apps problems

Hi all
I have been using froyo in my G3 (JPM version) with no problem. I installed go launcher ex and it worked perfect. But once i moved google maps into the main desk, and i used gps to get my ubication the mobile started to do strange things.
Google maps crash all the time, and then other applications start crashing as well.
I rebooted my mobile but while it was starting, google apps start crashing like calendar or gmail. I unistalled "go launcher ex" and i thought the problem was solved... but yesterday i got the same problem... Sometimes i can start the apps but suddently all apps start crashing and i cannot open any of them so i need to reboot the mobile again.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Maby your phone cache is full. You could try 1tab cleaner (free). I had the same. After cleaning the cache is doesn't happen again.
Thanks mate.
I hope it works.

[Q] Maps always on (CM10)

Has anyone else the problem that google maps constantly turns itself on in the background and starts collecting memory?
Everytime I used my phone some time and I look up active apps, there is maps with about 60mb ram. And this when ram is scarce anyway and apps constantly have to be loaded new? The process in question is com.google.android.apps.maps, but the process that nees so much ram very often is com.google.android.apps.maps:GoogleLocationService .
I disabled every location based feature I could find, therefore I see no reason at all for maps to run. I am thinking about uninstalling maps, but I use it sometimes..
Any hints?
Edit : This keeps constantly popping up in my logcat:
E/KeyguardStatusView( 2992): ERROR: Could not get Location code
W/System.err( 2992): java.lang.NullPointerException
W/System.err( 2992): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.KeyguardStatusViewManager$1$1.run(KeyguardStatusViewManager.java:334)
Disabling the weather widget solved this, maps however still turns itself on. I can not be the only one affected by this?

bump. nobody else has this problem? I can not believe this!
I had this problem.....as a workaround , I use titanium backup to freeze the app and defrost it when needed.
Or use other apps like sygic maps where you can use offline maps....and of course uninstall google maps.

I uninstalled it because I need the memory for other applications, drives you mad when every new app you go to has to load and then the old one again when you go bad. I am wondering why there is no bigger response, I found no way to stop maps without uninstalling.
Surely somebody else encountered this problem?

I had the same problem and uninstalled it with titanium backup but I keep the backup just in case, I also already had Sygic installed and use that much better for NAV anyways.

I acknowledge this is a valid solution, albeit not one I would like to use.
I love maps and want to keep using it, but this memory consumption kills it for me.
maybe try the app autostarts...
same thing happened with me it consumes more memory from Ram. I recently updated to Google maps latest one and the problem has arrived . Before on old Google maps when i stopped the process it won't run until next when i open the app . But when i updated to latest Google maps it runs at background although i stopped and it again starts automatically. So i decided to uninstalled it to save more ram for my other applications.

Gemini App Manager is a good tool for disabling autostarts for apps that won't stay dead. You need to be careful with it, though, as you can break stuff eg stop Google Play from auto-running and you won't get automatic app updates.
I recently saw an app in play store that would auto-defrost an app when you click on it, run it, nd when closing, freeze it again, all on the fly. Stop that map sucker dead n its tracks until you really need it.
Unfortunately I can't remember the name. You will have to search.
[edit] Root Uninstaller.

Google Currents keeps crashing 4.2.2 N10

Hi guys,
I noticed that after the 4.2.2 OTA update on my N10, that my Google Currents app continues to crash every time I launch it. I've rebooted my device many times but to no avail, it doesn't let me keep Currents open for longer than 3 seconds
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Agree with y2whisper -
You could try going to Settings / Apps and finding Currents, and then clearing Cache and Data and starting it up again. Or you could uninstall it, go to the Play Store and download / install a fresh copy of the latest version.

I have a similar thing happen, mainly on any mapping software. Google maps, copilot etc.
Can be a bit frustrating when it exits while navigating.
Hoping marshmallow sorts it

For me just some games, wordox, yathzee buddies, adventure capitalist and some apps, appy geek.....
All the phone works perfectly
I have the same problem.
I can't play my game anymore. Tried factory reseting for like 5-6 times. After each reset, I re-download, then the apps can start. But after the first run, it always force close again.
I had the same problem yesterday, couldn't even start the market. After removing the updates it worked again, and I could reinstall the broken apps. Now they work again (for now). I have rooted and the 140 update.
Me too, same problem, after b140 installation.
Fb and instagram are not working.
Tried to have a clean installation, but nothing is changed.

I hope someone give us a marshmallow bĂȘta rom soon....
Have either of you been playing with app permissions? Wondering if this is causing the apps to crash.

Google Maps freezing on startup (9.27.1)

Hi,
Has anyone noticed that the latest version of google maps v9.27.1 seems to freeze up for about 10 seconds during startup? I've cleared the app cache and data but it still does the same.
I noticed it's also been reported here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/maps/BnGAtwxM818/YGgsmNNSBgAJ and seems to be affecting mainly Samsung owners.
Cheers,
Darthy
