Hey guys. Last week, I flashed an official Lollipop ROM using Odin on my SM-N9005 and it's perfect and smooth but i had a problem that when i enter the recent apps window and tap on clear all apps, it takes about a second or a second and half to clear them...Also, when i enter the task manager and tap on clear memory it takes 3~4 seconds to clear..i didnt have that problem on Kitkat and i read a topic about some users having the same probelm and they said disablimg TalkBack fixed it but i disabled it and nothing happened. Please help, Thanks in advance!
Note: I did a hard reset after flashing the rom

Hello
Android version: 2.3.3
Running stock ROM with XWKF3 with default Samsung launcher. (let me know if further info is required)
From few days GS2 has been starting to force close the system applications out of blue. Not had this issue since 3 months. Basically I would get a force close of Google services initially (pic attached) which would throw that pop up in a contionus loop. When I later check out others apps the following applications also gave me the force close error:
1. Internet (doesn't even let me see the force close error. The box appears for less than a milliseconds and closes off)
2. Email
3. Gmail
4. Messaging
5. Social Hub
6. Gtalk
7. Tasks
8. YouTube
9. Wireless will not connect and it tries to scan and later switches off automatically.
10. TW launcher (not all the time, the home screen will restart itself on a contionus loop - effect similar to when we clear through RAM from task manager.
As u can see the above apps are mostly the system apps. Specifically android apps rather than touchwiz.
Here is what I have tried:
1. Try exiting all apps and clearing the RAM through task manager. But still the above mentioned applications force close.
2. so the only way was for me to switch off and the on the device. However this does not look like a permanent solution since the problem appears again like two or three times a day.
I would also like to point out that may be the issue issue is only when the wireless and is turned on. I can't be sure here completely.
Also after I restart the device oddly everytime the device temp shows as 39° C and then cools down.
I have not rooted my device at all and also have not installed any application which does a system wide changes (oh except Samsung app update and Samsung mobile security from the Samsung app store)
Just not able to know wot is causing the problem
So could anyone please help me out to as to solve this issue? Is some kind of virus/malware being attacked? Is the device suffering from faulty hardware?
Gald to provide any further info if required.
Thanx.
Have you tried fixing permissions a lot of time that solves FC's, if not id recommend doing a full wipe.

Thanx for the reply. What does fixing permission actually mean? also would I have a risk of killing my device when doing a full wipe? would I void my warranty? is it same as doing an hard reset on Nokia phones?
sorry for so many questions, this my first android device and got to get used to troubleshooting stuff :-/
Thanx!

Fixing permissions fixes problems often associated with Force Close errors.
boot into recovery > advanced > fix permissions > reboot system now.
if fixing permissions doesn't work you should do a full wipe and you should be ok then.
I would definitely root your device if i were you most people do you can so much more, you can always "unroot" if you do need to send it for repairs and are worried about warranty.

Hello
I tried to use the fix permission options. I went to recovery mode by switching off the device and holding down the volume up key + home key + power button and releases them once the Samsung logo appeared. I got the following screen. Link:
(there was an error attaching the pic
However I cannot see the "advanced" option though :-/ help?
And now after reading your post I'm actually thinking of rooting my device. Once I have time for it. Thanx for the advice on that.
Well it looks like issue is solved. I dint get option of "fix permissions" but by accident choose the fourth option "wipe cache partition" out of curiosity. And from that day on dint have any force close issues.
Just wanted to add that i too experienced this. Fixed it with a factory reset as i didn't think of wiping cache. I was not rooted, running KI1 2.3.4.
Force Close fix??
I have the same problem, I've tried everything again the same
Hi there!
I'm having big issus the last three days with downloads from the Google Play Store on my i9505.
I was using Jamals Google Edition ROM v3, everything was fine. Then, just like before I did a wipe data/factory reset using PhilZ advanced CWM and installed v5. This was the first time I faced problems in the Google Play Store.
Apps just downloaded some kilobytes and then froze but some apps downloaded properly. Some other downloaded, froze, downloaded again and showed an error message when finished.
With a little bit of patience and some tries I could download all the apps that I needed (cancel and start the download again).
Today I updated to v6 of Jamals Google Edition ROM and the problems were still the same. I tried to clear the data and cache from Google Play Store app and restart the device but nothing fixed the problem.
So I thought maybe a complete reset the Samsungs original software could do the job. So I flashed through Odin an original ROM I have on my computer (I9505XXUBMF8_I9505OXABMF8_I9505XXUBMF8_HOME.tar).
Now problems got even bigger... I'm not able to download ANY update/app from the store. It always sais "Starting download..." and nothing happens. I also tried to clear the data/cache from Play Store app, too. Now I have no idea how to go on with this problem because I couldn't find this case on the web/other possibilities to fix the problem.
Any idea?
This happens on my I9500 also, which solved it by wiping the whole thing and started over..

Thanks for your quick respond. But what do you concretely understand by wiping "the whole thing"? I thought reinstalling a stock ROM from Samsung is most you can do to come as close as possible to a delivery status.
*edit: Now after the fresh installation of the latest stock ROM from Samsung I also did a hard reset. Downloads do start again but none of them is getting finished. Mostly they freeze at 80% progress or so.

I usually get this problem when I have too many apps in queue for download. I usually cancel most of them and let it update 2-3 at a time and eventually end up getting all of them installed. This message as the only way I could get them all done.

Jeah I thought about this as well but I can't even download one single application.
Dear,
I am using LG G2 D802 stock 4.4.2 ROM no root and no task killers/managers. I read a lot about how android handles the RAM and I found that it keeps the programs in it for easier access the next time which is good.
My problem now is when I open an app e.g. facebook it loads and when I press the home button and open another app then get back to it it loads again and many times when I press the home button the launcher loads and it takes about 2 seconds. Every time I open the settings and go to running apps I find that most of the programs are restarting.
Why are they restarting? There is plenty of RAM so no need for them to close at first. Please help
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried removing all applications other than the stock apps to see if that addresses your issue? If you boot into safe mode does it still happen? Have you wiped the phone's cache?
The problem is getting worse and All apps are restating now.

Bummer this thread didn't go anywhere. I'm trying to find answers for the same issue. A clean wipe helps for a bit, but it doesn't work for long. I've even tried a new ROM (stock based). No luck. Did you ever solve your issue?
I had this problem for a while, when I installed a custom kernel with a seemingly aggressive memory management. Switching it to 'low' instead of 'default' fixed it, but I'm not sure if my case applies here since the OP is talking about stock ROM and kernel.
Hey,
Im having a lot of problems with my S5 lately. The lag is getting out of hand.
I have done a thread about this earlier, but I'm trying with a new one, since I'm a noob.
Some examples of what I mean;
Opening the gallery apps takes 4-5 seconds
Contact application crashes (cannot answer calls sometimes)
Camera applications crashes/loads very slow (camera, snapchat, google camera)
launcher redraws itself every time i unlock it
and just overall lagging
The list goes on.
My phone is rooted, and I use TWRP recovery. I am aware that the KNOX counter is knocked.
How do I wipe the partition cache that can be found in stock recovery in TWRP? How do I factory reset the phone trough TWRP?
And, what happens to the phone when you factory reset it trough TWRP?
Yes I am a noob, but I'd like the XDA community to refrain from calling me names in the thread. Thank you in advance.
Hello everyone,
When i bought mi a1 i disabled google now couse i don't like it, amd set opera as assist app. It works(-ed) just like google now. When pressing home button for a little while opera opens in new card and i could do what i wannted. But recently i noticed that it's not working anymore for some reason i can press this home button forever and nothing is happening. It worked on nougat, and on first oreo update but i think only for little while, and then crashed (before feb update which didn't help). I'm on stock, non rooted non modified system from xiaomi. I checked few times in settings and opera always was active as assist app. I rebooted phone, cleared cache but it hasn't helped.
Can u help me please
