[Q] Help upgrading & rooting Japanese Galaxy S5 (Docomo SC-04F) - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using Japanese Galaxy S5 (Docomo SC-04F) . I have unlocked the country lock and using it in Bangladesh .
It is running on stock KitKat 4.4.2 .
Kernel version : " 3.4.0-4662270

Build version : KOT49H.SC04FFOMU1VOD2
I tried to use towleroot . But it said something like "The isn't supported now ".
Can anyone please tell me if towleroot will work or not ?
& It would be very helpful if anyone can tell me how do I upgrade my phone to stock/official Lollipop 5.*.

Finally android 5.0 came to Japanese S5 (sc-04f) from DoCoMo .
upgrade package was 1094 mb ...
Build version : LRX21T.SC04FOMU1WOEA

I am not a pro at this, i have this China Telecom SG S4 which is loaded with the company branded firmware with China Telecom splash screen and all and in addition to that it has many Chinese apps which i don't need and does not have google play etc. is there some way i can change the firmware and make it like a normal factory unlocked S4 would be? Listing below some details if they could be of any assistance.

I have the same phone/question.. Im really frusturated that no one has responded to this thread yet

I would assume it is similar to the sgh-i9505 because that is the international version. Download the app cpu-z and see if your hardware is the same as serannoltexx. If so then flash current twrp via Odin, use cf autoroot to gain for privileges then make a Nandroid and you are now safe to try flashing various s4 roms. Please know I am not an expert, s4 mini is my first android but I've been using it for a few years now.

Hi, I apologize in advance for my English . I used a translator . They appeared on the market phones Samsung Galaxy Series A XDA forum Unfortunately there is not even a chapter on A3 or A5. People in posts inquire about these phones . I have a Galaxy A3 ( SM- A300FU ) , and I admit that this phone is amazing. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find something on the Internet.
I did root thanks to some Handbook on youtube. Unfortunately, I can not find anywhere on the internet how to make a custom recovery so that I could make a backup just in case. Russia got an update this phone to test lollipop.Chciałbym android 5.0.2 and if not to the liking I would like to restore from a backup KK 4.4.4 . I do not want everything set up again after the restoration . Does anyone have this phone and could help downloading the custom recovery ?

Hi there
I also have an SM-A300FU and have tried this 5.02 ROM from Russia, but it will not update the phone because this ROM is designed for the SM-A300F model, not FU model, so Odin will not update the ROM.
We will need to wait for UK version of Lollipop 5.02 for this phone which is due out in late June 2015. This will be for the FU model which is the model supplied by Vodafone UK.
I also have not found a recovery to work, so I decided to just take a chance on the new ROM.
