[Q] DU Sleep battery Saver PRO - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Do you need root capabilities to use DU Sleep Battery Saver PRO? Developer updated the app and fixed the bug. It's working great now. So, I was wondering if PRO would require root. Thank you.

Android System Battery drain (oreo)

Android system is using lot of battery more than screen. It's not optimised well. any fixes?
Same here. And I did a factory reset after updating to Oreo... High android system battery drain, I wonder what happened? Hopefully we got a fix soon.
Same here even after factory resetting android system draining most of the battery.
Is it really draining or do you only see it in stats? To be honest I stopped checking detailed battery stats, looking at discharging rate chart + idle battery drain (when the screen is off) are usually enough to say if there is a problem. Battery usage chart should be almost flat when you don't use your phone, Oreo has quite strong and fast doze mode.
Make sure it's really draining because Bluetooth shows me 12000+mAh spent with 80% battery left so obviously a bug in the charts not in the system itself. (Same goes for RCS)
Same here. I have RCS first in battery consumption then the screen. With nougat the chart of the battery had flat zones. With Oreo the chart is always descending even when not using the phone
We must wait for the january update, i think it will be fixed

same issue with me. I have not checked for the January patch yet. I am rooted via magisk, lovin' the gcam in mi a1.
the bluetooth battery drain issue is the only problem in my unit so far.
I too had the system battery drain problem.I solved it by removing my SD card and disabling "backup" in setting menu.
I got the same problem after updating to the January patch.
I read that the "APP preview messages" in Google options can be the problem, so i am checking this out with and without the option and look a the wakelock detector what it does.

Damn, do you have wakelock detector lite installed? Just install it and keep it running for a couple of hours he will show you more information.
I've found that is that kernel wakeup: 7000000.ssusb that keep my phone alive also in standby...someone else with this problem? any solution? Thanks.

You can fix the standby battery drain by enabling "Data Saver"
Yes, I did say DATA, not battery saver
Go to settings and type "data saver" in the search box - switch it on.
I have stock OREO ROM, no fancy battery saving apps or custom kernel.

Battery issue overnight

Hi guys, I have a little battery issue over night I'm loosing about 4-5% every night ..
I have a OnePlus 5 on open beta 4 everything stock.. and clean flashed when it was out (factory reset after updating with full zip)
When I look in gsam my phone is awake only 10 minutes over 8h of sleep.. so it's not a wakelock I think because the only wakelock I get is netmgr_wl which is a kernel wakelock
I only disable WiFi and Bluetooth and put my phone on DND when I go to sleep
Mobile data is on, NFC on, location on and that's all
I've read here like 2 weeks ago that putting the phone face down help with over night discharge .. but it didn't helped me !
How come that I lose this much compared to some here who are loosing only 1%
Do you know a fix or something that can help me ?

Maybe the others that loosing 1% don't sleep so long, disabled cellphone, used other apps, using no location services at all, disabled Nfc, don't use Google app. There's a lot you can do. But for detailed investigation please do record that behavior with better battery stats and provide a dump file.

+1
Basically, you don't need to disable the cellphone (aka enabling Airplane mode) but if you disable Mobile Data it already helps a lot. If you disable Mobile Data and WiFi, you should get the same 1% battery drain others are reporting.
On a side note, I should add that I drifted away from trying to conserve battery drain because I became a fan of the Always On display app, which makes it convenient to see the time in the night or early morning without having to touch my phone.

Can you share your methods/KA config to save battery life ?

Almost all Oreo rom I used has standby drain problem.. maybe. Any kernel config to reduce the battery drain?

Do you toggle data / wifi / GPS / and so ?
I never have drain (about 1-2% over night) but actually i always switch off everything till i need it, an old habit.
Device is always on though, i don't use plane mode.
Maybe it is one of these feature's sleep that causes it.

IND: Facing battery drain overnight after miui 12 stable update

Hello,
I am facing standby battery drain issue after updating to miui 12 on my Redmi k20 India(davinciin).
Any way to solve it? No apps are running in background, I have checked in Autostart, data and wifi is off.
Regular usage backup is pretty decent and no drain there but as soon as I turn off data and go to sleep my phone drains 10-15% in 8hours.
If anyone has any idea as to why this is happening please help me as I think its too soon for a battery health to be depleted (phone is 11months old)
Edit: I have locked bootloader and can’t unlock it as this is my workplace phine and some of my apps dont work on unlocked BL

Mobile Network Standby battery drain (wifi only phone)

Hello, I have a Moto g4 plus that I am using without a sim card. I have it at home for my children to use skype. The problem is the battery drains really fast because of "Mobile Network Standby".
It is on the standard rom that came with the phone, Android 8 I believe, and I am developer.
I have disabled the keep mobile active toggle in the developer menu but it doesn't help.
Can anyone help me?

Have you tried putting the phone into airplane mode then turn on the wifi separately? Also make sure location is turned off unless you need it.
Thank you! I didn't know you could turn the wifi back on after going into airplane mode. That eliminated the network standby battery drain. Now the only thing draining the battery during sleep is "phone idle" but I don't think there is any way to help with that.

If your bootloader is unlockable you could install Lineageos or something stable without installing Gapps. Then go to apkmirror and download skype from there. It may help with battery since Google wouldn't be using resources and could save battery.
