I have recently updated my Yureka to CM12 lollipop version.
After a bumpy ride of 3-4 days, finally my phone seems to have made friendship with the new update and most of the short comings faced on day 1 faded away.
However the phone dialer still troubles me - it taking time for loading and after selecting a contact, there is lag/delay for selecting the SIM to call.
I would like to know if other too are facing such issues and the possible remedy
Also the double tap for opening the screen works fine but double tap to close the screen doesn't work.
Please guide me to fix these issues

Now that the honeymoon period is over I have started noticing a few problems with the JJ. The most serious I noted is that when the JJ has gone through some use after its last soft reset it tends to freeze when a new text message arrives in the in-box. This does not happen when the JJ has been freshly soft reset and only when some time has passed since it was last soft reset. Since I have set the unit to vibrating alert on receipt of a new message the vibrator continuously starts operating and the phone freezes. To stop the vibrator you need to do a soft reset again.
Anybody had this problem??? I am planning to do a hard reset and see what happens.
Regards
Definitely related to some software that you have installed. I use sms everyday and havent faced any such problem.
Yes it does freezes your device when you receive new SMS, some time even I lost the SMS which was coming tru,..
Once I lost the MMS Account itself, then had to go for softreset and got it back again...
I've had the same thing happening. Very annoying. That's just Microsoft as we know it. We can't get out of the habbit of frequent softresets.
I did a complete ROM upgrade today and I replaced the Arabic ROM which came preinstalled on my JJ with the english version as available at the clubimate site. Without installing any 3rd party software I tested the SMS freezing problem and unfortunately it is very much there. This at least proves that no 3rd party software is to blame for this.
Now I am thinking that maybe I will have to dispose of the JJ as I so much depend on text messaging. The worst part is that as the JJ freezes on arrival of a new SMS the message itself is also lost and after doing the soft reset you can never tell from whom the message was.
I will really appreciate if anyone can help
Kind Regards

If you have an SD card inserted try removing it and see if the problem persist.
What i dont get is why this problem is unique to a very small percentage of devices. Many of use the device for SMS quite frequently and dont face this problem. I wonder what the triggering factor is.

I have this problem since I updated my ROM.
I posted this a few days back that the Jasjar tends to hang not all the time but most of the time when a new SMS arrives and in fact the SMS is also lost when you recover after a soft reset.
I thought that I will re-post this question because now more users would have had more experience with their Jasjars. For me this problem does not seem to go. I have tried even a hard reset and the problem keeps coming back even with no third party software installed.
I shall be obliged if anyone else who has had this problem may kindly post his views because this may put some pressure on the people at i-mate to come up with a fix. I fear that since this problem is being faced by a very small minority of JJ users a fix may never see the light of the day.
Kind Regards
I have a himalaya device with WM5 and have the exact same 'sms-lockup' problem.
Also, somethimes all the incoming calls are forwarded to my voicemail, even when my phone ison and the signal is strong and im not using my device. This can only be solved by a reset or after i made a call myself. Till that time no-one could call me!
The problems started when i installed another WM5-rom and a new radio-rom( 1.18 ). This was the first time a upgraded the radio-rom, so i think this could be the problem.
Im going to install the older radio-rom ver1.08 (recommanded in combi with WM5 by buzzdef.net). I hope this solves it!
I to have the same problem... Every time you open a new text message or even after sending message and when you get delivery report it freezes and you will have to reset.. but if you are in the middle of a call the phone still works fine but not able to use the PDA part because its freeze...
Have installed another, older, radio-rom( 1.08 ) and used it for almost a week... no freezes sofar!! I dont know if this rom can be used for a Universal device...
Just uncheck the "turn off device after..." option in battery settings and this problem will go away.
This was pointed out by user Khaled in another thread.
im also experiencing this after i upgraded to Second Edition. my Himalaya tends to freeze when receiving SMS. applications starts to slow down but will eventually recover after the SMS receipt notification, no need for softresets. i also noticed that currently, it would take about 10 seconds before SMS notification appears in the screen. im sure about this because i would know that an SMS is coming because my computer monitor, adjacent to my XDA, would flicker. so the turn-around time from the flickering of the monitor to the SMS notification would last around 10-12 seconds. is this normal?
I was so fed up with the SMS freezing problem that I sold my Jasjar, albeit at a much loss and exchanged it for a new one.
Just my bad luck the problem is also there on my 2nd Jasjar. It is exactly the same as the one I have sold. When I get a new SMS the unit freezes and has to be soft reset. Please note that this does not happen every time but say 1 in 10 times. Anyways this makes the whole system very unreliable. When your phone is in your pocket and an SMS causes it to freeze you will never know if now somebody tries to make an urgent call because your unit is not responding.
I have also tried the remedy / fix mentioned in this fourm to to Uncheck Turn Off Device but does not work.
My only hope is that this problem is fixed in the next ROM upgrade.
In the meantime I am evaluating prospects of leaving the WM platform altogether and going for a Nokia 9500
a friend just adviced me that it was my Radio version that is causing the problem. 1.18 has a lot of bugs including this freezing issue. so he suggested that i reflash my ROM and go back to Radio version 1.17. could somebody point me where the bug issues of 1.18 are listed here in the forum? thanks
I updated to rom 3.35.651.2 (official rom) about a month ago. I added all my warez and tweeks. Everything was working awesome until about 5 days ago. Now it's all FOOBAR.
I have to soft reset my phone several times a day (more than 5) just to make it usable. Else it just stalls and the screen shows bits of different things thats going on.
For example, on the home screen, i try to open a txt msg, and it shows the body of the txt msg, but the top and bottom bars of the home screen. That's it. It lags so bad only a soft reset will correct it.
I'm not sure what's going on but i read a while back others were having similar issues with the update. Did we figure out if that was a bug or is it just a few unlucky people?
I run memaid to clean it up and it still doesn't help. I was using spb back up but that doesn't work on this rom either, it just hangs although it appears to create a file, and the file is then unusable (the backup).
What are your thoughts?
Just so you have a better idea of how bad it is, i just made a call using one of the spb phone suits. It's the picture calling deal. I click on the tab to show the pictures, i click on the picture and the phone dials and the call goes through.
The problem is that unlike it did before, i can't even pull up the call status screen, which would normally come up on its own. During the call, i can't even switch to it, it's stuck on the home screen.
The call ends, and all you can see is the same thing since the call started, the selected contact highlighted. And it's stuck there!
Any ideas?
thanks
Flash a DCD titan [6.1] rom.
Dunno what you did, but it seems to be the installation [update of registry] that causes the phone to become so damn slow. Custom roms are lean and mean.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking of doing but i'm a noob with the custom roms. I read up on them when I updated to the latest official rom, but i was confused
I guess i'll have to try to figure it out again.
Thanks for the reply.
So I have been having issues with my voice mail over the past week. Sometimes it would work sometimes it would tell me I didn't have a mailbox on the server.
Today I called t-mobile and they went through all their steps to fix it. My voice mail started working again but now anytime I have any notification icon pop-up (text message, email, missed call) my phone lags really bad and about every minute does some sort of weird half reboot. Screen goes black, has to reload lock screen and all widgets just like when the phone first boots. I was wondering if anyone else had seen or heard of anything like this.
I am on stock JI6 firmware, stock kernel, with the four lock-screen mod, and the circular battery mod. I have not had a problem with either mod for the three weeks I have been running them. T-Mobile rep told me to factory reset my phone which worked for about 10 minutes then gave me the same problem again.
Any help would be much appreciated, I don't really want to go through the process of flashing with odin and setting up my phone another time.
Hi,
I have been running Quarx2k the defy+ 11.05.2012 Nightly since it was uploaded.
However I am from time to time having problems with SMS's not getting sent and two times (I only make calls a few times a week) I have had the phone audio "stop" - Meaning that the counter keeps going, but the audio cuts off. I can't even hang up the call, only rebooting phone seems to help.
I have 2G/3G, so could network switching be a problem?
Have anyone else had similar problems? Did you manage to solve them?
I would like to update the wiki (Where sms and phone is listed as working perfectly).
I have the same problem with sms in CM9-NIGHTLY-120526-Defy+ (Quartz).
Failure in the first shipment of the messages, and sends it on the second attempt. I don't know how fix this problem

Please do 2 steps, check and give a feedback:
1. in widgets settings for network change from default 2G/3G+2G to 2G/only 3G/3G+2G, change your network through widget to 2G/3G
2. baseband switcher - switch to the latest for your region and reboot
So.. Story begins..
I bought my S8 a few months back.. Worked flawlessly (Stateside).. Then I came overseas and the problems began.. I requested my service to be suspended by Verizon and after doing so my phone began to freak out.. I don't know for sure if this is the cause but having just received my replacement device and experiencing the exact same issue. Could it be possible?
Issue: No matter what I am doing on the phone it will freeze for a split second then appears to refresh.. For example.. If I am typing an email, as I am writing my keyboard locks up and the phone becomes unusable then it jumps to the top of the app and then I can continue .. It is SOOOO frustrating because for example.. SnapChat: While I am writing and the screen freezes and refreshes, I lose everything I wrote.. If I'm scrolling through Facebook .. It jumps back to the top..This became more frequent and even more annoying! Even if I am in the settings menu scrolled all the way to the bottom.. it freezes for a second and then jumps to the top of the app.. So.. I began removing apps I thought could be the cause of the problem.. I cleared the cache on the phone as well as the apps, reset settings, removed/re-added Google accounts, even tried some developer options to scale down the graphics, background processes etc.. No avail.. I finally caved in and contacted Verizon who put me in touch with TechCoach app to remote in a see the issue for themselves.. All the troubleshooting steps they walked me through, I had already done.. So they sent me a replacement.. I set the new phone up, installed the software updates, just a few apps to test and sure enough same issue! Then I wiped the phone again.. didn't install any software updates, I left it bare bones and even set the phone up as new (no restore from Google)... So as I am writing this TechCoach wants to send me yet another replacement device.. But I'm certain the "Certified Like-New" S8 they send me will end up doing the same thing.. What it appears to be to me (No expert here) is that once I came overseas and suspended my line.. There's some service/app that is trying to push/pull over network data and since it's unable to do so it's causing the phone to glitch? I mean I really can't think of any other reason this could be happening .. Furthermore, I tried different Wi-Fi connections, changed performance modes, disabled many "enhanced features" ... Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated while I wait for the replacement device.... Thanks XDA!
Update:
Verizon had to reactivate my line before they could send a replacement... So I asked the rep to keep my line active to see if the issue persists.. Would you believe it worked flawless as it did when I first bought it without issues.. So my theory was right!!! Some service running in the background is attempting to refresh without connectivity.. I'm now going through every system app to disable and test ... more to follow!
