HI
I have and aftermarket cover and it used to work flawless with kitkat. I updated recently and now it doesnt. Phone freezes when i flip the cover , cannot answer calls etc..
If sm1 who is still in kitkat could extract scover.apk and another relative apk (i dont remember the name but has "cover" in it ) it would be so nice.
Thanks
The quickest way to get an apk, rather than wait for someone to post it, is to download a rom and unzip it and take what you need.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have a stock 4.4.2 rom in my pc but cant seem to decompress it. I can see system.img.ext4 (2.2Gb so this must be the main archive) but dont know how to extract that archive. Tried 7zip winzip winrar nothing works.
Thanks
Is it a tar or a zip?

A kit-kat apk most likely won't work on a lollipop rom anyway. Try finding a stock lollipop rom and test the apk from that.

It's a tar.
As for the second suggestion I am currently on stock firmware so that's the problem.
First, you would need a stock rom in zip form. Second, look for a custom stock based rom around here, it may have an apk that works.

It most likely is in framework-res/ drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi folder and be called keyguard_default_wallpaper.png but I have also seen the name keyguard_bubble_sky.png
This may depend on the ROM you have installed. Also I have seen SOME Roms have it located in a folder in system/wallpaper and named lockscreen_default_wallpaper.jpg Again depending on the ROM.

Give me a few minutes and I will link a flashable zip with ONLY the needed files/names in their locations. You can then unzip the file, replace all three files I listed above in the correct spots and make sure the names are exactly spelled the same and overwrite the lock screen wallpapers I have in it. Then zip it back up and flash it.

Here you go. Unzip this and replace YOUR lock screen wallpaper in the system/wallpaper folder, the framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi, framework-res/res/drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi folders and you will cover ALL the bases.

Wow man thanks. I'm trying to take the next step in understanding themeing and I've seen this 360dp folder with an image called default_wallpaper that replaced the lockscreen but i could not figure where it put it in the original framework that made it work. I asumed the coding(in this case I was exploring an apk) was how it was placed because i couldnt find a default_wallpaper in my framework. I found the the one i set in my phone in the data/data/something but didnt thibk i could flash something to that folder configuration. Thats above and beyond making the zip for me! Awesome. Thank you.
Hey,
I need to analyze the contents of the new (D802) Kitkat modem.img and compare it with the previous (D805) JB modem.img, and try to make something out of it.
It seems that there are some differences with the compass and position sensors, as they're not working in LG's Kitkat with the old modem.
They do work with the new modem, but as my device modem is different (D805), I can't connect to the network.
nothing?

I am on it. 7zip let you extract the modem.img files, but it does not allow to modify its contents. I used Poweriso to do that. I just modified some files inside. The thing is that I am shooting in the dark, as nobody seems to know the function for the 79 files inside modem.img.
I made a guess and I am currently flashing a D802 kitkat image on my D806 and will flash my frankie modem after it, will let you know if I am successful..
Regards,
@Floodland any progress? I got exactly where you got, but couldn't edit .img files. If you have any progress let me know so I can test with d805!

I did it with success once (gingerbread modem with kitkat Android, the second time I tried, using a native kitkat modem with Lollipop, I was not able to find the correct set of files to merge (seems they changed something else in the actual modem. Thing is, some months later D805 received an update to Lolipop and that modem worked fine for D806 too. I do not have that device anymore, but MM and everything which got released until I got it, worked as intended with that radio.
***PLEASE DO NOT REPLY IN THIS THREAD UNLESS YOU ARE WORKING ON A ROM. THANK YOU***https://plus.google.com/share?url=http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/root-pingpong-root-rom-workshop-thread-t3104639
If you have any questions, please send me a PM.
Due to my limited bandwidth and slow connection to oversea download sites, it takes too long to get new ROM scanned and supported. I need volunteers with knowledge of Odin tarballs and ROM zip packages to help me extracting "useful" part out of the ROM and upload them to speed up the process. Thank you for making this tool better
How to get involved:
1. You need to know how to extract boot.img and system partition files from Odin tarball and recovery flash-able ZIP packages.
2. Pick one of the ROM from the pending list. Please search in thread first to see if anyone is already working on it (and not yet failed). I'll also maintain the list regularly.
3. Search for this ROM on SamMobile or other sources. If you can find it, please reply in this thread in form of "WIP ROM version" so others will know.
4. Download the ROM, extract following pieces:
- boot.img
- /system/build.prop
5. Create a zip file named ROM_version.zip, containing boot.img and build.prop (inside system folder please), and upload it to a mediafire/mega share:
***remove the account, seems it never works***
6. Once done, please update the reply with "DONE ROM version". For any reason it failed or you can't continue, just replace it with "deleted".

Can you get into download mode still? I haven't actually done a restore myself but since I got the tablet, I've been reading and getting stuff together for when or if the time ever came. So you can decide on wether to use my advice or wait for someone else to help since I can't say that it has worked for me.
But from what I have gathered you can set your tablet back to stock with MiFlash and a recovery file from a Russian site. Since you have the X304L, you would need the one that corresponds with that. Get it from this forum
http://lenovo-forums.ru/files/category/287-lenovo-tab4-a10-tb4-x304l/
Make sure to get the full ROM at the bottom and not one of the OTA files. Then you will need MiFlash from here
https://www.xiaomigeek.com/download-xiaomi-mi-flash-tool.html
Install that and then follow instructions here to restore the tablet
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...blems-with-8-1-Oreo-update/m-p/4316287#M41005
Again, I have not personally done this yet. But I have been told this is what I need for when the time comes.

Try flashing newer android version firmware

Has anyone tried contacting lenovo on the same ??

Can you get into download mode still? I haven't actually done a restore myself but since I got the tablet, I've been reading and getting stuff together for when or if the time ever came. So you can decide on wether to use my advice or wait for someone else to help since I can't say that it has worked for me.
But from what I have gathered you can set your tablet back to stock with MiFlash and a recovery file from a Russian site. Since you have the X304L, you would need the one that corresponds with that. Get it from this forum

Make sure to get the full ROM at the bottom and not one of the OTA files. Then you will need MiFlash from here
https://www.xiaomigeek.com/download-xiaomi-mi-flash-tool.html
Install that and then follow instructions here to restore the tablet

Again, I have not personally done this yet. But I have been told this is what I need for when the time comes.
