Hello Fellow Forum Members,
I don't really know why i am posting this, this is not something amazing or great work its just basic stuff which is useful for people who really do not experiment with anything at all but might be needing this. So as you all must have seen all the commercials about HTC One M9 being able to connect to any speaker in any of your rooms and you being able to play music on any of those speakers. It seems that is a big selling point of M9. Now here are a few details, i am trying to keep this as simple as possible:
What are we doing ?
Upgrading Media Connect feature on M7 to that of HTC Connect of M9.
PreRequisites
HTC One M7 or M8 Almost any Sense (Lollipop 5.0.1) ROM ( Rooted or Unrooted - Does not matter) .. Have not tried on a GPE ROM .. if anyone can please try and let me know n this thread and i will update.
Harman-Kardon Omni (Omni10 or Omni20 or any other compatible) series speakers (The WiFi speakers with BlackFire Protocol ).
Problem Statement
If you have those speakers and HTC One M7 you know that Media Connect feature wont work with those speakers and you are limited to use Bluetooth connection to connect to the speakers. See the attached screenshots (ScreenShot 1)
SOLUTION
Now i searched and downloaded the HTC Connect APK the latest one and found it here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-co...htc-connect-7-01-518675-android-apk-download/
I am not attaching the APK just in case it has any copyright stuff related to it, anyhow Download and Install this and you will see that now if you tap on Media Connect the top bar shows it as HTC Connect (Screenshot 2) and now it connects to all your Blackfire / Harman Kardon speakers.
I am on T-Mobile Stock Android Lollipop non rooted (ScreenShot 3) on one of my M7. My other ones are rooted and different ROMs, including the ones with Sense 7 this works well.
Enjoy

i have a hero rom on my htc magic and everything works perfectly except the bluetooth audio,
is it possible to somehow install the original htc magic bluetooth instead of the one that comes with hero rom to get it working like before?
Bluetooth issues with Hero ROM's are a known, but they are not fixable at the moment.
So either run a ROM where it works or live with bluetooth audio not working.

Yeah a MOD should post a big sticky at the top of this forum about it, gets asked way to often, must be a bigger deal in other countries. I can do without the slow transfer rate and battery sucking feature.

Bluetooth audio is tremendously important if you spend a lot of time on the phone with bluetooth headsets. For me multitouch is one step more important. Now if only 2.0 would come out I could switch back to a rom with bluetooth!
Hello.
Before you tell me... I already searched the forum and I can see many posts about the problems with BlueTooth in the Hero based ROM's, but none of these posts I read (I could have missed some, of course) say what the problems are exactly, so I don't know if it can be a problem for me or not.
The only things that I need from BT are connection to the Parrot CK3000 handsfree on my car, and to send/receive files over BT. Ocassionally I will use the Magic as a 3G modem, but I can do it through USB if not working through BT.
Are these BT features affected by these BT problems on Hero based ROM's?
Thanks in advance.
Not sure if this applies to all hero roms but in the 'jacxheroskiv' rom the problem is a missing shared object (just a missing file in the filesystem)

Hi There
At the moment Bluetooth is problematic on all hero roms for the sapphire or otherwise. Audio head sets (wireless headphones) seem to work ok but everything else doesn't. So unfortunately your car kit won't work. (I have the same one, it pairs but the audio is garbled) File sharing on the other hand is a problem for all the androids so far (There is an app on the market that provides the functionality but it's not as elegant as it could be) so don't expect that to work on hero roms. I haven't tried Bluetooth tethering because WiFi tether works so well. Perhaps someone else could comment.
Now for the difficult part...
So far as I can tell a willing developer, correct me if I'm wrong, could make the Bluetooth work if the source code for the hero was made available (should be available in a few months if the recent release of the sapphires source code is anything to go by) There seem to be quite a number of people who need this functionality so I'm sure one of the rom cookers will get to it but unfortunately there is no way to know exactly when. For this reason I've decided to stick to the ion roms for now. In any event, Touchflo/Sense UI will be made officially available for the magics in due course...for a price of course
On another note any support financial or otherwise is greatly appreciated by the developers so if you want to encourage a particular functionality a few bucks and a friendly message will go a long way. Please remember though that the developers do this kind of thing for the love of it and provide no explicit support for their roms. Any and all risk is taken upon yourself but in most cases caveats will have been picked up by someone before hand.
Sorry if I've mentioned some things you already knew but I thought to add some info applicable to other newcomers.
Enjoy hacking!!
Thanks both.
I guess I'll have to use a non-Hero ROM then. As for the BT file transfer, I've seen at least one Cupcake ROM with it enabled and available as an option in the BT menu. I don't know what ROM it was though, I think I saw it in a Youtube video.
P.S.: I noticed that this thread was moved to "Sapphire general", sorry for put it in "development", I did it for it was related to Hero ROM's. Thanks mods for move it.
A2DP works for my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS205 - music streams flawlessly.
However, the call feature does not work - is this another common bluetooth problem with the HEROs?
I have a HD2 Running stock build ROM but with CHT 2.0 and it's an awesome phone, love the fact that it is so customisable and despite WinMo 6.5 being discontinued it lives on with huge amounts of effort being poured into developing and porting....I am seriously considering flashing a NAND android ROM onto it instead of WinMo but have one BIG Problem!
Whilst trawling the threads ( and reading a million ' thanx' posts) well deserved I might add, I cannot find any comment or info anywhere as to whether flashing the HD2 to Android retains or removes the phones SAP/RSAP connectivity I have a 2010 VAG car and it uses the RSAP protocol and to be honest it is THE best handsfree in car solution I have ever used, ( and I have used most of them) very clear with great signal retention, as I use it for business I am loathe to lose it so you can all probably see my dilemma.....great OS or great handsfree.........anyone know the answer....it would be great if it does as R/SAP support is lacking on Android.......bar a website stating RSAP for android .....coming soon....HELP!!!!

Im not too sure about the specific SAP/RSAP, but using my bt widget to my trucks bt stereo works great.
Thanks for your reply but BT is different than RSAP, its a specific VAG Group, BMW and Mercedes type of Hands free, works brilliantly but the compatibility of the latest phones is none existant other than Nokia.....that's not a direction I want to be going in as from my experience Nokias are shocking quality in the software department.
Can no one offer any advice on this, the rSAP problem with decent compatible phones is a HUGE problem across europe, covering VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, BMW And Mercedes, there are loads of people looking for an answer to this?
Thanks in advance......
Cant think of a way of saying this without sounding like im being funny and i really dont mean to be but why dont you just flash a rom and try it and if it dont work flash back to winmo you can back up before you flash. Or try an SD version. (Dont mean to sound sarcastic)

[Q] rSAP & Android @HD2
Hello @ all
Excuse my bad English.
can someone help me install these files/app in to a SD Build?
w w w . android-rsap.com/installation.html
--> Step 1: Installing System Files
Thanks in advance
-----> the solution!!!
- rename original /system/lib/libhtc_ril.so to /system/lib/libhtc_ril.orig.so
- extract libhtc_ril.new.so from rsap-install.zip and copy to /system/libhtc_ril.so
alltho this thread is already a little old I still wanted to state, that the rSAP server developed by android-rsap.com is now fully working on the HD2 with only a few devices acting weird.I had it running on a MIUI build.
my problem tho is, that after flashing back to WinMo (stock or Duttys, doesn't make a difference) the rSAP function doesn't work with the VAG Premium any longer-it never connects, or if it does with a trick, it fails soon after.sometimes it freezes the hd2, sometimes it even freezes the premium...
re-flashing, task 29, mtty all didn't help. be warned people.it can seriously mess with your phone.
Did you try to flash back to stock? I have the same problem
My RCD510 didn't find my HD2. All other bluetooth devices around my were found
As I said, I tried everything but the car never connected properly to the HD2 again ever since using this rsap app. It must have left some weird connection settings in the car unit. I wanted to do a reset on that unit to test but I never managed. Now the car is sold and this thread obsolete until someone else comes up with this. Subject finished.

Hi All,
I bought a new car this weekend (fiat 500) and it came with the Microsoft Blue&Me Bluetooth connection. When I first got the car, I was running an CM9 build and the SMS reader wouldn't work so I went back to the rooted stock rom and it still didn't work. The phone connects, pulls my contacts, and works remarkably well to make and receive calls.
According from a list from Fiat, not many phones are compatible with with the SMS system (not even iPhone!). It looks like an old list but the only htc phone that it says is compatible is the Desire. I was thinking I might be able to get it to work with a Desire rom but I am having trouble finding one. I get too many results when I search the development forum because many of the older sense roms are ports from the desire but not the desire rom (for example, the revolution rom is a port of the sensation xl rom for desire).
Does anybody know of a desire rom offhand? I was thinking there might be one available from the old days when people wanted to upgrade from the stock mysense rom.
It is a long shot but does anyone know of a ROM that will work with the Microsoft in car system?
Thanks!
Rich
Hello Everyone!
I could not post on the developer thread so putting it up here. I flashed the zip file that was shared on this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2807178) and to be honest I just loved the visual improvements that google have done in the L version. However, I found some issues which I need to know whether are resolved or not. If it happens to be posted somewhere else, please direct me to the thread.
Bluetooth Connectivity: I drive a lot with my phone connected to the car all the time. After flashing the ROM, I found that there was no option for phone audio in the bluetooth connection settings. Therefore, I was able to control the music player (since media playback option was there) from the car console but I could not access any calling functions/phonebook/recent calls, etc. from there. Has this issue been fixed? If not then I might have to go back to stock KitKat with Xposed which I was using earlier.
Regards
Me Too
I have found the same problem. It would be great to know if there is a workaround!
