Hello Last week I bought i9500 but I have suspicion it is fake. Can someone verify this?
Phone is from second hand And i9500 is not selled in slovakia.
imei is 359721050508140
tomorow I Will post some screens
Thanks.
Download "Phone Info" from playstore see what it tells you. Requires root with chainfire autoroot
@theDman68: root is only required if looking to read the number of times the device has been plugged in. However, he really does not need that app to figure things out.
@nemusss: Attempt to get into download mode (volume down, power, and home). If you get the download mode screen then the device is real. As an alternative, in the dialer attempt to dial *#1234#. If you get a result with the phone's AP, CP, and CSC, the device is real.
Cool. I did not know that. I thought it works for all android copies (well admittedly high copies).
It's intended specifically for Samsung phones, which is why when directing people to ROM packages I ask them to dial either *#1234# or download the app to give me the information I need. It can be installed on non-Samsung devices, but will provide very little if any information.
there are info from *#1234#
AP:I9500ZCUGND1
CP:I9500ZCUGND1
CSC:I9500CHNGND1
@nemusss: You have your answer.
Your S4 is real. A fake S4 would either generate an error message when using that code, or would do nothing at all. It certainly wouldn't produce the AP, CP, and CSC.
Thanks

Hi All,
I have read all the relevant threads in this forum regarding this, and I can't find an answer so here goes:
I got a brand new Galaxy S4 i9000 gifted to me.
This was from China I believe (the phone was bought in singapore but it has Baidu Input on it so I assume it was sourced in China - i may be wrong)
I can not for the life of me get Odin to recognize my phone;
I have tried everything recommended; (including installing drivers, USB debugging etc. yes I have also tried opening Odin first vice-versa)
Additionally, I can not get the phone into recovery mode (no combination of buttons seems to work - tried everything).
I came to the conclusion that this must be a region thing?
Anyone have any ideas about how I can:
1) get odin to recognize my phone
2) proceed to root (i suspect solving no. 1 will give this solution).
Many thanks.

You probably have a Chinese fake Galaxy S4, clone based on the S4. What cpu do you have installed and what is the software buildnumber.
BTW I9000 was the modelnumber of the first Galaxy S launched. You cannot root or flash stock or custom roms designed for the S4 as you will most likely brick the phone.

I actually am able to access the
"Android system recover <3e>" screen by pressing Volume UP, Home button and Power.
Is there a way to root the phone this way?

Upload a mobile pictures
Does air view , smart scroll etc wrkng ?
.
Was it recovery or download mode that showed a clone?
If it is a real S4 then you are probably having trouble flashing the modem. That was where it kept screwing up on the S3... Unfortunately the answer for that was to flash using Mobile ODIN but that doesn't support the S4 I9500 as of yet....

If you can't get it to go to Download/Odin Mode then it is a clone
can you check if it has the LCD TEST by typing *#0*# on the Phone Dialer, if you also don't have this then it is a clone
lastly download CPU-Z from the PlayStore and check if the processor is Snapdragon 600
Hello everyone, i'm new to XDA forums and hopefully i'll find a solution to my problem here.
I am always stuck on EDGE (E) when it comes to mobile network usage, regardless of where i am. I've tried using my SIM card in another phone and it instantly goes to HSPA+ (H+).
My phone is pretty much new and i didnt mess much with it as i dont know enough about phones to play with them in that way, it has been like this ever since i took it. There is one thing that i think its most likely causing it and that is that my phone was rooted when i bought it. >>> I dont know anything about advantages/disadvantages of rooted phone and if this may or may not cause any problems but i've never had this kind of an issue before with any phone and none of my phones before were rooted. <<<
I wanted to try and unroot the device by using Mobile ODIN Pro from Google Play Store but i stopped before i even started as the PRO version that is needed for this to be done says my device is not supported and therefore i cannot buy it. I had the Lite version and there are like 4-5 features that require PRO version in order for them to be used.
I have a GT-I9505 running on 4.4.2 android version, i'm from Serbia with mts as provider for what it matters.
P.S. My network mode is set to WCDMA/GSM (auto connect), if i change it to WCDMA only i lose network completely and if i put GSM only its again back on EDGE.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Let's make sure you actually have an I9505. Try to enter download mode (shut the S4 off, then hold volume down, home, and power). The model at the top of the screen with the green Android on it is the actual model of your S4.

It is I9505 as i said. How do i leave this mode now? It says "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!" across the screen. :v
I strongly suggest you check that attitude of yours. Just because you said it doesn't mean it actually is. There have been too many instances of counterfeit phones as well as phones from another carrier being installed with I9505 ROMs and IMEI numbers and sold to the unsuspecting. The question is thus a valid one.
If you're looking to exit download mode, simply pull the battery. If you're looking to reinstall a stock ROM, then you're on the right screen. Simply connect your S4 to your computer and use the desktop version of Odin to flash the stock ROM. Now, how do you know which stock ROM you should be using? Simply tell us your carrier.

There is no attitude mate, i just told you that it is what i earlier wrote after checking it the way you told me to. Nothing more than that.
By carrier you mean my mobile provider or whatever its called? If so, Telekom Srbija (mts).
The latest ROM for your device is here. The page gives instructions on how to use the file as well as download links.
Few questions:
Will that install lollipop? If yes, is lollipop worth getting? I recently heard opposite while i was actually trying to get it. It's the only opinion that i can sort of take in count so idk if its true or not.
Will it fix the problem?
"Add the firmware file to AP / PDA"
- What is(are) AP / PDA?
"Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked"
- This is an option in Odin i suppose, if it is disregard it. If not please explain.
Edit: I've downloaded PC version of Odin and i only see AP among other boxes for files to be added. Is PDA another name for it or..?
Should i also check the little box next to where it says AP? (picture below)
There's another zip file in odin folder "S1PlugIn.bundle_141117", i suppose i shouldnt touch this as you havent mentioned it?
P.S. Sorry if my questions appear stupid but i'm facing all of this for the first time and i'm just being extra careful as i dont want to mess up something.
This is the latest ROM for your device, so it will install Android 5.0.1. I believe it to be worthwhile, but if you want Android 4.4.2 instead a download is also available for it at the same site. Will it fix the problem? It should. If it doesn't then a hardware problem is more likely.
AP and PDA are two different names for the same thing. Older versions of Odin used PDA. Checking the box next to it won't hurt, and that other file isn't something you touch.
So i need to turn off my phone, go to download mode, connect pc and phone with USB, wait for some "blue sign" from ODIN and then add the file and run Start? Re-partition is disabled by default.
Everything went smooth but the problem persists... I even changed the network mode to the new options that i got (which includes 4g if i'm not wrong).
What to do?
P.S. 5.0.1 runs really slow for me, takes double more RAM than 4.4.2 and it almost filled up my whole phone memory
Try a different sim in your phone. if you still don't get 4g then you probably have a hardware failure.

Aye... Still the same even with another sim card. I guess its hardware problem in the end. Any idea what would it cost to fix, if you know what the problem could be at all?
Hello everyone, I'd like to start off by saying I am a complete newcomer to all this so please explain literally all of the terminology/jargon you intend to use and correct me when I use it wrong.
I have a Chinese version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N9109W and up until yesterday it was running out of the box on android 4.4.4. I care not for any of the data on the phone nor the warranty as there was none to begin with when it was gifted to me.
I attempted to "root" it as I didn't want any of the Chinese apps/restrictions on it but have failed miserably and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop.
I was following this guide if it helps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/root-note-4-sm-n910c-t2977948 and downloaded the appropriate Snapdragon version (SM-N9109W).
I cannot enter recovery mode by holding down *power+vol up+home* as it just keeps on rebooting. I can, however, get into the downloader by holding down *power+vol down+home*.
I have tried for the entirety of today to find a specific guide for the Chinese note 4 on xda, youtube and google but to no avail - nothing that I can find is identical to my situation and I am hesitant to do anything further to it by following a similar guide in case I make it worse.
I have repeatedly seen suggestions to "flash" stock rom and as I can get into the downloader I believe this would be a great starting point, but once again I am afraid to do anything without a specific guide for the N9109W.
A few people have referred to SamMobile to download stock rom, but a search for SM-N9109W lists 8 files for 4.4.4 and I believe I have no way of working out my PDA or CSC, yet again I don't know what these even are and they might not be relevant?
Any assistance in getting my phone's software back to "out of the box" conditions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you for your time and patience,
Ryan
If you can enter Download mode then you can flash that firmware you found matching your device's exact model no. via Odin. Just put the ROM in AP/PDA tab (PDA for older Odin versions, AP for new) and hit start.

Thank you ithehappy for the reply,
When I search for the stock firmware on SamMobile, I type in my exact model number (SM-N9109W). This search returns with a list of multiple different versions for my phone, of which 8 are 4.4.4 (my initial version).
Does it matter which version I download and install?
To my knowledge, I have no way of finding my CSC or PDA unless you know of a database I can use to search the information that is physically on my phone? Once again, does it matter that I know what these are or can I simply download, for example, version 5.1.1 and flash that on instead of my original 4.4.4? Or, will this just cause further possibly unfixable problems?
Thank you for your help
Anyone?
No, you can download any one you want.
Thank you for the help, ithehappy. I now have a working phone!
For future readers, I downloaded the latest version of 4.4.4 that SamMobile had (2015-03-27) for my model (SM-N9109W):
PDA: N9109WKEU1ANL3
CSC: N9109WCTC1ANL3
It failed the first time I tried flashing with Odin 3.10.7, but whilst I was hastily taking screenshots of my problem to post here I accidentally started the transfer again and it successfully installed that time.
I followed the instructions on SamMobile for the installation.
This version of the firmware I installed does not have any google services (thank China for that), so keep that in mind.
Thank you
Hi everyone.
My apologies in advance if this has already been answered but I can't find it. I am not new to XDA and do know how to use the search feature. This is the first time I post requesting help with a problem as I always search and find what I need. I got an unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge and after carefully following instructions found on XDA, I used ODIN and flashed, what I thought was, the right Nougat firmware for it. The phone rebooted and went as far as the WiFi network selection screen when it frozen and then gave me the error message that's on the picture attached. So my quetio s are these:
1. What do I need to do to get it back to download mode
2. Out of all the different versions out there, how do I know which G395F firmware is the correct one for it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
****UPDATE****
Guys, I have an update on this. So the red letter went away; I guess because the battery died. I plugged it into the power jack - not the computer, and it started charging. When it reached 5% i tried to turn it on and, lo and behold, the device started and went through the rest of the initial setup process. It's been on for about 5 hours now and ho hickups (knock on wood 3 times). I booted into recovery and the flash counter is on 0 so it means that Knox didn't trip; this is mind boggling to say the least.
Which firmware did you flash?
The G935F is fairly generic. Most firmware can be flashed on any G935F.
I'm out at work now but will reply with the firmware once I get home tonight. Thanks.
1. Just hold down Power+Home+Volume Down. After a couple of seconds it should boot Download Mode.
2. sammobile.com, find your modell, and then search for your country (or whatever you want?)

This is the firmware I flashed;
G935FXXU1DPLT_G935FOXA1DPLT_BTU
Would flashing this change the serial number on the device?
Thanks in advance.

1. Tried to do that and it wouldn't work.
2. The problem is that for my model number, United States is not listed neither is the "Global" version, which is the phone I have.
Thanks tough.
Now what I would like to know is; which stock firmware should I install to get the device back to 6.0.1 since US is not on the region list on Sammobile neither is my Model number which is plain SM-G935F. There is a "UD" quite a few spaces to the right of the model number; does anyone know what that means? Unlocked perhaps?
Admin; please feel free to relocate this post if it doesn't belong here anymore and thank you.
Hello.
I have big problem with flashing SM-G361F.
It has stucked on download mode after regular OTA update and i can`t do anything with phone anymore. Recovery isn`t working also. I have already try everything i have find on net to fix it,but with no luck. I try to flash it with all versions of ODIN, and try 5 different USB cables on a 3 different PC-s, and always with the same result.
All what I can "flash" is PIT file, everything other isn`t working. I have try sofar every repair firmware i have found, lot`s of kernels, recoverys, custom roms, etc, but with no luck at all.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Hello and apologies for my absence.
It seems you are in quite a pickle here, but since you can access Download Mode and Odin, that's great.
What I should tell you is that you don't need separate BL, AP, CSC and CP files to flash the ROM, since it uses the older method of flashing (which is much easier and more logical).
Unfortunately, since I am unaware of your mobile's network and it's nationality, I cannot recommend a specific ROM.
There is quite a list at https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-core-prime-lte/SM-G361F/ for this specific type of phone.
You need to put in your country and carrier and choose the latest version of the firmware since I am unaware of your phone's carrier and your nationality.
Either you can provide me with your country and mobile carrier or register to download the firmware yourself if you prefer.
Hope you get it fixed!

EDIT:
TAKE YOUR IMEI NUMBER DOWN IMMEDIATELY!
I know most of us on the forums are nice folk, but posting your IMEI number is bad, since someone could use it and take calls and texts from it if you insert a SIM card, leading potentially to some bad things happening, for example someone using your phone's IMEI to take calls and texts while you are stuck with the bill!
Please! At least blur it out!
Thank you for your quick respond.
Unfortunaly i have already try all available rom from that link for my country and carrier, and it is always the same result.
I have the same issue with the G361F. Except mine always stays on the "samsung galaxy core prime" logo. I have tried around 15 Roms and always the same result.
I think i have the same problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core-prime/how-to/stuck-powered-logo-t3838830
Any news about that?
