picasa pics availalbe Offline even though Offline is not chosen

I have none of my picasa Albums selected of "view offline" however if I turn wireless off. I can still view the pictures. I plan to upload alot of pics to Picasa and don't want to fill my nexus up. I also noticed that my nexus 7 became laggy after I started putting pictures up on Picasa. I just want to make sure that it is copying all my pics down to the nexus.
Have you found an answer to this yet? I also have been trying to figure out the same thing. I thought at first it was just the thumbnails but once I view an album the pictures seem to remain cached despite my offline setting.
Isn't this to do with G+ instant upload???? Go to accounts in settings Google, then look at what syncs turn off Google pictures and instant upload and anything else that resembles g+ go to apps All scroll to gallery clear data and reboot and they'll be gone
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, from what I've gathered it is the G+ instant and Google Pictures sync that adds the "picassa" albums to the gallery. I actually wanted my picasa albums in my gallery, however as I have over 100 albums I wanted them visible and accessible when online (to save space). I only want to chose a few select albums (kids, work stuff, etc) to make "available offline" but so far it appears as soon as I view an album it saves the full images in cache and still shows up when I'm offline, I don't want my storage getting eaten up by pictures that I only plan to view when online.

Edit Picasa Pictures in Gallery makes Gallery FC

I have a Problem, which is really annoying me:
If I try to:
- edit
- cut
- choose as picture in the picture-frame-widget
from my Picasa Web albums (either Profilefotos or Instantupload Album) in my GoogleGallery app, my gallery forcecloses. ALso if I try to share a picture from said Albums by whatsapp or Gmail or whatever, I just opens whatsapp without sending the attachment.
I have no problem if I choose a picture from my internal storage with all the actions above.
I run CM 10.1. I also restored my STOCK IMAGE and still get the same Problem.
Now the weird thing is: ca 1 week ago, I had no problems with e.g. editing my picasa pictures, my Gallery didn't FC and saved my Edited picture in a folder named "EditedOnlinePhotos" and I was on CM 10.1.
I can't remember what I've changed since then, but now I can't edit, share etc. my Picasa Pictures, but I can view them without problem, and my Albums also Syncing without any issue.
PS: If I try to edit a Picture from picasa, it Forcecloses but anyway creates the folder "EditedOnlinePhotos".
please somebody help, I'd really appreciate that
(sry for my bad english, I'm german )
Did you freeze anything related to picasa?
Try other apps like snapseed, picsart, they do the job

Nexus 4 Instant Upload issue

Hi! I have an annoying issue with google instant upload. If I go to my gallery and settings and I go to the synced accounts , it is selected in the google account , the google photos and instant upload are selected. Now , for whatever reason in the gallery I have the Camera folder and two instant upload folders.... one of them is the normal one with all the photos and one is empty. That one dissapears only when I go to picasa web albums and delete de empty album but that doesn;t work because everytime I take a new photo that empty album appears again and it has as name the date I took the picture. Can someone please help me to fix this and only appear a single instant upload folder?
PS I already tried this: I disable instant upload and only let google photos but then it won't upload the pics anymore; If i disable google photos and let only instant upload it happens exactly the same
It has been assumed that this is a bug on Google's side with the transition away from Picasa to G+. There is only one way I know to get rid of it and that is to delete both folders and then turn photo sharing off. Instant upload will still work, but the albums will no longer keep appearing in Gallery.

local folders not showing in gallery

I've just faced a problem, suddenly all my local images and videos disappeared from my Gallery. Now I can only see facebook synced photos. Taking a picture and clicking the gallery shortcut shows no images/videos available. I cant make a new folder inside Gallery also. While My Files still show the files and can be opened. Help? :crying:

Where are my photos?

On my Nexus 6p 7.1.1 if I try to Google Photos see all my photos.
But if I search on my device in the DCIM folder I only see very few photos and several empty folders. Where are photos stored? In which path and folder?
I thought it might be in Google Drive. But why I see them on Google Photos also without internet connection (wifi or 4g)?
All of the many empty folders (IMG_2016 .....) I can delete them without any problems? or their cancellation makes me lose the pictures (stored somewhere)?
Thanks.

Click to collapse
Two things...
1) You can check picture location by going into Google Photos, click a picture, click the " i " (info) button on bottom. It will give you exact storage location. If there's no location and it just has the IMG, then it's on Google Photos website.
2) Google Drive may not show your photos unless you specifically tell it to. You must go to http://photos.google.com instead. Your drive and photos are most likely seperated
