"flashboot flash beta.zip" is that right, or do i need something else?

just like the title says,
flashboot flash beta.zip
is that right, or do i need something else?
(I used mramirez's auto-script to unlock it, if it makes a diff)
and does anyone know for sure if CM7 has that f%&! motoblur removed?
i know how to use search, but i'm tired and i've been reading all night to get this far, just hoping for a couple of quick answers. If anyone knows i'd appreciate it...

follow the directions for flashing a ROM and for the love of pete, read and actually understand what you are doing. dont just blindly follow some damn walkthroughs and expect to be able to get out of any jam

Yes it has ALL motoblur removed. To install do the following
*NOTE* BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING BACKUP YOUR APPS USING TITANIUM BACKUPS, YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA
1. Download Rom manager from the market.
2. Flash Clockwork mod recovery image(first option in the app)
3. When you successfully flashed the recovery(it'll tell you) click the the second option "Reboot in recovery"
4. MAKE BACKUP! In backup and restore ( use volume keys to go up and down and power button to select.)
5. When backup finishes, choose Wipe data/factory reset, then wipe cache, then in the advanced menu, wipe dalvic cache.
6. Choose install zip from sd, and choose beta.zip and gAPPs.zip.
7. Then reboot system now and you should boot in to cm7.

My advice to you is to be careful with yer phone. Flashing stuff, especially if it's CM7 which is not based on anything that the other ROMs are based on, is not something to do lightly. It's in beta, and it has bugs. If you want a working ROM that's similar to stock but deblurred and fast, run Homebase. CM7 is in a testing stage and even though it's a great ROM, and is my daily driver, it's going to have things about it that may bother you if you just want a ROM that works like stock.

you are definitely quickly on your way to a brick, if you are going completely out of order
and this isnt a 'droid'. its an android phone/device. 'droid' is the name that verizon gave some of their android devices...and has forever tainted the rest of the android devices lines....people keep calling them 'droid' without knowing what it means.

step 1. unlock bootloader
step 2. flash recovery (use the fastboot flash recovery method to bypass having to root it)
step 3. flash ROM
step 4. get bored with ROM, flash new ROM
step 5. see step 4

dude, yeah, its unlocked, and yeah, i know what android was. i tried to put it on my htc620 a few years back but couldn't ever get it to boot right with harrier

'droid' is one of those pet peeves i have.....one of many
you need to read up on what motoblur is, understand what options the different roms provide you, and pick for yourself.
personally, my atrix sat around collecting dust for months, while i waited on unlocked bootloader and CM7. its running CM7 and i have gone back to using the atrix as my daily phone for now. i couldnt stand motoblur

well, yeah, prob is i wanna get this phone up as quick as possible and yall know it takes a lot of time to go through every suggestion on wut the best method is and then havin to weed through the problems ppl had and try to determine which are actualy problems and which r ppl just bein dumb, and thats just before u start even doing anything.

Unrooting a GT P1000 UK model...

My GT has suddenly developed quite a few dead pixels on screen (they weren't there last night!) I rooted it using CFRoot last week but I guess I'd better un-root to send it back to Samsung or they may not be too happy about my warranty
Can anyone please tell me how to un-root it? It took me ages to build up enough guts to root it a few days ago now I have to undo all my hard(ish) work!!

Sorry about that! I was in the middle of a "lack of knowledge" panic attack !!
I'll download the app and using that. What are these dead pixel fixing apps? I thought dead pixels were a hardware issue?

Im really sorry to bother you guys again but I can't see Z4 root in the android market at all!
Is it no longer available?
I rooted the Tab using Odin and the CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS file when I updated to 2.3.3. Is there some way to undo this using Odin?
Apparently I need to remove all traces of rooting from the device or Samsung wont honour any warranty...

Sure, no mystery! I just re-flashed it with the stock ROM and that did it. I'm sure that there's a simpler way but to be honest, this only took 10 mins so I went for that instead!

Can somebody please install and use apk extractor to get APK then email to me? Now that i have installed it, even if i reinstall phone i can install the app and i can get future updates, its weird how they have it set up but if you successfully install out of market app then you can download it straight from GP in the future! If you ever need an american app let me know I should have tried xda first went to soo many shady websites trying to find apk and my phone says it cant use vpn for some reason maybe because i have such a debloated ROM.

I powered it up and it took an update yesterday so its at the latest.

Thanks for the non-help but I have searched for over 3 hours on this site and many others. The threads are 2013 & 2014 in case you are wondering it is 5-15 and nothing new on this for 5 or 6 months.

did you try frameroot?

I'm not sure why non of the guides work for you. I used the root tool in ouyas own store the other day on an ouya my friend didn't want anymore and it worked fine.

Like a couple years ago when I rooted my first ouya I used fastboot and cwm. But I'm pretty sure there was an all in one ouya adb tool that would did everything you could possible need root cwm Roms backups I will have to take a look when I get home but I have the apk on a backup drive somewhere. I will try to find it for you.

Correct. I did it last night with a mix of Kingroot (older version, the new stops working at 18%) and the updated xposed and playstore zip file.
If anyone needs, and if it's allowed, I will post the files later.

Since we now have a working "TWRP", it would be great to have a real Custom ROM. Not to degrade xXx and the other Magisk "ROMs" (using xXx now), but TWRP flash-able ROMs would be great.

Are there any limitations or dangers with that version we should know about? I'd risk it just for the ability to make a solid backup right now.
Can anyone point me in the right direction without breaking XDA policy??

Oh cuz they can't see source. You have no idea what could be loaded in there. Whether it works or not. The point is there COULD be malware or spyware or whatever loaded and you would have no idea

Let me ask you a question. How do you know that normal open-source TWRP doesn't have malware in it?
The reason why 'main devs' as you call them won't accept it, is because of licensing and money. And also embarrassment because they can't figure out how to get a version booting.
The wonderful thing is we can all do what we wish to do. you can use ADB and make your life infinitely harder, and I'll keep using TWRP and accomplish things in a fraction of the time.

just to let you know as most of us devs live here on xda and our friends are devs and are working our asses off to get things going like our main twrp dev who has always provided us with twrp since op6 and is working on it now for 3 different devices which now is super hard being our current partitions and such . ... . Fair warning if most of you realized what sacrifices we do so you can have fun with your devices the time and countless hours ( not minutes ) we spend you should think about that and if it wasn't for us you all wouldn't have nothing enough said .

In case you can't tell the 7t pro still doesn't have a working TWRP. 8 whole months later. There's a working TWRP for OnePlus 8 pro right now. why do you care if someone is using it? How is using a Chinese TWRP going to hurt development? It's not. I'm going to share it with each and every person that asks for i. Because we deserve to use something beyond crappy ADB.

Chinese recovery works just fine. I was running custom TWRP recovery by this Chinese locked LR. Team two years ago on my Xiaomi Mi Pad, and nothing wrong happened. You all could wait year or more for official relase as development is going very slow, or enjoy it now.

I think that you dont know what you are talking about. Those scanners that you use dont detect back ports etc..
