Hello
I'm using stock russian lollipop rom, and i roortd and remove bloatware.
and estimated hours as you see in attachment, must be at least 12 hours, and battery life is not good.
is this lollipop issue? or because root?
any one have these issue with lollipop roms?

I9500 battery drains fast on stock Lollipop ROM for LYS, also it heats while using.
I contacted support and they said they are working on updates.

Stock VS CM12.1 based

Hello,
I haven't tried CM12.1 or other slim/resurection/ Dirty Unicorns roms because I would really miss stock apps from stock based roms.
So this is my question:
If I do love good picture quality and quickremote apk (and reliable bluetooth), can I still have them on non stock roms ? I would love to have a less battery eater rom but I am afraid of loosing these functionnalities.
Thanks all for your time
a flashcoolick
Tried some roms mate but believe me I'm still on 4.4.2 cloudystock, cloudy flex roms
That's due to :
Cyanogen won't support xdadebbs driver for camera
Battery life is still good on 5.1.1 but I think they having all those lg stock features and same or 1/2 hours more on cyanogen worths it
5.0.2 stock based updates made me furious due to many hangs and less battery life.
4.4.2 FTW
I have been using Inazuma and it's been great on my 802.

I9500 Kernel (Light Weight Kernel 20.4) Issues

There's only one kernel for i9500 CM, and after flashing LWK 20.4 my wifi stopped working and I've just dirty flashed CM12.1 on my phone again.
Well, since I can't post on development forum: is there anyone that can help me with this?
The original reason I've dabbled with kernels is the abhorrent battery life I was getting out of my box. Like, 6-10 hours with little to no usage!
When I've first installed gearCM about 5 months ago, battery life was tolerable. Not as good as stock firmware, but good enough to last the day. I've installed OTA updates every few weeks and after the latest such event (~2 weeks ago?) my battery just started to drain.
I've re-installed another rom, Resurrection Remix 5.5.8, which still drained battery. Now I'm on official CM 12.1 latest nightly. Google services crashes every now and then. I haven't really gotten a chance to test battery life, but I'm pessimistic.
What can I do about a good and functioning kernel with a stable ROM? (no TW please)
CM and CM-based roms I like most, but if LWK isn't going to work on them, what other ROM would you recommend?
Try PAC ROM 5.1.1
Hi,
Try GearMod kernel and let me know.

Best battery rom

Could please someone suggest me a lollipop or marshmallow ROM which has a decent battery life? I don't want return on KitKat because of the bad UI but it was the only version which has a good battery life. Waiting for suggestions...
+1 on that. Is there any Marshmallow ROM where doze and app standby actually work?
Try any rom of supports Doze!

Lollipop 5.1.1 or Marshmallow 6.0.1

Hey guys
I want to ask you a few things, i have installed a 6.0.1 custom rom on my J500M, too nice but yesterday a picked up the J5 of a friend and it has 5.1.1 and it was "faster" that my installed custom rom.
The question is that what do you prefer
5.1.1 or 6.0.1??
Wich is faster??
What do you thing
I have J500FN. It doesn't have MM update and I won't use MM even if it would have because I don't need to change from 5.1.1.
If features from latest version can be achieved on previous one, then I don't see a point in upgrading as long as you're good with the actual version.
Performance of phone can be downgraded by using crap apps like Facebook, Messenger and so on. Also, Xposed can make the phone slow.
Latest android version doesn't mean always better.
My opinion.
Tnks, i´ll downgrade too lollipop, i decided because MM isn´t the best friend of tocuhwiz, i prefer lollipop touchwiz rom
I upgraded my J500H to 6.0.1. And after few days of use I downgraded back to 5.1.1. There isn't much new things in 6.0.1 and I felt that my device is faster in 5.1.1. So prefer 5.1.1 & again this is my personal view others may disagree with me.
Marshmallow has heating problem ...so I had to downgrade to lollipop after using it ...but I am sure that battery life of marshmallow is way better than lollipop
no heating issue whatsoever , great battery life . security updates to keep malware away. what else could you wish for

stock or custom

hey i would you tell me to be on 5.0 official lollipop or flash custom rom with best battery life- i dont care slow or smooth,i want just good battery life. in official i would get 2-3hours with SOT
