Hi
I have a problem with my Galaxy S4 i9505 (I9505XXUFNB9). I can't get any data connection when i flash to a rom running Android 5.x. I've tried many different kinds (e.g. Cyanogenmod, Slimrom). There's just an exclamation mark next to the data symbol. Enabling roaming doesn't work, and changing to LTE etc. doesnt either. So i am beginning to suspect that it's a problem related to my phone and Android 5.x. When installing a custom rom i've used the version specific to my phone (jfltexx). There's no problem with the data connection running an Android version below 5.
Thanks in advance.
Did you update your modem?

I figured that could be the issue, and i was previously looking into that but i gave up when i couldn't find a modem that seemed to match my model. Also i was worried if flashing the modem would be irreversible.
Could anyone point me to where i can find the correct modem update?

If you don't know exactly how it works, then you also just flash one of the latest lollipop firmware versions our here.
OK, this is driving me crazy :S Today i decided to try two more custom 5.x roms before flashing the modem. I tried both the Omega and the Goldeneye custom roms. And now the problem was the WI-FI connection didn't work! I couldn't even enable the WI-FI connection at all. But the data connection worked...
Then i tried flashing several different modems (I9505XXUFNDG, I9505XXUFNB9, and I9505XXUFNC9), including the WI-FI fix from the thread above (NON-HLOS.bin), and none of it solved the WI-FI issue.
For now i've downgraded to the stock Android 4.4.2 rom...

Hi I recently flashed my SM-N9005 to ZHUENB5 (official all-in-one, Odin). There was no signal (GSM or Wi-Fi) after that. I then tried flashing NB5 & NB1 modems but neither worked. After flashing XXUBMI5 (modem only) I was able to get HSPA+ signals & make phone calls. However I still got no Wi-Fi connection even though it says connected & show a Wi-Fi icon in status bar (other phones work), no matter in official ROM or CM11.
Any suggestion? Why the official all-in-one does not work (I checked re-partition while flashing but the pit file is for 16G whereas my phone is 32G)? I guess I should try other modems? It already bothered me for a couple of days so your help is very much appreciated.

To answer my own question, after so many attempts it turns out that only flashing a 4.3 modem over a 4.4 stock ROM solved my problem (even 4.4 stock won't work without flashing another 4.3 modem). That's really weird! Hardware issue?

Not hardware no, HK Firmware issue I guess. HK fw is a strange one with the N3, causes so many issues. - Least you figured it out though :victory:
I have a N900W8, and most ROM builds are for N9005.
I have never had a problem flashing N9005 builds, and all radios working fine, until I tried to flash Audax 11 (running Audax 10.8 now).
After flashing, during the initial setup screens, the WiFi toggle doesn't respond at all. Even if i skip through the rest of the setup, WiFi does not turn on at all.
I tried flashing XNOTE 21, and had the same problem.
Anyone have any ideas?
Baseband is N900W8VLUCNB7, if that matters.
May sound stupid but try flashing a full stock rom package via odin and check if it works with stock roms. That would be the first thing I'd try. Maybe some rom you tried included a modem/baseband that it causing the issue. Flashing back to stock and then switching to another rom again may help.
Flashing stock ROM won't help, and OP is correct. There are some ROMs indeed where WiFi just stops working. I flashed a ROM like that few days ago, I won't name it because of whatever reasons, but it is considered one of the most popular ROM for N9005 and N900T or some model and can be found under T Mobile section, and after flashing the ROM my WiFi just wouldn't turn on. I don't know what was the reason, didn't care to be honest, but then I saw that there are some flash-able zip packages which fixes the issue, again, didn't care to flash those so called fixes.
So OP might wanna look for one of those package for the ROM he is using.
Ok here is what is been happening so far..
I was on Kitkat 4.4.4 on a i9505 (can't remember the baseband info for that model - never had issues with it). I decided to update. So I downloaded a LP ROM and went ahead and backed up and then installed it. Everything seemed to be working fine except my mobile data connection. It would be stuck on 3G or H+ and when it hit the LTE (4G) it would have one bar. I never had this issue before. I was always on full LTE bars as the tower isn't far from my house.
I followed instructions n how to install new modem with LTE and how to update the bootloader accordingly. I tried more than 15 different modems with no luck.
When that failed, I flashed the stock LP ROM from SamMobile - same issue. So I decided to downgrade again to KitKat and flashed another ROM from SamMobile which is issued by Optus Australia and that failed too.
It's like there is a setting that isn't changing with flashing ROMs and stock ROMS. Basebands get updated and nothing.. I'm barely downloading at 600kbs where I was averaging minimum 1.5mb/s.
I don't know what else I've missed.. surely the stock KK ROM would've fixed the issue.. but nothing, as if I don't have LTE anymore.
You're help is much appreciated.
Over this issue =\ just want it gone.

I have flashed anything and everything to fix this issue with no luck.
Hello,
I recently bought a LG Nexus 4. I hooked it to my home WiFi and noticed some problems.
The problem is that some sites are not getting loaded. Very slow load time.
For example google is loading pretty good but when i try Facebook around 4-5 minutes to load.
But when I am on cell network the internet connection is good.
I factory reset the device and still no fix. I haven't tried other WiFi networks.
Please advice.
Is the phone running the latest ROM, bootloader, and modem?

It isn't falshed with bootloader nor ROM
Just stock android lastest update.
The modem is the latest version firmware.
I tried it with other Wi-Fi - no success.
Could it be possible that the Wi-Fi module is damaged?

It's an old and well know problem.
Take a look at this tread and flash the fix. It's working in Lollipop too, but you need a custom recovery.

I will take a look at it. thank you, very much.
The problem had fixed with updating the firmware of the rooter.
The brand and model was:
Tenda W307R
Setup:
rooted note 4 910F Snapdragon
Nameless Rom V5
POK1 modem
While I'm at work (an area with a weak signal) I sometimes get the "Refreshing SIM Data" error randomly. enabling DATA roaming helped a bit, but not enough. It used to happened on earlier lollipop modems as well from what I recall.
read about this on google, did the standard stuff but nothing solved it completely. last solution I will try is suggested in this thread, stating that reverting the modem only back to kitkat version may solve this.
just to be sure, I won't brick my phone if i install kitkat modem on a lollipop rom?
if it's somehow safe, which kitkat modem should i install? can someone please give a link?
thanks.
