Saving/Editing Lollipop Stock Browser Bookmarks - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 General

I've been looking for a way to backup the stock browsers bookmarks for a while (outside of Titanium Backup), and finally stumbled across the answer. They are stored in data/data/com.sec.android.app.sbrowser/databases/SBrowser.db. Copy that file wherever and edit if desired using an SQLite compatible editor. To delete the permanent carrier installed bookmarks, change their "Editable" flags from 0 to 1. I used DB Browser for SQLite for Windows. When copying back with Root Explorer, be sure to reset the permissions to match the old one. This location is true for Lollipop and KitKat at least.

Swipe restote

I used titanium backup to backup the new Swipe before removing it. I went to restore it and there is a checkbox next to the item, instead of the other logo. Basically the restore feature is grayed out for most items I backed up? I went to the directory the backup uses and there is a compressed file for swipe. If I open it, I see some data, but no apk file.
Question 1st is how do I find the apk to restore this?
Question 2 is why can't I restore all backed up files via titanium (paid version)? Scares me to think I was safe using this product.
Use astro and hit the search button. Type swype with no spaces and search. You might find the apk that way.

Well I just discovered something strange with most Apps backed up with titanium. If I click on a file that I backed up (say swipe from last update) and uninstalled via titanium, and I get a message that data was backed up, and but no apk present. Sure enough, if I click on the archived swipe file, I see a data file and folder and no apk. Why would titanium backup some files completely and partially with others?
Also, without doing a nand restore, which I really don't want to start from square one, how can I get the swipe apk from the last OTA? SwiftKey has been unreliable since their past two updates?
Thanks
Pull the APK from a stock rooted ROM's zip file.
TB usually won't backup /system apps because, y'know, they're in the non-writable system partition. Normally, they're still there, and normally, you don't mess with stuff in /system, nor should you copy stuff over from one ROM to another if it's a system app.

[SOLVED] Help Me Understand the Folder Structure

(i tried searching for similar threads... this was the only thing i can find sorta close)
i have the 16GB version, and i flashed CM10.1 M2 yesterday. i performed a wipe data so that i could start from fresh.
now i'm trying to restore app settings one at a time. the first one i tried to do was Nova Launcher.
i had connected my tablet to my computer, and copied over my backup to the following:
/Android/data/com.teslacoilsw.launcher/backup/
now when i go to Nova Launcher restore, it can't find it. it is looking for the backup in the following path:
/sdcard/data/com.teslacoilsw.launcher/backup/
so boot up Astro File Manager, and i found the following folders at the root level:
/sdcard/
/storage/emulated/0/
/storage/emulated/legacy/
/storage/sdcard0/
/storage/usbdisk/ (empty)
/usbdisk/ (empty)
the first 4 folders mentioned here all display the same files as if i was viewing them from my computer.
if i navigate to /Android/data/com.teslacoilsw.launcher/backup/ from any of these 4 folders, i'll see my Nova backup file.
i have no idea why Nova Launcher can't see my backup file to restore.
in a related note, i made a CWM nandroid. but when i go to /clockworkmod/ nothing is there except 2 hidden files (nomedia and settings). even tho from within CWM, it sees the backup.
-SOLVED-
in short, don't use Astro File Manager. i started to use ES File Explorer.
Look in /data/media/clockworkmod/backup for your backups.
when i go to the root level- /data/ this folder is empty.
(using Astro File Manager)
In Root Explorer or ES File Explorer you can navigate to /data/media/clockworkmod/backup. I don't know why Astro is not showing it, but I just checked in Astro and can't see it either. Astro is no longer listed as having root access after the latest updates. I can't add it in SuperSU. I think that's the problem for Astro.
yes! problem solved.
i didn't know Astro couldn't navigate to those folders anymore. stopped using that now.
on to ES File Explorer.
found where to put my Nova backups, and i found the CWM backups too.

How-to: Delete "Locked" bookmarks from stock browser

Must be rooted!
Need Root Browser with root permission.
Navigate to data>user>0.com.sec.android.app.sbrowser>app_sbrowser>default>bookmarks file
Make backup of the file named Bookmarks
Open the original file as a text file in Root Browser's text editor. Each line that has: "editable": "0" you will need to change the 0 into a 1
So it will look like: "editable": "1"
Save your edits and now you can go to the bookmarks in the stock browser and delete them.
haartilijk bedankt!!
Worked for me. The old trick of force closing the browser and clearing the app data wasn't working, but this method did the trick. Thanks!
Yes finally, I searched everywhere and this is the only method that worked. Thanks

Worked great. Easy after you know how to... Thanks a lot.
Can anyone follow the instructions and then copy/paste their txt file?
I messed with it too much (deleted whole paragraphs) now I don't know what order it goes, bookmarks are gone but on my top right corner the bookmark and window buttons are flipped, I rather have the window button where it was.
Just looking for the complete text of the bookmarks file from beginning to end.
I know I shouldn't have screw with it....

How to edit the /sbin/.magisk/config file to do seamless OTA with Magisk

After rooting with Magisk, users of Moto G6 are faced with the “Stock Rom does not exist” error at the Restore Images step of Magisk’s OTA Upgrade Guide. However, the following suggestion was made in the discussion following issue #1870 on Magisk’s git-page:
The backups should be kept in /data (/data/stock_boot_<hash>.img.gz)
You could probably edit /sbin/.magisk/config to point to the backup you want by putting your <hash> after SHA1=
Click to collapse
With Solid Explorer, I found different directories called /data in Root and in Internal Memory, but only the one in Root had a ./data/ subdirectory. Is that the one to which I should download the stock rom
ALI_RETAIL_9.0_PPSS29.118-15-11-9_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
which was posted in March, before the latest OTA release? Do I extract this zip, create an img.gz file from the .xml file and rename it stock_boot_<hash> before putting it there? Is <hash> blank-notation for any name that I give it, and which I then add after the “SHA1=” in /sbin/.magisk/config?
Finally, how do I edit the config file? I was able to get to it with Solid Explorer after checking the option to show hidden files in /sbin/. However, I couldn’t send this file to my computer by sharing it through email or messaging apps, as they all denied sending it. Apparently, it’s being blocked by anti-viruses. In this case, is there a safe way to transfer it to a computer, where I’ll be able to more comfortably edit it? Alternatively, if I just omit <hash> in naming stock_boot_.img.gz, can I leave config the way it is?
Best regards!
