Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
I am running stock ics xxlpq and skygo is working fine for me.
The Rom which i am using is stock, flashed with odin.
Here is how i got it working....
[*]Flash cf-root with odin.
[*]download buildprop editor.
[*]Create a backup of buildprop.
[*]Edit buildprop and change root.build.version.release to 2.3.7
[*]Flash with stock kernel
[*]Run superuser and install such binaries
[*]Download Voodoo OAT root keeper
[*]Run OAT root keeper and select temp root
[*]Download a use Skygo
You can get root gain by using ota root keeper but remember not to run Skygo when you are not rooted or you will have to install Skygo and then install it again.

i lost my root access after i flashed PA 5.1.x legacy. Any one help?
We don't ship with root in any 5.x builds. It's really easy for you to flash SuperSU in recovery.
The fact that you don't understand that means you are not one that needs root access.
Flash SuperSU from your recovery for root access. Here's the file: link
I'm rooting my old Nexus 6P for the first time, so there may be some things I don't fully understand yet. So far I have unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and Magisk and I have root access. The phone itself is on the stock ROM with all the latest possible updates.
Now I gave root access to Root Explorer in r/w mode and I would need to add a few lines into an XML file in the etc/permissions folder. However, it won't save the changes. Is this due to the stock ROM being used? Do I have to get a custom ROM or is there a way to edit the file on the stock ROM?
