Guys, i just bought an used Nexus 4 and after flashing the cwm recovery and trying to boot in the recovery mode i get a few errors stating:
cant mount cache/recovery
cant open cache/recovery
I notice there are a few topics about this and the solution is to adb push or something, but the adb push command wont work in recovery for me, says device not found and i know my drivers are correct since i can fastboot and do stuff.
I actually got the device running perfectly flashing Chroma via sideload, but cwm wont work! I cant access anything from inside cwm... I also tried twrp and no luck.
I also tried a full original image flash, no luck
Can you please help me with this?
Thanks

when you flashed the factory image it should have brought you back erasing and replacing everything. In fastboot did you flash the bootloader, radio, system partitions (.IMG), recovery partition, and so on.? If not try this steps guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312/page194 its pretty detailed but it helped me after I wiped everything off my phone trying to learn. If that's a bit too much then try searching for wugfresh nexus toolkit. Both will wipe everything from your nexus then replace it and should get everything going

After i flashed Kao Droid, my N7 cant boot to system, it just reset to recovery mod. Althoughi tried to wipe data, cache, davilk ...., but it cant boot to system. I read some forums, but all of them say same way " need to boot to bootloader" . I really scared, i just bought my N7 a few days. Please help me (
If you can boot into recovery, i guess that you already have try to flash again the ROM.
Don´t you make a nandroid backup before? Coz you could try to restore it...
Anyways, it seems that all you need to do is flash a bootloader. Maybe you can do it with the toolkit (i don´t know) or if not, just flash the bootloader using fastboot commands, search in the forum and you´ll find the way

You need the bootloader to use fastboot, if he borked it chances are hes gonna have to exchange/RMA
i dont know how to put a rom file on storage of N7 while i cant boot to system. Can you let me know? Please.
P/s: My English is not good, i'm so sorry
Can you get into the bootloader?
i think you are saying you CAN Boot into recovery.. im going to assume cwm..
once in cwm go into i think advance and then mount usb storage. (im using twrp and kinda cant get in my mind where its at in cwm)
Anyway plug usb to the computer and mount as storage. ADB Should work from within recovery. Then use adb from cmd prompt on your (assuming windows computer ) and push a new rom. to the sdcard. unmount the usb storage and flash the rom.. You might have to reboot- recovery..
if you do not know .how to do the above google how to mount usb from recovery and adb push commands..
There is another post with exact instructions.. myself and several others have done this not thinking and wiping out our data/ media then not having a rom to flash ..
wugs tool kit will also fix this for you . but i recommend doing some research and using adb..
if you are afraid of a cmd prompt . look for qtadb.. its a good place for newbie to start .. it looks kinda like a ftp client..
Good Luck .
hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds, and press volume down at tge same time. that should get you into your bootloader.
Thanks everybody for help me. I will try. If i have other problems i will ask later. Thanks again
Hello all,
I initally used the Wugz root toolkit to unlock, install drivers and root my device. I flashed CWM and a ROM. Once I flashed the ROM, it wouldn't boot, but would flash the google logo, go black, then go to the google logo and open up CWM again.
I searched for backups, they were gone. So I tried a few things and now I can't even get to CWM.
All I can get to is the Recovery menu and Stock Recovery. My computer won't recognize the device in adb fastboot but will recognize it when I put it into sideload from the stock recovery.
I've tried to flash the 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 images from the Google developer website but when it verifies the installation package it says installation aborted.
Is there any way I can fix this just from the Stock Recovery sideload? Is this hopelesss?

Thanks. I did try this first, I must have messed it up somewhere. I'll try it again. Not sure if it'll work without the device being recognized under fastboot.
To know if it's recognized type "fastboot devices" but if the driver were already installed it must be ok
Whew got it to work. Thanks.
I ****ed up my phone today I did full wipe (formatted internal storage too, so i can't flash any rom in recovery because there is nothing) and now i've been searching hours someone who can help me? In TWRP i can't mount anything to my pc (i do not know why?) AND adb says me "devices not found" or something like that so can't push any zip-file to my phone via adb sideload. Is there any way to reapir my phone? can someone help me? Thanks alot!
There was a bug in a bunch of recent twrp releases that causes adb to not work in recovery. Patched versions have been made, try finding one for your device.
Added:
If you can't find a patched version, flash cwm or philz recovery with fastboot, adb is working on both of those. You just need a rrcovery image and do
"fastboot flash recovery <recovery-file>.img"
In fastboot mode.
let's try it out!

See the edit to my first response. Fastboot is done in fastboot mode, not recovery, so you should be good. You just need the basic .img file of cwm or philz recovery.
If you are on win 7 try this:
http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
(Adb driver installer)
Run it when you turn adb sideload on in G2 and connect it to PC.
If it fails you still can go buy somewhere USB OTG cable (few bucks) and flash ROM from usb stick like me.
It appears that accessing fastboot pn the lg g2 is not so simple. Sorta like samsung phone deal, where a manufacturer download is used instead. From what I gather, recovery might need to be wiped to access fastboot, which you could do from terminal in twrp, but thats risky. Apparently, a lot of people have gotten stuck in fastboot mode. Best bet would be to reflash stock firmware through lg download mode. Also see this thread for a method to return to stock firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Once you are back to stock, just reroot and flash revovery, etc.
downloadmode should still work. go back to any kdz for your version
also source and versions post next time
Hello everyone,
I got a little problem with my Nexus 4 and that is that I can not boot my system anymore. An Android 4.4.4 factory image is already on my internal SD card but every time I try to install it TWRP says that it failed because it was unable to mount/usb-otg. Does anyone know how to fix that? Already tried with Wug's NRT but when I use the '' Flash stock + Unroot " option my device also ends in a bootloop.
Help would be appreciated!
Cheers
unable to mount usb-otg isn't an error that would cause flash to fail and is quite normal. You can't flash a factory image from TWRP however. You use fastboot mode and a pc.
This is a guide for how to use fastboot to flash the factory image: http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-flash-a-nexus-factory-image-manually.706533/
Thanks for replying!
Now I got the problem that I can't flash the bootloader. Everything works until I type: fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-mako-makoz30d
Always responds with: error: can't load 'bootloader-mako-makoz30d'
All files are placed into one folder thus it should work shouldn't it? Anybody knows what I'm doing wrong?
Cheers
Never mind, just forgot to type the ending .img
Worked, thanks for helping me
---EDIT, FIXED IT ALREADY, MORE INFO BELOW---
Dear members,
A little background; The installation of the latest Oxygen os (zip on storage - > twrp flash) failed.
I thought it was a good idea to wipe everything and reboot to start fresh.
Upon reboot I was unable to enter TWRP, only fastboot was possible.
When I flash twrp (by neither clockworkx or the bluex) the flash is successful but I cant boot into the recovery, also not by directly using fastboot boot recovery.img. When booting into recovery I get a black screen with only a white led.
So I decided to give the stock recovery a try and that one does boot up however I cant flash anything. When I use adb sideload it loads the file fine but then it errors with no error message.
I am getting suspicious that my internal memory is now corrupt so I am willing to give this msmtool a try which I have never touched so I would really appreciate some guidance. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance.
Other things I have tried:
I tried to flash the stock boot.img from the oxygen os using fastboot but it doesnt seem to be the problem.
---FIXED:---
Thanks to the wonderful documentation found at : /oneplus-5/how-to/guide-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3761706
I was able to fix it. If you are in the same pickle head over to his thread and thank him.
