Dear all, hopefully this thread wont be closed down before any dev sees it. I would like to ask any dev who is kind enough to assist our community (m9+ users), including rooting and s-off of m9+. Anything you need to make that happen, please do let me know how to get them and I will extract the necessary for you. Any other new m9+ users please feel free to propose anything. Thanks all.
I share your hope that somebody is going to help us root our m9+ soon
Not only root. I think it's very important to get an option to replace chinese only Sense restrictions.
1. For example there is no facebook updates option in blinkfeed.
2.
When you drag home button in the circle Hidi launchs instead of Google Search.
3. HTC themes and backup doesn't supports login via Google.
4.
5.
Let's continue the tasks.
Won't there be a more conventional Sense 7 experience say with the Indian or UAE versions of the M9+?

Totally agree with you, just a bit of patience
I'm waiting for the Chinese one arriving here soon. I don't promise anything, as I'm very low on free time this last year, but if anything, I'll be looking into kernel stuff.
So to start out with a question:
is it possible to unlock the bootloader on official site?
As I see, the kernel sources are not yet up on htcdev. I'll ping them on twitter later

Great!!
Yes,you can unlock the device(M9+) on the official site, htcdev, just like before.
The kernel source of M9+ is still not out yet.
Wait for it and look forward to your magic on this new potential SoC.

You need android to downgrade. The hd2 running winmo can't do it. I think he wants somebody to port it to the android hd2.
Maybe this will help?
http://psfreedom.com/wiki/HTC_HD2
No pr0x2, that just allows you to jailbreak the PS3 if you have firmware 3.41. This allows you to downgrade the firmware from 3.50 to 3.41.
Really good for anyone who has upgraded their firmware either by accident or had no choice as the upgrade was mandatory and didn't give you that choice.
its been done
psgroove.com/content.php?503-KaKaRoTo-Reverses-Jig-Master-Key-Added-to-PSFreedom
As much as I want this on the hd2, I just went ahead and ordered a e3 card reader for 15 shipped. I hated how I needed to boot into the patched android version everytime I wanted to play. Either way I hope it gets ported.

Ok so you guys are using Android as a tool to downgrade the firmware on a Playstation3?
Yes, if you are on v3.5 you can now download to v3.41. You however need to do it by using specific type of usb dongle sticks. Or by hopefully having some one port the code to an android built. Use google for more info...

Is no one afraid for getting banned in the future by sony?
if so, alot of us here would be banned for the amount of things we do especially, Microsoft, HTC, Samsung, Application Developers, Google, Apple, LG, etc...
Adding Sony to the list issnt that hard, especially Sony Erikson phones get "xda'ed" too
hmmmm.....interesting
So i need people who are willing to test this...
Only people who know advance knowledge apply...
For step first i need to know how many Atrix user using chinese atrix rom which have call recording feature?
Nobody interested?
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I guess no one here is using a Chinese rom? I wouldn't mind having the feature, i'd test anything you need me to.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
What would be the requirement to test? Blur ROMs? AOSP ROMs? I am interested in the call recording feature and would be willing to help test if I can, but I am not running the Chinese ROM..
first i need to know what is chinese rom version having this feature.
Actually i need some files from chinese rom but if nobody having it then i have to download and extract that some files which will take my time. But sill i have no idea which Chinese rom has this feature? As said by this user
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424928
i asked him files but i think he get online rare.
let see i'll wait more so more people read this thread then will take my next step.

Did you see this post? It seems its the hktw build that includes call record feature, I have never flashed that build personally but I remember it was one of the first Gingerbread builds leaked for the Atrix (and was supposedly unstable?).. Knowing that you can understand my confusion, if that build does include call recording then why is it just now being brought up in the forums when that build has been around forever and there are multiple threads about call recording with no mention.. Anyways, when you get ready for the testing step I would be down to help.
Not sure whether hktw edition of retail cn edition have the feature. I didn't flash them yet. These two may be different.
OK I work in IT so this lot should be a piece of cake to me
I have Xperia Arc and I love it I tend to use the Go Launcher ROM as I like some of the looks etc
Currently running 2.3.4 waiting patiently for ICS
Have read up on "flashing" and rooting BUT I just dont get it and the last thing I want to do is brick my phone.
Can someone out there please offer me a couple of simple pieces of advice

? You don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash a firmware if its signed using Sony's key?
If you want to update to ics, you can just get a ftf of the firmware and flash it.

Hi mate, a few months ago I was in the same boat. I build PCs, understand basic programming, etc etc but it's a whole new world these android phones! Haha very humbling to go from the guy everyone asks for answers
To the guy who has nothing but questions. Anyway point is I can relate.
When im at my pc a bit later I'll gather up all my bookmarks and links and dump em here for you! 99% of what you need is buried here in xda land so in the mean time... Start reading! Haha
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
if you've rooted your phone I'd recommend "sysTune" from the store - it's an easy way to change the running priorities in that you simply afford each process a number between -20 and +19 - the processes with the lowest numerical settings are given the highest priority and vice versa - it's an easy way to keep the speed right where you want it, and it's great for a really smooth launcher

Just with reference to this question, when I found out that ICS was available for my phone I just relocked my bootloader and upgraded via PC companion. However, my suspicions were confirmed from first boot into ICS, all the custom roms I had been using were much better!
But I thought you should know its very possible to relock your bootloader, so you might as well try a few custom roms while you wait for ICS.
Ive had my arc for about 6 months now and I have tried all the kernels and roms I could find, I reached the conclusion that Arconium ICS v4 Get Arconium ICS V4 here was the best for me. Im currently using Arcknight RC3 Get Arcknight Kernel here as my kernel but I have heard good things about using the stock kernel with CWM.
If your going to delve into the world of custom roms and kernels send me a PM and I would be happy to help with the processes you will need to go through.
The way I see it, there is no point in us both doing the 6 months of experimentation when I easily share what I've learnt with you
Currently this is a thread for testing CM13 builds, I will update the thread when builds are booting.
Current Status: Not Booting
Download Link (to a folder): Mod edit: GPL
Latest Zip Name: cm-13.0-20151209-UNOFFICIAL-m8qlul
Hi WildfireDEV. Do I understand it correctly that you personally don't have this device(m8s)? I was just curious how are you preparing the builds then? Do you get some support from voidzero?
------
Yes not so good to propose a roms without test before.... Even it's a good idea to work on this roms
Latest update is its not booting yet and we're a bit stumped as to why it isn't. Will continue in the new year, taking a little break for the holidays.
Good to see that cm13 is still being developed! Looking forward to it.
anything new?
I just wanted to let everybody that was wondering what the current status was. Currently I am still unable to get the build to boot past the white HTC screen. I will continue trying but i am not sure how far I will get.
As of now it is unlikely I will be able to get CM13 to you guys anytime soon. It would be helpful in my opinion if HTC releases Marshmallow for the M8s.
I'm confused, I put CM13 on my HTC One M8 and it boots just fine. Only problem I have is with Google Play Services constantly failing.
Yes, dont work.
This the thread for M8s not M8
Hi, where is the source for this ROM? I have this device and am going to try and get it working. Thanks.
Could someone please check in the download folder. In the download folder there should be 2 new .img files. Please download both of them and rename them to boot.img and either replace the boot.img in the latest zip or flash it through fastboot. Test these two images and see if the boot will go further than what it did before. For example to the boot animation.
Any update on this?

MOTOROLA UTILITY BY THEREALDUFF1
View https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DdZhVae_p0 to see how I created this program !
Please like and subscribe to my youtube channel to encourage me to create more tools for the members of xda ! I really really appreciate it
This is a GUI based program, which I have started programming in python.
Unlike other tools, this one is specifically made for the Motorola G3.
This entire tool is foolproof, so if you think you may brick your device when flashing TWRP, or stock rom by typing the wrong command, this is the place to be!
All of the tools are included in the program, including the TWRP.img file, and ADB and Fastboot tools. The Motorola drivers are inside the zip, so you don't have to go searching for them !
I have updated Motorola Utility, to be able to work with marshmallow perfectly. V6.2 is uploaded now and is avalible at http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=17073
Lollipop Version Available In Downloads Section !
Features
-- Marshmallow Compatible
-- Moto G 2015 Specific
-- Roots Your Device
-- Flash TWRP
-- Flash Custom Roms ( Coming Soon !)
-- Flash Stock Rom
-- Safely Upgrade Your Device To Marshmallow (Coming From Lollipop Or Marshmallow Custom Rom)
-- Push Modded Zips To The Device(Coming soon to Motorola Utility Marshmallow !)
-- Lock The Bootloader
-- Troubleshoot Your Device For Problems (Currently In My Beta Version Of The Tool)
Information
This program is currently stable, and only finished and beta features are in the program.
If you would like to contribute to this project, feel free to drop me a message, or email me at [email protected]
In one of the comments, I have posted a screenshot of the program, if anyone would like to see it running

If it does , please to reply with your opinions on the program, as i would greatly appreciate your opinion. Open toolkit.py first, as that is the main program
Please take into account that this is a very early version of the program , and does not include all of the features in the description. This is a start point !
I am also 15 yrs old, so I have alot of time on my hands to work on this

The download link is up. Good job bro!
Very nice job dude... This was the application I eas waiting for... But does it unlocks bootloader?
Will you be able to root by booting to TWRP vice flashing boot to the G3?
Congrats with an end product. ?
I understand the handiness of such tools, but I've never been a fan of these GUI tools. Ultimately, the tool ends up coddling the new user and allows the lazy, support leech-type users to remain lazy and not learn what they're really doing.
Look at the support threads for Wug's Nexus toolkit as a great example.

I understand where you are coming from completely about lazy tech people , but this tool is intended for people who don't really know what they are doing , or don't want to risk bricking their phone in the flash progress.

I mostly agree, I appreciate that someone makes a tool like this, especially a 15 year old, but a certain niche of people are going to require being spoon fed even if the answer is in front of their face. I've said all along that a large majority of the people that have to get the latest Android and root it are doing it because everyone else is.
