I am having weird problems getting this to work. Last week I messed up my usb port on my phone. GPS has always worked fine on my phone. I've been using the Telus server for months. I got a new XV6800 from Verizon and put the same version rom and radio that I had on the original one with all the same software. I did the aGPS fix and now it doesn't work. On my original phone as soon as something would access the gps hardware it would make a data connection or activate the connection if it was already there. This phone doesn't make a data connection at all. No matter what I do it will not make a data connection. Made the registry and QPST settings exactly the same as the original phone. I even put my battery in the original phone and ran a gps tool and it tried to make a data connection. What could be going on here??? I am out of ideas.
Can you get a data connection with IE. If not you need to do a hard reset and then try again.
My friend had an XV6800 AND got a new one from Verizon a week before me and has the same exact problem. Yeah, I can get a data connection fine with IE. GPS just doesn't initiate a connection anymore on this phone. Its like it doesn't even try to use agps. The only differences I could find are these. Not sure if this matters:
New Phone
PRL Version: 51433
PRI Version: 2.03_002
Old Phone
PRL Version: 51345
PRI Version: 1.35_002
Are you running the stock MR1 or MR2 rom
Nope, using the same rom and radio that I used all along on the old phone.
DCD 3.2.6
Radio 3.42.30
isn't there a verision cab file you have to run to fill in the network and password info to access the data network?

I never said I was having an issue with a data connection at all. I fixed the issue already. The new rom that the phone came with had a PRI version that blocked GPS. I had to flash an older Verizon radio and rom and then flash the new radio and dcd rom to fix it. Phone is fine now.
I just flashed my Sprint Mogul 6800 with wm6.5 build 21501. Google maps worked perfect yesterday. Today google maps can't find a gps and tries to connect with the internet sharing connection I setup last night. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

From what I've read in the Upgrading section even if it came with MR1 or MR2 you must first flash to a stock Verizon ROM that is PRE MR1, then flash your custom ROM, then set up your aGPS settings in QPST and then it should work fine again.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: It may be a pre-GPS (no GPS support) Verizon ROM that you need to flash with. I don't have Verizon so I am no 100% sure.

Np. Thanks anyway.
Don't know if it helps in this case... But I had the same problem today... I used my GPS 2 days ago and then for seemingly no reason I could not get a lock today. I soft and hard reset 3 times with no luck. About 30min later I remembered that I installed one of those stealth programs (in case you lose or get you phone stolen you can sms your phone and it will send you the GPS coords of where it is) so I uninstalled it and Voila! I had a lock in seconds. Is it possible that you are getting a compatibility issue with a program that you thought nothing of at the time of install?
Just a thought, hope it helps
What program were you using??

Not sure if you were asking me, but if so it was Smart Phone Tracker 1.37.0.0
I am having similar issues.
The GPS will lock... but takes forever and is not using data to do it.
I have checked and double checked everything, but its exactly as the wiki says it should be.

I think the problem is because of updating the rom without clean install... Maybe a clean install will fix everything...

The problem is pure firmware problem. Just update to the latest or flash a custom firmware...
Disable Samsung Account Sync & Backup.
Hey all, i got this serious problem.
I've flashed most of the cutom roms right after buying the phone but at some moment i decided i wanted to return to stock again as the phone was behaving weird. I did, was a TNL 4.3 dutch stock rom. After some months i began to encounter no reception problems, it first started once a week for a whole day then it was 3 days problems 1 day reception. I then decided to flash a new 4.4 custom rom to see if it solves the issue but it didnt, i tried to flash a 4.3 rom and then the no sound/black screen/ phone dialer freezes started to occur. I flashed the 4.4 UFNA1 modem, it still persists, i flashed the nightly 4.4 rom and reflashed the UFNA1 modem twice (which was done correctly) and i still have no sound etc... What am i doing wrong here? I feel terrible as i also have no warranty left ofcourse.. Btw. I tried flashing to several stock roms by ODIN which coused the program to freeze and the phone went into a bootloop, which could be fixed by just flashing a custom recovery, and after that ofcourse a custom rom.. Very strange! Someone has an idea??
thanks

There's only this thing, which i can't test atm, but the sim reception problem i talked about, will that be fixed too?? That's the biggest issue and iv've read a lot about it on the net, nobody could seem to fix it. Lots of em said it was an internal error which got fixed by their warranty (they say they got new phones, up till 3 times..) They tried replacing sim/sd bay which didn't solve a thing. Anyone else experiencing this problem and got it fixed??
thanks

Hey, didn't i just flash a modem? Which fixed the sound/freeze bug etc? What if i reflash another (4.3) one and get that old problem again? (im on 4.4.2) I tried selected gsm/lte/wcdma settings manually, the phone was totally dead. My little brother who owns exactly the same phone and carrier (tmobile) have had 0 problems with his phone, he never touched it though and only recently upgraded to 4.3 by KIES. I tried switching out sim cards and my card worked on his phone, but his card didn't work on mine.

I'm having this reception problem ever since I got this phone from my friend overseas I tried everything flash stock ROM ,change modems, flash custom roms and still no signal I tried different Sim cards also, I'm guessing maybe something is wrong with the main board? So I just gave up and started using it as a media phone alone
Sorry I'm a noon, don't do all those font sizes and colours and pictures aha but basically... I've been on CyanogenMod for about a year now and have never had WiFi issues. Been using cm12 nightlies for most of this year with no problem however, after updating my nightly the past two days I've been experiencing WiFi Drops happening every min and a half or so. So annoying. I've used Wifix apps etc, no luck. I've reverted to old night lies I used to run without any problems however the problem stays. I've consider flashing back to TouchWiz to see if that helps it but I really don't want to
Can someone please help me. My phone is on contract and my bill is overdue so I won't have mobile data until it's cleared (around June) so if I don't have WiFi, I'm screwed.

Have you tried flashing a new modem? This generally fixes wifi (and sound issues if there are any)
I barely know what a modem is haha but if that's the case, I'll try today.
Here you have a list of modems. Read the topic as it also has some info and the flashing guide.
You need to go to sammobile firmware checker and input your phone model, country and carrier. Then it will show you the correct firmware for your country and carrier. Based on that, download the modem. Make sure you get the latest modem. If you can't find the latest modem on the linked thread, there was another thread with all the latest modems, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I'm on 5.02 CM12, I downloaded the latest modem for my GT-I9505 which matched the firmware code for a 4.4.2 S4 however still no luck ffs. This is really annoying, i don't know how my WiFi could jist shut off on me like that :/. Looks like I'm going to have to buy myself a new phone then. Can't use my mobile data for a couple months as my carrier has blocked me until I pay off my bill and now with my wifi disconnecting every 2 mins, I basically cannot use the internet. So frustrated.
I've flashed new nightlies, changed baseband versions, factory reset my phone and still no luck. What makes things worse is i cannot see any other threads with people in my postition so help is so minimal :/. Annoyed is an understatement.

If you updated bootloader then you can't go back to kitkat roms. Only the 5.0 lollipop roms. But Samsung hasn't released the official update in all countries.
If it still doesn't work, even with official firmware, then it might be hardware related. Maybe even your wifi router.

Hi, i'm going to flash lollipop touchwiz onto my phone using this http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/android-5-...-s4-lte-how-manually-install-via-odin-1492230.
Anything i should know/do before doing this?
Did you flash an alternate kernel?
Wifi issues are often kernel related. Not always...but often.
So I know this is a weird issue. I've done my research and tested way too many times before posting this up
OK, so the problem is that I can't send or receive MMS on my LTE network. Also, I believe this causes me to have problems with my GPS as it sometimes it can be detected and sometimes it won't.
The steps I've taken to rectify the problem:
1. Completely unrooted phone and flashed stock firmware from sammobile.com.
2. Checked if MMS and maps were working on the stock firmware and they were. I checked the USSD code using *#1234# in the dialer and it was working.
3. Done the rooting process and flashed new recovery and new ROM.
4. Tried to send MMS and issue persisted again. Also, when I send the MMS it disconnects my LTE and stays disconnected till I reconnect again.
5. I checked the USSD again and it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
6. I have flashed so many different modems and bootloaders and the problem is still there. Unless I unroot and stick to my network provided ROM.
7. I checked APN settings, manually set new ones up using the network APN settings and still nothing.
What is the problem here? Is it my phone? A hardware issue? WHAT THE..

As far as I can tell, we're both having the same issue with MMS.
I recently tried various things, including a fresh ROM re-install (with everything wiped) : with the stock ROM, MMS are working fine but with anything CM 12.1 based, they aren't (unless I'm connected to WiFi, as I explained in my post, which points to a data connection management issue).
I also tried the latest modem available (CM 12.1 based roms were using XXUDOC5, I'm now on XXUDOF2), to no avail.
Have a nice day all

As that rom is based on this rom, search this thread for anything related to mms. If it works on wifi then it's 100% a wrong apn setting or maybe a bug.

It's definitely a bug. I've already tried everything to do with my providers APN. I installed so many modems as well no luck whatever. I'm pretty sure is an easy, small script that is an easy fix for a developer =/

I don't think the fix is that easy for them because there are already a few patches applied in the past for MMS. Your best bet would still be to search that thread I gave you and see if someone came up with a fix.

Thanks a lot, the fix was in there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lucard24-s-t3066696/post62511742#post62511742
I'm still wondering why that fix that's been added in CM 12.1 since august wasn't in our "custom" CM 12.1 roms but still... IT WORKS !
Have a nice day !
