Were you able to root your phone after the update?
Because for me the update disabled root and I'm not able to root again. Tried using kingoroot and vroot.
Edit: root working fine. Had a problem because of poor internet connection.

i uninstalled root b4 upgrading and reinstalled it back using kingo root which is working fine...

That's because you've deleted some of the system apps. Restore them and try to update again.
Got it also, but can't update with less than 35% of battery charge...

Hey I updated also.. But have one question, why we have the Gameloft stupid games and some apps now after Kitkat update?? Can I uninstall them? Or it's going to be a problem in future?

I tried to upgrade my Elife E7 kitkat (flashing months ago with E7_0301_v8143_KKv2_CWM-FORUMPITTECH.zip and TWRP recovery...) but I get an error when system is verified ... /system/priv-app/Amigo_Navi Launcher.apk has unexpected contents... I haven't deleted any file. I tried to flash Indiam Rom with kitkat from the beginning but nothing, Ican't upgrade it and get the same error.... What can I do? Can someone upload this apk file?? If the app managers gives u an option to uninstall then u can do that. but do not root uninstall, then ota would be a prob.

Yes.. some bloatwares u can easily uninstall from app manager n for some u require root.. just do not root uninstall app.. otherwise u r fine with OTA..

I solved my problems... flashing kitkat Rom (from xdafirmware.com ) through GN_Qcom tool and using drivers included in the zip!!! I have 4.4.10 version now

My XT1063 got notification for Lollipop update yesterday, so I downloaded and installed the update. I was so excited, but then the installation stopped for no reason then this pops up after the phone reboots. Then I download and start the installation for 3-4 times, but it's still not working, it just stops in the middle then this message pops up.
Anyone can help me please. I would appreciate any advice!

You rooted your phone? If yes, you have to uninstall SuperSU before update via OTA or it will not work.

The update will not be succesfull because you are rooted. You must delete it.

Nope it wont delete anything. You can delete it by clicking on SuperSU, scroll down to the bottom and somewhere there stand delete superSU. I got my root in dutch so here a bit an useless screenshot

Try it again after a factory reset...
u must have done something to the phone when it had root access, maybe change something in build.prop??
Just factory reset it and try again.

what type of apps did u use which required root access?
one of those apps u used before unrooting must have altered the phone info and now it thinks its gionee and not General Mobile

for example Es Explorer, root explorer, system uninstaller, i want to use this apps tha's why i rooted my phone.
By the way how can i install latest general mobile elite stock rom? for example i installing latest stock rom with odin for my note 3 but i don't know how to install elite rom with pc. maybe my problem will be ok if i install latest stock elite rom.

Download OTA file 4.4.2 and rename this update.zip and put in the root of the phone. Go in recovery mode and install this. If you have a problem contact me.

i unrooted phone then formatted and wipe cache after these tired to install update.zip file in recovery but i got same error. i gonna be crazy coz of this error. am i the only person in this forum who got this error?

Dont update cwm or twrp. Only install original recovery. If install the update lost the root. Root the phone iroot.

okzzz dtock recovery is working but unable to install update being abort even after unroot the device.

The only thing worth noting there is the Stage Fear Bug Fix. I'd rather installed it separately, than pushed whole update (stuffed with Amigo bloatware) onto my phone.

Don't worry you can still use kingroot afterwards. Just update and re-root

I am having the same problem, please let me know if you have any progress. I rooted using KingRoot then I got system message warnings about my rooted device which I ignored later I updated and tried to re-root and KingRoot says root strategy unavailable I have tried root methods like KingRoot, KingoRoot (App and PC version) iRoot and Framaroot.

I'm not a fan of KingRoot at all.
I use the Wondershare PC Software. And when it's done, It also installs SuperSU afterwards purely for Root Management.
I know that there are those who are successful with KingRoot and I'm happy for them but, i, personally, find that KingRoot makes more work than really needed.
This is purely my opinion and recommendation.

Hello everyone.
My phone did a self factory reset 2 weeks ago, and root was still there, but unsuable (if i accept or refuse, it will spam the pop up and will not do anything)
I flashed CF with Odin to root it again, but was stuck on samsung logo, even after 30min, so I removed battery.
After this, I'm kinda stuck. My internal storage (or the entire phone?) is on read-only, and I can't restorecon via adb because I don't have root permissions.
Should I flash this firmware on my phone to make it back to default? (root removed, internal storage still available and data not wiped)
Is there another solution?

If your phone was running a stock ROM, flashing the same stock ROM with Odin should leave the data intact.

I've smashed that thanks button, will flash the ROM on my phone and will come back for updates.
Quick update : flashing the ROM solved my problems with internal storage locked and root.
But I flashed the CF again, and it did the same problem.
Is it so old that there's no method to root a Note 3 4.4.2?
I managed to do it a long time ago, but don't remember what I've used.
Any help for that?
