Mirroring problems on TV via Slimport after Lollipop update - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am having problems with mirroring my smartphone screen to TV when using slimport after upgrading to Lollipop. It is like my tv can not detect anymore my device. I used to see under "SETTINGS/GENERAL" there are connection options like Charging, Images/Videos uploading, LG PC SUITE, etc. Now it is gone. My G2 version is F320L. Anyone experienced this too?

slimport no longer works on lg g2 ls980 scince lolipop update
Yes it does not work on my lg g2 ls980 ever since lolipop installed

I upgraded to Lollipop and slim port mirroring still works fine for me. There is nothing to select. When I plug the hdmi cable to my TV and select that source my screen is mirrored. I don't have to touch anything on my phone for it to work.
That being said you should just invest in a Chrome cast. It does the same thing wirelessly and there is more you can do with it besides just mirroring. I prefer the Chromecast over slimport any day.

Screen Mirroring on Samsung Tv

I just bought a Samsung 32F6400 tv, wich has screen mirroring that is designed to work just with samsung phones/tablets.
I turned on wireless display on my phone, it connects to the tv, and after that i get a 2-3 sec black screen on the tv, and then it says Screen mirroring off/disabled...
Did anyone get this to work on a samsung tv ?
problem with Samsung
I also have a Samsung TV 2013 edition and when I try connecting via miracast it says connected then the TV stops and exits miracast mode, however the nexus 4 did work with my freind's lg smart TV and my brother's note 2 worked on my TV so I'm guessing that the problem is with Samsung not the nexus. And I was using stocl android 4.3 ....:crying:
I'm hoping there's a port to make it work with Nexus phones.. Anyone?

Screen Mirroring on non-Samsung TV???

Just bought a brand new LG TV (55LA8600) that supports miracast. I am on Phoenix Rom v7.3, rooted, Philz recovery but stock kernel. I can see the LG TV under screen mirroring and the TV can see my S4. However, when i try to connect it seems to try to connect but then fail after say 10-15 seconds. I thought miracast was a standard protocol and so my S4 should work with the LG TV but guess its not that easy. I have read and some people say the ability to connect depends on whether its rooted, custom rom, custom status, hdcp off, etc but so far found no clear anwser.
So just wondering whether anyone got the S4's screen mirroring to work with non-Samsung TV/devices. If so, what did you do??? Also do i need to install Samsung Link (formerly Allshare)????
Looks like i answered my own question. Confirmed s4 can miracast with screen mirror to lg tv! If rooted look for sorg's post!

Turning an old LG G2 into an "Android TV"

My LG G2 has served a good life, first as a replacement phone, then as a backup phone (both for me and my mom), and now that I'm moving into an apartment, I wanted to put my old G2 to good use…by attempting to transform it into a smart TV box.
I have a 38" Vizio TV - regular HD, nothing smart about it - that doesn't receive IR signals anymore, but hey, it's a free TV. The side buttons still work, and I figured I could hook up an Android stick TV or box to it and make it a smart TV. Unfortunately, those things cost money, and the cheaper Android boxes seem questionable. Plus, trying my hand at a "self-made" "Android TV" could be fun.
This is both a how-to (in progress)/what worked for me/request for tips from the wise.
So far:
(1) Just ordered a Slimport* to HDMI cable and an HDMI to HDMI cable from Monoprice. (*Note that the G2 requires Slimport, a specific standard as opposed to MHL, to transfer data via microUSB to HDMI output)
(2) I've installed Kodi and some add-ons on the G2 and installed several video and music apps (YouTube, Google Play Music, etc).
(3) LG G2 is rooted and running CM13
(4) I have the Sleep Standby app on the G2 to allow it to function while the screen is off and mirror to the TV.
What I'm working on
Currently looking for a good app for my primary Android phone (not rooted) that can function as a remote to control the G2. I've also wondered about the possibility of a simple bluetooth remote that I can pair with the G2 (since multiple people will be using the TV).
Suggestions are welcome! I'll try to keep this post updated with my progress for those who are interested.

Are you looking for an app to control the phone or an app to control Kodi?

Problem with Miracast to Microsoft Wireless Display

Hi all, I am having this problem with my new LG G6 from Telus. I tried to connect it to my Microsoft Wireless Display V2, but the screen turns white, then the widi then just goes back to the how to connect screen, while my LG G6 still says it's trying to connect. The weird thing is that it can connect to the LG TV itself fine via miracast, and also the Chromecast. To make matters even more confusing, my LG V20, Samsung Note 3 AND my Surface Pro 3 can connect to the WiDi fine too. Any idea what might be the issue here? I thought it might be a app conflict, but no way to confirm. Any help is greatly appreciated, since I did not know that the LG G6 does not support Slimport, would have gone with LG v30 instead then

External mouse for LG G2 with bad touchscreen

I have a LG G2 (VS980) that suffers from a bad touchscreen. I want to repurpose it as a media player. I am able to pair a bluetooth mouse so it seems to work out okay. But I also want to remove my google account also the T-mobile ROM does something strange on this Verizon G2. So I am thinking of flashing the phone to one of the custom ROMs out there. I can access the TWRP recovery via just the buttons. But I am worried that I cannot even get pass the initial Verizon registration screen.
I tried a non-bluetooth mouse with OTG cable and it does not seems to work. But a keyboard works fine. I wonder is there a creative way to let me control the phone after a new flash (at least let me get to bluetooth pairing)?
Odd coincidence, I came here to ask the exact same question for the exact same purpose.
I was wanting to know if it is possible to install TWRP & a custom ROM with only a USB mouse and no touch screen?
Mine is the D800, currently running the stock LG Android 5.0.2 (including stock recovery). A USB mouse on OTG cable works just fine for me, I have used a cheap wireless ONN mouse and even a Razer Death Adder (fancy power wasting LEDs & all) with no problem. Maybe it's an issue with the ROM you are on?
