob acc with another existing gmail account with the same paypal address, same name etc? So I could create a new admob id for every app I have and replace the ids with the new ones. Is it proper? Or will they shut me down again? The only thing that I found related to this, that I will never able to use the shut down admob account again.
Thank you in advance!

My account was also disabled without explanation 3 weeks ago after 2 years of activity. I didn't change anything with my applications and didn't violate policies.
Few days before, my earnings went up beacuse application was presented on TV. I guess that was the trigger to disable my account.
I sent an appeal mail three times but didn't receive reply. I'm so dissapointed because not only that they won't pay my earnings, but I also had some money left for advertising which I can't access now. I don't know how to call that but STEALING!
I wouldn't bother to set up new AdMob account because they would certainly shut it down again. I already switched to the new network.

What happens to my Google Developer account, if my Admob Publisher account gets banned? Do they ban Google developer account also?
Me too had the same problem
I have been publishing ads from Admob for few years now.
Although performance is not good as last year, when it comes to generating income, it still is the best mobile ad networks out there.
Not so best on other aspects of a healthy business relationship! Today they have closed my publisher account. When I try to login I get below message
“Your account has been disabled for invalid activity or repeated policy violations. Some examples include recurring manual clicks or impressions, violation of our content policies which can be found here, robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as pay-to-click, pay-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software.”
There is no other explanation, contact or email from Admob regarding the reason. I don’t know what wasn’t right with my site that caused my account to be closed.
As I’ve said I’ve been with them long time and as a sane person I would never jeopardise income coming from Admob with fake clicks. The only thing I think of is possible some adult content on my site. My site is community site and it is almost impossible to moderate content fast enough. I’ve to rely on automated check and reports from other users.
This shows how valuable we publishers are to Admob and Google. They just dismiss you even though you have been loyal to them long time.
I felt sad, I shouldn’t. This is business and putting all of your eggs in one basket makes you vulnerable!
Take my advice and never ever rely on one company! One day they might stab you at the back!

I don't know what is Google's definition of spam but my application or anything related to it is definitely not spam.
At least they returned me advertising funds which I didn't spent. I'm now using notification ads from Leadbolt and was started to earn five more times than with Admob but now with this new Google content policy unfortunately it won't last too long

Account Google developer
Hello
In my account I have 3 suspended apps, by miracle I'm still operational.
If I create a new account, like in your description, new pc, new credit card etc ...
1) I transfer only 5 apps, those where I earn more, and close the old account.
I would be clean again with zero suspension, correct?
2) In the passage of these apps, there is the danger that they find a problem and I close the account?
3) If they close the account, I also lose money from the payment of the previous month that should make me day 21?
Until the day 21 I'm not doing anything, not even an update, but as I understand if they check for any reason they can close the account, then wait for me to pay this month and then I try to create a new account, I transfer my app where I gain and close the old forever.
If I close the developer account, can I use the same admob account for the new developer account?
Thank you!
Yes, it is possible.
