I337M Only booting into recovery mode. Download Mode wont work. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello! I'm attempting to fix my cousins phone, but have hit a little bump in the road and need some help.
So the issue with the device is that it only boots into recovery mode, my cousin says she was "Installing an update" and it happened. It was running stock firmware at the time, I have no idea what version, assuming 4.4.4.
So I looked at this thread and followed the steps until I got to the "Go into Download mode" step. No matter how many times I attempt to do this, the device will not boot into download mode. So I attempted going into download mode using Adb, but my computer wont even recognize the device. I also have the USB drivers for the device.
I'm really confused about the situation, all the help I can get will be great.

Did you hold the vol down + home button first before holding the power button?

Bricked vs980 can't access recovery or download mode

I have the latest TWRP installed. Flashed CloudyFlex 1.3 and noticed that if my phone was in a 3g area, it showed I was roaming. I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647122 and flashed the vs980 flash zip. Can't get the phone to boot. It shows the LG screen and then it fades away to black and nothing. Tried getting into download mode but it won't do anything. Tried booting into recovery and it won't go. Any help is appreciated, but it seems hopeless at this point..
Update: Interestingly enough, there's hope. For some reason, the usual way for entering download mode didn't work (hold volume up and plug in USB) I was able to enter download mode by plugging phone in first, then holding volume up and power. At this point the download process is stuck at 0%. If I get this thing unbricked I'll keep posting updates as to how
if u got it into download mode then this should work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960

Downloading the tot file now. It'll take about an hour to download. Thanks!
Phew...it worked!
It's odd that I couldn't get into download mode holding volume + then plug in USB. It works everytime if I plug in phone first, then hold volume+ and power. I see LG screen first like normal bootup, but if I continue to hold volume+ and power, it switches over to download mode.

I'm having the same issue. I can't get my phone into download mode or recovery mode. I tried to plugging in the phone first and hold down vol + and power. But still nothing happens, the red notification light blinks when I continue to hold the buttons down. Can you help me out with this?

So. I messed up in TWRP pretty badly.

I originally posted this in general and then saw the sticky saying your not supposed to post questions there. Sorry for the double post.
I'm selling my G2 on ebay. It sold. I rebooted to TWRP and did a wipe on everything, including the internal storage, so I could follow WALTCOs guide to uproot and flash stock. Now when it reboots, all that comes up is the LG flash, but no bootloader, nothing. I can only assume that I wiped the rom, recovery, and EVER THING off the phone.
I'm a little terrified. Did I brick it? Is there anything I can do at this point?
Can you get into download mode?
I had a similar problem a couple of days ago - but while the phone was connected to the laptop I noticed that by holding the power and volume up button I could get the phone into the download mode -(the LG logo appears but keep holding the buttons down and hopefully download mode will appear) I then followed the instructions in the below thread and return it to stock - lost root but still has TWRP.

Hmm...holding power and volume up, it says download mode started and flashes to a dog window saying fast boot started. Is this download mode? When I connect it to my computer, lg flash tool can't read the phone info, mentions the port. I checked in device manager and it's listed as an ADB device but I can't see orly change the port.
If you're in fastboot then download mode failed to load.
fastboot is an interface which is somewhat similar to adb.
You can try flashing working images to your phone through it to fix download mode.
It's pretty easy to brick your phone like that though so be careful.
any luck getting it to work? i don't hold down the power button on my phone to do this. turn the phone all the way off. hold down the power until after the the brief flash off the splash screen logo. that way, it is all the way off and not rebooting. now, hold down the volume up button only, then plug in the usb cable. that should do it.

Note N900w8 Stuck

Hi, so the problems I am experiencing are that I tried to install Resurrection Remix ROM for my phone. I do not know where my idiot brain messed up along the way, but I installed ROM Manager on my phone, and then pressed backup current ROM, which immediately set the phone to be booting in Recovery Mode, but unfortunately wont be detected my phone. The error code is the following:
RECOVERY BOOTING:
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDRIOD ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
I tried pushing the VOLUME DOWN + POWER and the HOME buttons together to open Odin mode, but this is just stuck, as nothing happens in that mode. After several hours of trying to figure this out by myself, a frustrated me decided to come here to see if the community could help me out. Does anyone have any ideas? I really cannot afford a new phone right now :crying:
Flash twrp in odin mode.

Do you have access to a USB jig to try and force download mode?
Before pressing vol down, home, and power, is the phone powered off? What do you mean nothing happens? The phone won't power on?
Fixed, thank you for your help

What I did to solve the issue was flash a stock Andriod 4.4.2 tar file from Odin. The computer would not recognize the device sometimes, however, I did manage to get it through. After that I managed to get everything figured out and get Reserruction Remix ROM on my phone. Thank you for your guys help!

HELP! S8 won't boot after updating TWRP

I updated TWRP to 3.1.1.2 inside TWRP. The issue I encounter now is that my S8 stucks on the very first booting screen. You know the very first screen where it stated "Samsung Galaxy S8" and down below "powered by android".
I can't do anything. It's just like the phone has frozen at that state. Nothing works anymore. Even If I try to turn it off by pressing Volume down + Bixby + power button, it just restart and get stucks at the boot screen again and again. There's NO boot loop.
I'm on europe version of the Galaxy S8
stock rom and rooted (Magisk)
Got TWRP installed but after updating TWRP the phone freeze at the very first booting screen.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks for your efforts!
First of all - make sure you have the correct TWRP for your device. I know for myself that by searching google I got the S8+ twrp at first and flashed it by mistake without noticing.
Then try this-
Connect your device to a power socket (pc or wall, doesn't matter)
When you are on the very first screen, turn off the device by pressing Power + Volume down. Your device will shut down and you will see the charging animation.
Once you see it, disconnect the device from the USB and try one of the following:
Power + Volume up + Bixby for recovery mode
or
Power +Volume down + Bixby for download mode
I think the download mode will work, then just flash a stock rom or the correct recovery and try again
I failed right at the second step. Once I connect my S8 to power socket and tried to turn of the device by pressing Volume down + Power, the device turnt off for about 2 seconds and then reboot again to the very first screen. Even if my S8 is on power socket, I do not see the charging animation. So that is why I cannot continue with step 3.
Any Ideas buddy?
EDIT:
I got it enter the download mode
I downloaded the TWRP img from here https://eu.dl.twrp.me/dreamlte/
After enter the download mode, I flash TWRP via odin. It passed via Odin but my S8 doesn't enter TWRP but instead stuck at the very first boot screen.
Any ideas, buddy?
EDIT:
I've solved it myself. Thanks for your efforts!
I got the exact same problem but how did u do it please help me
Hi I just got the exact same problem as you but I cannot get how I would fix it please help???
Edit: I got it to download mode but I do nut understand how I would flash it
The only way around this I found was to Odin back to stock https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/development/rom-galaxy-s8-t3749444
Then follow the instructions to reinstall twrp using odin https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-s8-exynos-t3847712/post77735501#post77735501

Instantly reboots after booting into recovery

I installed LineageOS 14.1 but I was having some blue screens so I decided to go back to stock ROM but I had a brainfart and rebooted after wiping everything except microSD, and now I can't boot my phone normaly, nor enter recovery mode or download mode.
What is happening with TWRP recovery mode is that it seems to load properly but then it doesn't give me options or anything it just starts formatting cache or something for like 2 seconds and then just tries to reboot normally, but there's no OS so it just gives me a blue screen(im not at home right now but im panicking, i will upload a video for better understanding in a couple hours).
And with download mode it just stays on the charging screen.
Did I just brick my ****ing phone? Im on the verge of tears, I have been watching videos and reading for the past 2 hours and nothing seems to help

To boot into download mode, you must first turn it off then connect your phone to pc and then long press power up button.
As with the twrp formatting cache or something like that, you must have downloaded a buggy version. For now, if you have a pc nearby try to boot into twrp with adb.

Download mode still isn't working with the computer im trying, are you saying I just have to turn it off, plug it into the pc(charging screen appears), and just hold power button alone until I get to DL mode? Does my computer need a specific driver already installed for this?
And how would I go about giving my phone commands with adb if I can't boot it into anything? Should my pc recognize the device and be able to use adb when it's in the blue "Subsystem Crash" screen, or maybe when in the first 2 screens before booting into recovery where you have to press "Yes" twice, or when? Maybe when it's charging?
Thanks a lot for the help

Yes, you need to turn off your phone and plug the usb cable in your phone while holding volume up button until it goes into download mode( you must connect it to a pc or laptop). Also, you don't need specific drivers for that.
To boot into twrp with adb, you must first boot into os, or boot into twrp with hardware keys, assuming you can't do any of these then your only option is flashing a new kdz via download mode.
Edit: You need adb drivers installed on your pc if you're going to use adb commands on your pc.
