hello there, I have a N910F and I have tried resetting it through the settings, as it goes into recovery it says 'installing system update' then just shows up the recovery without actually wiping the phone. when I do wipe the data it completes fine but when I click onto reboot system now an error comes up saying failed to mount data and something in brackets which I cant read because t reboots too quickly. the phone starts up with all my data still in tact.
I have also tried to flash the latest Lollipop version for the device but it as soon as I click start the flash fails. this is confusing me because this phone is not rooted. I even tried to flash TWRP but the stock recovery still seems to show up.
very puzzled would like to know if anyone can help me would appreciate it a lot! :good:

Background: So i bought this used S5 900f from someone and it gave me "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" error while rooting and installing recovery. i found a workaround for this error by immediately pulling the battery trick after root. I have installed TWRP and root and they work but this "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing error" still displays when i try to enter recovery for about 2-3 seconds and then the recovery boots.
Now the Problem is : My s5 900f is not saving Wifi password on any of the lollipop builds i have tried Many UK 5.0 (BTU) Builds from Sammobile , and Nordic Countries 5.0 as soon as i restart or shutdown m phone Wifi password is reset and i have to enter it again after turning my phone on again. Surprisingly When i downgrade to any of the kitkat Builds Wifi starts saving passwords just fine?
Things i have tried
Format, Clear dalvik cache, cache, data, system, internal Storage and install different 5.0 builds.
Enabling disabling Google backup, it doesn't help.
Kindly Help me out does Wifi not saving password has anything to do with this "Seandroid not enforcing Error" . And how to fix this issue i am at verge of smashing this phone. .....

Thanks alot buddy, you just saved my phone....Phewwww do you know why it happened in the first place?
Buggy ROM is all I can think, it happened to me with a clean install of the latest LP ROM so I went looking for a fix for myself
I tweeted to Samsung UK about it, and they just talked to me like I was stupid, I guess they don't want to admit to it being their fault
UPDATE NOW after the build prop fix, i rebooted fine once... After installing TWRP the phone is crashing on boot up....touchwiz crashes along with all other programs it wont let me boot up. Maybe TWRP messed something up.
Try clearing the caches from recovery, the build.prop fix doesn't cause any issues like that, but I've had issues after flashing custom TWRP before, generally clearing caches / pulling battery fixes it

Some folks are able to flash any 5.0 build and they don't get the Build.Prop issue. i just reflashed and the issue came back...will re edit the build.prop till now i have rooted + installed TWRP no issues so far only build.prop left to be edited..... could you please tell me why is it persistent on some phones that even reflashing, formating doesn't help.
Unfortunately Nothing works....I have been more than patient with this device...been flashing and trying different things for 18 hours now. It works fine but after going to recovery (Just by entering it) and then rebooting will freeze my phone with "Unfortunately Media storage has stopped working...and everything else like touchwiz also crashes".......i was so...so wrong to move to a samsung This Definitely is my last samsung phone...for now i will keep trying different things.
Try a different recovery, Philz Touch, CWM etc
Are you definitely flashing the latest TWRP?
The way I install TWRP is using TWRP Manager from G Play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmz.soft.twrpmanager&hl=en_GB
Install BusyBox first or it'll prompt you before doing anything
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en_GB
The defaults it prompts you to change for locations can be left as they are

Should be able to find everything you need here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697523
Instructions for ADB manual install, and also ODIN
Philz is a big favourite over CWM - Id try Philz first
Strange your same model S5 takes a fit with TWRP, it works fine on my G900F
Might be worth trying the App install method I posted

Thanks for your Help, i guess this problem is too complicated. Anyway this time i installed Philz recovery > formatted everything > remove user content and data > custom formatted everything > flashed 5.0 BTU. and surprisingly its saving WiFi passwords without any build prop changes. So i am going to leave it here . 5.0 Unrooted with stock recovery everything working (FOR NOW) . This time i used Odin 3.10 instead of 3.07. I hope it does not get stuck at boot logo and start crashing. Only one problem it kept connecting to "update server" evem tho i had disabled the auto update option from settings>about >updates . i restarted immediately hopefully it wont try to update again. Thanks again for your help.
My N910G that wont boot!
If I flash the latest TWRP I can access recovery mode and flash any ZIP however when the phone reboots after the installation of the new ROM, it always eventually gets suck on the NOTE 4 Logo after booting onto the Samsung Logo. I can access the the partitions in TWRP when I go to individually wipe them. I've noticed sometimes the phone doesn't remember when tick the checkbox for "dont show this message again" the first time you've booted into TRWP.
Things I've tried:
Full restore using the latest N910G firmware. (XSA-N910GDTS1DPH1-20160728112745)
Using the PIT file for a N910G and restoring the full original firmware
Clicking "NAND Erase All" in Odin and using the PIT file for a N910G and restoring the full original firmware.
Every time I do anyone of the above options the phone reboots then goes into stock recovery where it works for a little bit then restart and eventually gets stuck on the Samsung logo or reboots and gets stuck on the Note 4 Logo.
Any help would be MUCH MUCH appreciated, if anyone can help me get the phone working again I will gladly buy them one month to samsung-firmware.org or pay them the equivalent into palpay.

This information has something to do? Can it help you?

After installing a new Rom, remove and put back battery. Then go to Recovery and do Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe cache. Reboot and wait, it will take a few minutes before rebooting.
This will erase though all your previous data from your old Rom.

Thanks for your help I tired it on two different versions of Odin and every time it fails (from all my flashing on this phone this is the only time I've seen it fail). So we might be on the right track or the phone is beyond software repair

I've tried doing that
The first issue I started to notice after rooting via Odin & TWRP was when trying to flash the iOS and WP ROMs from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/3oss-project-samsung-galaxy-tab-4-7inch-t3081478 , it would fail. I was able to successfully flash the Google ROM from same post. I believe it was with one of the other ones that it even said successful yet when i went to reboot said no OS installed. So, I figured update my TWRP to newest version, maybe that was the problem. Well after updating, now when i go to wipe/factory reset it either says unable to mount or it doesnt even make it that far and reboots system. I tried flashing PIT file with Odin and issue persists. Everything still works smoothly but any help fixing this issue would be much appreciated as I do not want to dirty flash anything. Thanks in advance.
So now...after flashing stock firmware, it boots all the way to nook screen (right after samsung logo) and stops. I can boot into TWRP but it still says unable to mount data. Also, in TWRP when i click mount, the only one already checked is cache. I can manually select all others except data. When i go to install, the internal sd has absolutely nothing on it...really hope i didn's completely mess it up, sometimes my eagerness to learn gets the better of me. Thanks again for any help!
I have the same issue, im stuck
So, even after I flash the stock rom with odin, it starts then at setup a bunch of "this app has stopped working" errors and cant access the system, I even tried flashing a bunch of custom roms(through TWRP since I can use odin no problem) and they all get stuck on the logo(waited for an hour before flashing a different one) Dont know what to do.
After flashing the stock rom and accesing the stock recovery i get a "Unable to mount /efs Invalid comand" error
Has anyone faced a similar problem
EDIT: after about 20 mins, the boot logo animation gets really slow (for any custom rom) but it never gets passed that

I think you did some changes to your device that made the efs partition corrupt. I think the only thing you can do is take your device to Samsung to get it fixed. I am sure that the efs partition is causing the issues.

yeah, I figured as much
Hey, look
Install the official firmware (stock firmware) via Odin, then turn off your phone
Then, go to the stock recovery and wipe cash and data
And finally, turn on youe phone
If it doesn't boot up (stuck at bootloader)
Remove your battery and try again
You're welcome
Hi I have a SM-N910F model which is proving extremely difficult to flash. I firstly flashed the latest Marshmallow UK BTU firmware on it which resulted in a boot loop. I cleared cache partition and wiped data/factory reset in the stock recovery (and TWRM recovery) but this did not fix the problem. So I flashed the phone again and this time it was stuck in a boot loop with the text "recovering booting..." at the top left. Tried the same as before and still didnt fix it.
So I then tried a different stock rom - Lollipop UK BTU firmware. This gave me the exact same problems as before. However on a few occasions, I also got an error on the recovery screen saying cache could not be mounted. I cleared the cache partition, tried reformatting cache using TWRM but none of this worked. Eventually I reflashed and it went away but the boot loop doesnt go.
Lastly I tried an even older firmware - Kitkat UK BTU firmware. This again gave me a boot loop problem. It also kept displaying the cannot mount cache error as well. I tried using PIT file to repartition the device and eventually the error went but the device would still be on boot loop. However on two occasions the phone did go past the Samsung logo and show the first setup screen (where you select initial settings like Wifi etc). After like 10-15 seconds it would just switch off and then go back into boot loop. I havent managed to get to the first setup screen again.
I have tried flashing with various different Odin versions but still no luck.
I feel like I have exhausted my options and not sure what to do. Do you think I should try a custom rom? If so, for the sake of getting it to start, which is a good lightweight rom?
Does anyone know what I can do to make these infinite boot loops and/or "cannot mount cache" error go away?
Anyone? I could really do with some help..
