[Q] Touchscreen calibration - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I think I have a calibration pb with my SM-G900F.
The swipe from the top to display the shortcuts panel works 1/3 of the time and only if I do it from the far left part of the screen. The other 2/3 times it shows all the options possible. I cannot open the settings or edit from there. The phone becomes cumbersome to use.
Has anyone encountered the same pb ? Any cue on how to solve this ?

I finally had my operator changing my device for a new one. Included in my plan. Tx Bouygues.

G1 touch screen is off

Every once in a while, the touch screen area at the bottom of the screen by the menu bottom is non reactive. for example when i touch n on the vk, it looks as if im touching h. Is anyone else going through this as well?
just recently my touch screen has problem. when i try to switch screen using touch screen, the screen get stuck half way and shaking. and every time the problem occur, i can't make a selection using touch screen. if i select an icon on the top row, an icon on the bottom row is selected instead.
I've had a few issues lie the two above. I'm not quite sure if it's a hardware of software issue, but resetting the device always seems to work just fine. It's not the best solution, but its better than nothing.
have you tried the VK caliberation tool?

No touch recognition on left side of display

Hi guys,
I just noticed that the left side of my leo seems not to recognize when I touch it. With left side I mean 3-4 mm are on the whole left edge of the display where if I click nothing seems to happen. You can test it easily in calendar or in Finger keyboard in horizontal mode (90 degrees rotated display).
Anyone else has this problem?
Could it be that it's not calibrated properly ?
I think you don't have to calibrate this kind of display.
Did you try this? =

The device doesn't make you do this when you first boot it but I found it solved my problem.
go to....
settings >> menu >> all settings >> system >> screen
I advise you not to use a stylus to do this but your finger - may be a bit tricky but if you can touch the crosses accurately enough with your finger you will find this benefits you when using everything.
I also turned on ClearType as I always had that on and default is off.
hope it's not been mentioned already.
Calibration didn't help that specific problem.
Now I was checking and there seem to be 3-4mm border all around the display which doesn't recognize touches. Do you guys have that too?
Yup. Notice it on text messages, so say you type 4 lines and you notice a mistake at the end of line 1; trying to touch the end of the word, at the end of the line can be tricky as it is on the 'border region' so to speak.
Thanks for confirming, I started to worry that I may have a defective unit.
It would be great if more people could confirm this too.

Problem with the screen sensor. Bottom center of the screen working on its own.

Hello,
Recently I found out that my screen is by default doing some unusual stuff. I am using ICS build, so in this case its opening the menu automatically. Also whenever I try to dial the phone number, sometimes only half of the digits gets dialed on its own.
Basically the problem is that what ever is there at the bottom center of screen gets clicked automatically. Kindly help me to get the answer of the same. I could not found this problem anywhere listed. So posting the same.
Thanks

[Q] touch screen issue ? screen responds wrong.

One of my HD2s (TMOUS) has a touch screen related issue:
Has the usual sometimes fails to respond to touch.
Also the notification window keeps opening without any input.
Also when it does work going into resco images to view through pictures results in image chopped in half & bottom of image displayed on top of screen & top of image displayed on bottom of screen.
running on energy WM6.5.3 & have done for over 18months & no new software or settings have been added for a long while.
Also don't use the power key much as turn off/standby via touch screen button & normally turn on from standby via windows key ...
assume it digi but as have not seen one with these exact symptoms before thought I would post & see if anyone had similar symptoms from digitizer failure !?

[Q] Galaxy S4 i9505 screen issues (touch and rotate)

I recently got a S4 from a friend. At that moment it did not have a front glass (made an order from Ebay).
Now the first problem I noticed was the rotation problems. When Auto Rotate is on everything goes reverse. Default camera app has everything rotate as well (at all times). Tried to recalibrating but that did no good.
Second problem is that when I use the phone the damn thing at some point goes crazy. Hardly recognizes my finger (draw a line and it will mostly consists of dots). Use my knuckle and I can use it properly.
Can anyone help me? I need to get this thing fixed ASAP
The drawing shows how drawing 4 lines seems like. The only real line is made with my knuckle
And the other is showing my camera rotation problem.
