I was searching relentlessly for a way to make this xmodgames app work on my tmobile galaxy s6 edge, but i couldnt find anything untill i came across this!.
This was originally intended to fix a problem with the galaxy s4. But works flawlessly with the galaxy s6 edge as well.
----Make sure your Device is Rooted!---
I used the most recent PingPongRoot method. From this thread.
This method listed below should work for any version of lolipop but ive only tested this method on a galaxy s6 edge with 5.0.2
Hope this helps all the people in need of their xmodgames again.
Samsung Enforcing Devices for 5.0.2 Lollipop
Install xmodgames and launch once.
1. Clear Data of XmodGames→{settings/applications_manger/xmod}
2.Download (Lucky Patcher)
~ Download, install,...use it to CONVERT xmod to SYSTEM (click tools then "Move to system/app")
3. Reboot device, Launch XMOD, grant root, install mods, but DO NOT launch any of the games.
4. Go to settings/application_manger/all/xmod ~ Clear Data then reboot your device
5. Launch XMod and try if it works now.
Enjoy ?

Ping pong root does not trip knox
I understand that ping-pong doesn't trip knox. But does modifying the system to make xmod a system app trip knox?
Thanks.

Thanks, and did you get xmodgames to work by moving it to system apps with lucky patches etc?

Yes you can root it but you will trip knox to 0x1 from 0x0 meaning you lose warranty in some countries, the UK for certain

I havent rooted yet amd im still on 4.3. Which is the best method to root without tripping? I just tried Kingo and it gave me a prompt about voiding warranty so i didnt go ahead. However, i was told that kingo does it fine with 4.3 and doesn't trip knox. So now i'm left conused :/
Yeah I was gonna try kings but read a bit 1st on there Facebook page they say kit kat 4.4.2 not supported! So gonna have to read up to do it manually fc-auto root looks OK but I need to know before I dive in and go ahead with it!

Just to clarify, you can unroot but you can't reset Knox warranty void to 0x0...
If you are on KK then make sure you use the LATEST cf-autoroot or you will get a soft brick... If you use ODIN 3.09 you put the cf-autoroot file in AP, if you use any lower then put the file in PDA...
Cheers don't suppose you got the fc-auto root link not sure if you can put up a link in here cheers

From what people say. There is an e-fuse for the knox switch. Once you Flash, the switch goes from 0x0 to 0x1. The e-fuse apparently cannot be reset.
But there has been instances where rooting has not toggled the knox switch

On newer bootloader, if I m not wrong mj3 nd above on n9005, confirm it will trip. No possibilities for not triggering knox 0x1.
I have tried on several devices.

Just wondering if anyone would prefer one over the other IFF CF ends up making a Auto-Root for the S5/Active.
The exploit towelroot uses to gain root access is already patched (fixed), so towelroot won't last as long as CF-Auto-Root does.
Despite that most (if not all) will favor towelroot for not triggering KNOX (knox on wood).
Good points! I'm curious how towelroot accomplished not tripping it

Too bad about KNOX, though ;-(
yeah, im waiting for someone to come up with some different methods of rooting for us. Some people are having issues with TR.
Hi Guys,
I have a new Note 3 (SM-9005) and wanted a definitive answer about triggering KNOX 0x1.
Is it possible for me to root without triggering KNOX?
I am not bothered about Custom ROMS at the moment or Recoveries. Just want ROOT.
My FW\SW details are;
AP: N9005XXUFNF4
CP: N9005XXUFNF2
CSC: N9005OXAFNF4
Any help greatly appreciated.

You can't root whithout pc,there are no root apps for S4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292615
What did you use to try and root? Because Odin on the PC, the original cable for the S4, and CF-Autoroot should have this device rooted in about a minute. Be aware though that CF-Autoroot will trip the Knox flag.

Sure they work. They also work on the S4. Just NOT on your firmware. You need an older firmware (or kernel) for it to work.
