[Q] Vodafone UK 4g mms / apn settings? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone won't send photos via mms yet I can receive. Vodafone say they've enabled it but it still won't work.
Can someone share their settings if they work?

bump / anyone?
FYI I've installed n910fxxu1boc4 and the BTU csc - I was originally a BTU CSC having bought an international sim free... Was previously on the Netherlands version on boc4. No idea whether these affect MMS but anyway it stil isn't working.
I find it strange how I can receive photos via MMS but not send to anyone outside of Vodafone. I suspect a server routing problem - however I am using the bog standard settings from vodafone UK website.
Any ideas?
EDIT - FIXED it. Need to set MMS limit to 300mb and wifi off when sending SMS (its a TMobile setting in ChompSMS)

hi guys was wondering the above? i heard its quite difficult to get the EDGE/gprs working on this phone in india.
Thanks!
No. Getting EDGE to work is as simple as in any other country. Just find out APN settings of your provider and add them from settings.
thank u so much i will do so!
Im sorry for being daft but when u say sim unlocked, does it mean it will work on any network in the world? Or just diff networks in the country u bought it in? Im askin cause im in india and i hope it works here

www
rest is default
Hi,
I have problem in accessing the secure sites using the normal vodafone GPRS connection wit the APN "portalnmms" None of the "https" sites will open nor can I use the active sync or other push emails.
I tried to create a new APN with "www" but once I selected it as the default APN, my GPRS stopped working. I have not changed any other settings. Please could anyone help.
Thanks,
Deepak
Gprs settings not recieving from airtel.
I am using Airtel as it Is..... can someone tell me what settings work on my stock HTC magic phone. I have Airtel live activated. And I was very able to browse and log in to my mails etc. (The customer care guy was surprised that I had been able to access mails on Airtel, however I dont y he felt so). But when I went on roaming I was not able to access my mails but only cue browse the net. Then I tried resetting my fone to factory settings losing the Airtel live settings. Then called up Airtel and asked to send the settings, BUT THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO SEND THE SETTINGS TO MY CELL AS I WAS IN ROAMING.
Then even when I came back to local, they were not able to send me the gprs/mobile office settings to my magic. Any idea guys ......?
not able to avail 100MB plan from airtel
After repeatedly making requests to airtel customer care, I am not able to get the free 100 MB plan, which comes with new Airtel magic, activated on my handset.
It seems that Airtel is not yet technically equipped to support android handsets.
I am using AirtelLive and paying 100Rs/month for usage
Even I am also facing the same problem. SSL sites not opening up. Not able to access gmail/gtalk/Android Market on my GPRS connection. Have a Vodafone connection.
Tried the "www" APN settings thing.
Didn't work.
Any breakthrough so far?
After going through a few forums, I guess its a problem with the APN. Many people suggest clearing the proxy and the port fields. I tried that. But then, my EDGE connection was lost and I couldn't connect to the net. Following are the current APN settings that I am using:
Name: Vodafone live
APN : portalnmms
Proxy: 10.10.1.100
Port : 9401
MCC : 404
MNC : 27
APN type: default
If anyone is using any other settings on Vodafone, Do inform.

Well I have magic (not bought from airtel, but imported from TW), I have taken 399 gprs plan and every thing works fine. I sync exchange mail, gmail, yahoo mail, browse including secure sites. No problems at all.
1) You need to get mobile office GPRS plan activated on your number
2) APN settings are simple -> Set APN to airtelgprs.com and leave all other settings as is and set APN type to default, if your mobile office is activated you can see all you data stuff working.
Update: I have this from June 09 even before HTC launched Magic with Airtel
Subhash
APN issue
I flashed my HTC Magic to Amon Ra's 1.6 ROM. Everything works perfectly except gprs. The baffling thing is that when I put in some random settings for the APN, they get saved, of course it doesn't work, but when I add the correct settings, the new APN doesn't appear in the list at all and the gprs does not work. I am using a vodafone connection. Any ideas?

Use of Samsung Focus in UK?

I was wondering, if I was to order a SIM unlocked Samsung Focus from america (there are a few on ebay) would I have any problems using it in the UK?
As far as I can tell it has the same GSM bands as UK phones, but I am wondering why it wasnt launched in the UK?
I think you will have trouble configure MMS for use with your own network of choice (known issue and seems no solution so far). Also, it may or may not support the 3G frequency depending on which band your carrier uses (Focus only supports 2100Mhz band outside of US).
In UK, you should just order the Ominia 7. Same phone (and looks better than Focus, IMO) sans the SD card slot. But with the amount of trouble of getting any SD card to work reliably with Focus, you might jsut forget about it ever had a SD slot in the first place.
I ordered mine to Norway from ebay. Everything but MMS works perfect, and the MMS issue can be fixed with an app from the Samsung Zone in the Marketplace which allows you to change the settings that at&t have hidden away.
I got the Samsung Focus recently and I'm using it on Vodafone UK. I notice that sometimes despite the phone saying full 3G there's no connection and I have to reboot the phone to get a data connection. Anyone else had this?
I have an unlocked Focus too... for those that have successfully got the 3G to connect - what tarriffs are you on, and how did you get it setup??
Cheers
Samsung Focus in the UK
I have a Samsung Focus from Ebay. I have unlocked the phone from fastgsm which was instant and simple to do.
I have the internet and 3g working fine so far by simply adding the Vodafone APN settings in the menu. I haven;t tried mms messages but don;t really use them anyway but think they should work if you use the samsung app for configuring the phone fromt he store.
Just a quick comment. I can;t get the radio to pickup much. I have changed the region to International but I am still getting a terrible signal although I do get some stations they are quickly lost if you move at all. Any help?
^^ I have the same problem with the radio. Unlocked via FastGSM.
howdy. I've got an unlocked focus on vodafone pay as you go SIM; they can't seem to give me any APN etc settings that allows the internet to work. Do you mind me asking what you've entered into yours??

No Internet (Android, Meizu M9, vodafone NL)

Hi all,
I'm running out of things to try to get my internet working. Hopefully you can tell me where to look for more info, because right now it could be anything (broken phone?)
Here's what I've got:
- Meizu M9 android phone with (newest) 15318 firmware
- vodafone NL sim card, used with internet with HTC Magic for almost 2 years
- I can call, receive SMS, etc, but there is no internet (2G nor 3G)
- I've set up an APN with the following: live.vodafone.com, vodafone, vodafone
- I've tried setting the proxy to 192.168.251.150:8799
- I've tried both PAP and CHAP
- In the info menu (*#*#4636#*#*) it says GSM connected, GPRS disconnected or connecting. When it says disconnected, the 'GSM Disconnects' thing says 'fail due to Unknown Data Error'. I ran into a piece of code which lists all the errors. This is the default error, when it doesn't know what else it is.
I can't tell if this is a firmware, APN or hardware problem. Has anyone got any ideas?
i think it's apn or firmware. because if it would be hardware problem, then calls and sms wouldn't work either, but i'm not sure. try a hard reset (make sure you backup your data first) or find another apn settings. my carrier also has problems with apn. oh wait. another question. can you receive or send mms?

MMS and O2 on Atrix (Froyo)

Need a little bit of help with MMS reciving and sending on my Unlocked AT&T Atrix which is on O2 UK.
I've setup all the APN's as specified on a few threads on Google for it, but I cannot download them. I get the notification, but when downloading it just errors with "Text message not received".
Any ideas on this one as O2 don't seem to provide a setting download service for Android phones via the SIM Card or other means.
Thanks
Andy
I Have problem with mms and simunlocked atrix too.. But not with O2!
Anyone with simunlocked atrixegot mms working? ..
I want only mms , and NOT Internet.
Internet charges for me are insane!!!!!!!!!
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Does this problem only affect sim unlocked atrix's only? I'm using a Rogers sim card with an Unlocked Bell Atrix and I can't receive MMS. They send fine though.
I have an Orange UK unlocked Atrix running on Three UK, flashed with the French retail firmware.
I didn't even have to configure any APNs for anything, data or MMS. They self populated.
I sent an MMS to myself and it sent and received just fine.

Trouble with Vodafone UK data connection

My nexus has trouble connecting to Vodafones hsdp network. I have to reboot or select another operator...then reselect Vodafone for it to register.
2g is fine. I had this problem on stock...and it remains despite now running aokp and franco kernel. it's not limited to just one mast. Can anyone offer any suggestions. doI need new APN settings or a new radio or something? thanks
Mine is working fine.
I have two APN's showing:
Vodafone UK - wap.vodaphone.co.uk
Vodafone UK Prepay - pp.vodafone.co.uk
The WAP one is selected.
