Bro,
Had some doubts before i flash:
1) You mentioned do clean wipe and flash that ROM. Do i need to install stock recovery and stock kernel before that? I have custom recovery (CWM) installed right now.
2) After installing your this ROM will my phone be official, unrooted? Will i be able to get the official OTA updates in the future?
Please let me know.

i know your mobile has not soft bricked yet.
but you can follow that procedure. it is safe. you will successfully boot in stock lollipop.
just download stuff from above link and extract it in single folder. you can see guide in above link also

Done and running official 5.0.2 now. Hope will be getting future official updates from now on. Thanks a ton bro. :good::good::good:
I flashed the the 122 mb update and got the error, but it was fine when I flashed the OTA LP again and flashed the incremental right after it.
But unfortunately (or fortunately ) my Mac address was lost had to flash a custom kernel to make it work. Was it the same for you?
And I don't see much difference with the phone, the battery lasts around 8-9 hours on games (heating is still on).
I do like to know if there's any difference for you guys

Best way is to flash the full new rom (4.3 probably) in fastboot, reroot, restore apps with Titanium Backup and you`re done. Flashing a full rom is better than updating an excisting one imo. Link for how to flash stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312.

You can be on stock with no mods unlocked rooted with a custom recovery and you will get the ota update and it will install fine.
The ota update link will be posted here before you get on your device so it's good to have a custom recovery so you can just flash it and it will also protect you from losing root or custom recovery

Hi there,
I have stock rom and just updated to KitKat 4.4.2. Any chance if I can get root & custom recovery over here?

I look through and this procedure can follow if you are still in JB rom. But now, I already on KitKat stock rom 4.4.2. I just need to root it & download the recovery. Is IORoot compatible for 4.4.2 root?
i believe there's still no root or recovery for 4.4.2 KitKat LG rom yet..
u need to go back to 4.2.2 to retain root & recovery when upgrading using the method listed in that thread

OK..In that case will wait for root + recovery when it available. No point downgrade back to 4.2.2 cause KitKat rom now is super smooth and fast.
you can update to 4.4.2 again after you have root and custom recovery
downgrade -> root -> upgrade -> be happy
There is root for stock 4.4.2 but U have to install it from 4.2.2 with that guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2680789
For now the downgrade to 4.2.2 is only need for install stock 4.4.2 and root then You will have stock KK rooted
for custom recovery for stock KK we must wait

I tried this yesterday and nearly bricked my phone.I downgraded from 4.4.2 then rooted with ioroot24 then got freegee to install twrp..all was good until i tried to flash the 4.4.2 rom in twrp it keep failing when i came out of twrp and rebooted BAM i was stuck at boot screen and device would do nothing.
After hours and hours of trying all sorts i managed to flash back to 4.4.2 EUR open using the offline fix and messing with everything to get the device recognised in the flashtool.. even had the back off and disconnected battery maybe that did it but this only worked after attempting it 20 or so times the planets must have been aligned or something as nothing worked until then..Phew...SO be super careful is what i am trying to say.
I don't say "be super careful" I'll say if U dont feel good with that staff, READ carefully everything!
everybody got own story, is normal, and my story is short I think, but I'm few years in the "bussines"
After I buyed my G2 had stock 4.2 and I've put KK CM on it, after stock KK shows, I've downgrade to stock 4.2, rooted and installed twrp with no problem, then puting via twrp stock KK and root and thats it
the only problem I was have is with downgrade to 4.2 stock via offline method but that was my antivisrus blocked LG update tool (but I've managet it) and then rest was easy
In every GUIDE or threat You can post Your problem and people helps You, I know that by myself. but 95% problems is because peoples makes mistakes becouse of don't carefuly READ guids or help posts in threat, they only read last one post... and I know that with my experience

"downgrade" doesnt mean you need to stay in 4.2.2, it means u flash 4.2.2 first to get root and recovery, then u can flash 4.4.2 and remain root and recovery, so end up you are using 4.4.2 and have both root and recovery
That what I was talking about about readings post...
Mate You wrote exactly the same thing that I wroted two post above....

Unfortunately the second part of Your post is not true... For now You will dont have recovery on 4.4.2, only root but not recovery, the recovery from 4.2 will be deleted
plus one more thing that root for 4.4.2 not remain but You must flash it too, after flash stock KK... I've puted link to GUIDE two post above too, but like I said, peoples don't reads carefuly guids and posts...
we still waiting for recovery for stock KK

Show me where is recovery for stock KK? we talking here about stock KK, from stock JB, read the posts man, read the first page, is only 2 pages thread...

show me recovery for stock KK and I will apologize, for now U must read posts carefuly
Excited to see what 5.0 looks like on my Nexus 10, I'm running CM 4.4.4 right now with TWRP what's the best way of updating? I was thinking about grabbing the stock image and flashing it through fastboot. But what would that mean for TWRP would it play nice with the 5.0 image? And what about grabbing a stock rom and updating through the OTA? Would I lose TWRP that way? What do you guys think and how are you planning on updating?
Can't take the OTA if you have TWRP. You have two methods to choose from:
1. Flash all stock software meaning: stock ROM, recovery, system apps and kernel then you'll be able to take the OTA.
2. Wait until someone posts a TWRP flashable ROM, will probably be 3 to 4 days after the OTA, but will require less work overall.

Try making a new thread instead of hijacking this one.
I reverted to stock using KDZ flashing and then I rooted the phone using IOroot. There are many methods to install twrp and I'm kinda lost. I don't want to brick my phone again. I know a guide that tell you to kdz flash stock KitKat and use autorec but I don't know which kitkat .kdz to download from here: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/KitKat/ Previously I used this Poland OPEN D80210E_00.kdz to revert to stock. Which one should I download? Unless there is an easy way to install twrp on Jelly Bean of course. I would appreciate if someone could provide me the needed files to install LineageOS correcly (bootloader/bootstack or something, I don't really know much about flashing android roms)
There are a lot of guides... You just have to read. Example:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63327417&postcount=4
If you're still lost check the G2-Index-Thread.
Good Luck!

You have to first Install a Custom recovery like Philz Touch, Clean the rom, then flash in the old rom using Odin, or if you have it in .Zip format, its straight after cleaning the rom, go to install from SD card

Please stop providing members incorrect information. Philz is not a ROM it is a recovery. And if he wants to be on stock he needs the official firmware for his device and carrier from sammobile.com and Odin. He needs Philz or TWRP if he wants a custom ROM. However, I recommend a custom ROM over stock. More features and tweaks for the phone. You can also root and get kernel auditor and out it to battery save.
You should try clearing the cache partition and leaving the phone for a week to get used to Marshmallow. I'm on it and it's quite better than Lollipop, just give it some time to settle in
