I am using lateat cloudyg2/dorimanx on D802. I have jb bootloader.
I want to update to a stock lollipop rom and use new dorimanx kernel.
Can I just wipe everything and flash? Do I need a Kitkat bumped bootloader? Or a lollipop bootloader(if there is one)?
Thank you.

I am on a stock rom for SM-N900 . Want to upgrade to 4.4 custom ROM.
I've read that there's 2 version of the CWM recovery, one for JB and the other one for KK roms. Should I use the JB version to flash the 4.4 ROM and then odin flash the new 4.4 recovery ?

If you're on JB and would like to upgrade to KK you must first flash KK with odin or OTA if available. Then flash cwm for KK to install custom KK rom.
Well, since this is noob-friendly, would I be able to install a Custom ROM IF there were one available for 4.4.2? I got a Custom Recovery from Autorec and it said it downgraded my Bootloader so that it can install and old version of TWRP.

you can install any rom for your device as long as you meet the following-
a)if you are flashing a kk rom(g pro 2/flex kk/stock kk) then you just just have to either be on kk with recovery or flash the kk baseband for your device
b)if on kk and you want to flash jb rom(stock jb/flex jb) you need to flash the jb baseband at the same time as you flash the rom
c)if you want to flash an aosp rom you either check if it supports stock kk/if it doesn't mention anything flash a kk ported baseband for aosp kk or flash a jb baseband while flashing aosp rom

Yeah, it works! Thanks for verifying for me!
I'm currently running on 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on my ATT Galaxy S4(SGH-i337). I want to upgrade to the latest Kitkat 4.4.2 Stock Update. My ATT S4 is rooted and unlocked to work in India.
Can someone tell me:-
- If I need custom recovery for this ?
-If Yes/ No how do I go about it ?
-Will I lose root & and Carrier unlock after update ?
- Link to the Stock 4.4.2 Kitkat OTA

If you update, depending on which firmware you are on now, you will lose your ability to boot custom roms. If you have the MDL firmware, I suggest keeping it as you can use LOKI to bypass the locked bootloader and boot custom roms and recoveries. Now to answer your questions.
You can use a custom recovery to update to 4.4.2 if a .zip file for the update is available. You can also use ODIN to flash the update. You will lose root unless you use a pre-rooted update file. The stock 4.4.2 update is in the General forums I believe.
Hello,
I've simple question.
Device rooted and TWRP v2.8.6.1 - SRKG2, stock lolipop 5.0.2 and i want to swap to MIUI v7 on 4.4.2.
Do i have to flash kitkat baseband's, kitkat bootstacks?
I'm lost a bit in this topic - about bootstacks and basebands working on our G2.
Regards.
You must flash kk bootloader and kk baseband because you downgrade kk from lp so require kk bootloader and baseband you can found kk bootloader in dorimanx's website
Sorry if this is the wrong section but I'm new to this forum. I previously installed Cloudy 3.3, and then I installed MIUI7: to do it I did a backup of my whole rom and then flashed the KitKat baseband. If I want to flash a Lollipop rom, do I have to flash the Lollipop baseband? Or can i just restore my Cloudy rom?
You can restore Cloudy, it uses Kitkat kernel.
Okay, but let's pretend I wanted to install a Lollipop rom (like Cyanogenmod 12): can I keep the kitkat baseband or do I have to change it?
