Hey guys,
So I have an xperia z1 and over in that section we have a thread with a collection of the various FTF's I thought we could start one for the Xperia Z2 Tablet. It's important to note that please don't provide links to downloads which generate profit for yourself.
To flash FTF's its recommended that you use Flashtool which can be downloaded here
Here is a good guide on flashing FTF's by krabappel2548
If you would like to contribute by creating FTF's, here is another good guide by Apollo89
Please PM me the FTF details rather then filling the thread with individual posts and I will update this original post.
Lastly please provide with the download link the branding and customisation details. The customisation details can be found on the device by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* > Service info > Software info > Customization Version
Note: I'll try and keep this post up-to-date everyday but be aware I'm in Australia so my waking hours might be different to many

Is the any ROM for Xperia Z3+ Dual E6533 ?
Can anyone please post an FTF for E6553 (generic Hong Kong version)? I managed to brick my phone
Edit: Never mind - PC companion repair menu saved the device model in its history, so I'm good for now . But post it anyway if you could as we need to build a good FTF collection

I just successfully flashed my Z3+ (E6553) using Flashtool 0.9.18.6 - I used the device drivers of the Z2 (Flashmode Drivers, Fastboot Drivers and both Xperia Z2 Device Drivers).

few questions...
do you need to have the bootloader unlocked to use flashtool?
Also, I like in the USA and bought the z3+. The current CDA is HK generic which is version .24. I see that the generic UK version is .27. Is there an advantage to put the .27 firmware on the phone?

No. Unlocked Bootloader is just for rooting.

The only variants using 28.0.A.7.27 are "Customized UK" and "O2 Pay monthly UK". Every other variant is 28.0.A.7.24 or older. They often did that with the Z2 too and the main reason was because of bugs so I guess they released 28.0.A.7.24 for UK too but noticed some bugs, thus fixed these and released 28.0.A.7.27
28.0.A.7.24 and 28.0.A.7.27 should be the exact same Android version 5.0.2. If it were Android 5.1 or even 5.1.1 they would have used a much higher version number.

Thank you for your answer. One more question. If I upgrade to the UK generic version 0.27 , will pc companion still work for me in order to upgrade to higher versions as well?

Also, when you run flashtool do you run normal version or 64 version? Not sure if that is in reference to the device or the computer.

I can't say about Z3+ but for Z2 and here it still worked. Maybe Sony changed something with the Z3+ but I don't think so. In short (but without guarantee): yes, it should still work.

If your Computer Operating System (Windows / Mac / Linux) is 64-Bit use FlashTool64.exe and if not stick with the FlashTool.exe

Thank you. You have been helpful. That leads me to yet another question (I am a first time xperia user, I have used HTC up to this point).
In the flashtool I was able to choose the z3+ as my device. It was my understanding that the z3+ was not included yet., WIth that said there are options within the flashtool to root the device. IS that something that can be done now?
FTF E6553_28.0.A.7.27_1295-7703_R6A
Device: E6553
Version: 28.0.A.7.27
Country: UK
Provider: unbranded
Customization number: 1295-7703
Size: 2.071.057.904 Bytes
Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8gf20AKtya0Skw2ZmFGZXFnMWs/view?usp=sharing
1) Get latest Flashtool from http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php and install it
2) Run C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe and select Flashmode Drivers, Fastboot Drivers and both Xperia Z2 Device Drivers (there are no Z3+ drivers yet but the Z2 ones work great)
3) Download the FTF you want and save it in eg. C:\
4) Power Off your Z3+ and connect the microUSB cable to it (but leave it disconnected from the Computer)
5) Run C:\Flashtool\FlashTool.exe (or FlashTool64.exe if you have a 64-Bit Operating System on your Computer)
6) Click the Lightning icon on the very left
7) Select Flashmode and click OK
8) On the top select the path where you have your FTF downloaded
9) On the left select the firmware you want to flash
10) IMPORTANT: On the right in "Exclude :" select the checkbox next to TA
11) Click Flash
12) Wait some time
13) When asked (the green arrow window) press Volume down and connect the USB cable to your Computer
14) Flashing starts.
15) Check the main Flashtool window. It shows a log and that tells you when flashing is done. If you don't see any red lines everything went fine.
I strongly advise to NOT do anything with your Computer, its connected devices or cables as long as flashing is in progress. Don't even plug or unplug a thumb drive. I have a USB3.0 AddOn card and when I plug in a device my native USB2.0 ports are disconnected for a millisecond. That's not a problem for thumbdrives, etc. but this can brick your phone while it gets flashed.

You're welcome and congrats to your first Xperia
I have absolutely no clue about rooting. Never did it. Current version of Flashtool may successfully root your Z3+ or it may brick it. I have absolutely no clue. What I know is that the Z3+ is officially not supported yet (but thankfully at least flashing works because Sony didn't changed anything since at least Z2).

Yeah, there are some bad changes in the new flashtool version. Instead of simply selecting TA you now have to manually select each ta file. I'll update my quick guide but here's additionally what you have to do now:
Check the list below "Content :" and look for all entries ending with .ta (eg. cust-reset.ta). If you found one, search for the same entry in the "Exclude :" list (eg. CUST-RESET) and select it. Do this for every .ta entry shown in the "Content :" list.
Normally it's only CUST-RESET and FOTA-RESET. Sometimes you'll additionally have SIMLOCK
Additionally if you want to wipe your device while flashing it to a new firmware (was the default behavior until the latest flashtool version) you also have to check all three checkboxes (APPS_LOG, CACHE, USERDATA) in to top right "Wipe :" list!

Hi all!
I'm happy to say that, thanks to iovyroot, and with a lot of help from zxz0O0, we managed to create a new root tool for the Xperia M2, EagleRootTool, meaning we don't actually need to use Kingroot anymore to root LBL devices under latest Lollipop firmware :victory:
However, since this root binary is compatible with (probably) any kernel built before December 2015, I thought of making the tool compatible with some other devices, like your Z1, since it's actually very similar to my device.
Unfortunately, since this tool's based on some kernel-specific addresses, to make it compatible with other devices like the Z1, I need them from every single variant.
I'm going to take for reference all models and firmware build numbers from XperiFirm.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- An already rooted device in 14.6.A.1.236 (it doesn't matter if it was rooted by Kingroot, or via UBL methods).
- A little of Android general knowledge: Usage of ADB (mainly).
- Patience.
DEVICES:
- C6902
- C6903 ✓
- C6906
- C6943
HOW TO DO IT?:
Just open an ADB prompt and run a shell in it. Then, run the following commands, replacing the *location with storage/sdcard1 if you want to use your SD Card, or with data/media/0 if you want to use the internal memory.
Code:
su
cat /proc/version > /[COLOR="Purple"]*[/COLOR][COLOR="red"]location[/COLOR]/version.txt
echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/kptr_restrict
cat /proc/kallsyms > /[COLOR="Purple"]*[/COLOR][COLOR="red"]location[/COLOR]/kallsyms.txt
(remember to hit enter after each line of the above :silly
Now upload those two files (version.txt & kallsyms.txt) wherever you want, or attach them in your comment, saying which model they're from, and I'll add the required offsets to support your device manually!

can i root my Z1 SO-01f (Docomo) running latest lollipop and the model detected is C6903, with this?
Hello,
Does anyone know where I would be able to get any (Customized DE) Stock ROM for the Xperia X Compact (F5321)? I found the site xperiafirmware.com but they only offer the CE Version. I also tried to download and unpack the German Version with XperiFirm. But I couldn't manage to bundle the files with Flashtool, since there was no Xperia X Compact to select from the Devices Menu. And I also didn't know which files exactly to include and which not. Also what about the files in the "boot" folder, should they be included? I also can't upgrade the Phone via the "Emma" Flash Tool from Sony either, because the phone isn't recognized by it.
So the simplest solution would be to just be able to get the Stock ROM ftf File from somewhere or someone and flash it via the Xperia (non official) Flashtool.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Simon
You have to close all windows except main flashtool after downloading. Then file will be created. Do you need nougat or marshmallow?
Since there is no operating system currently installed on the phone and the update from Marshmallow to Nougat failed. I guess Marshmallow would be the best option to recover the phone.
And even if I close all windows, I still can't select the Xperia X Compact in the Flashtool Devices Menu.
Which version do you use? Here you can download latest MM ftf.
