Untouched Lollipop Firmware (androidfilehost.com) - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 General

Some people have requested other download links to get their firmware from other places than sammobile.com. I have to agree with them, when I downloaded from there it was a$$ slow and they make you pay for a quicker download speed....which is a HORRIBLE model for the android community. Others also couldn't download from sammobile directly on their device. Therefore, I have started to download certain firmware and upload to Android file host.
Here is what I have compiled so far:
SM-N910T - N910TUVU1COD6
SM-N910W8 - N910W8VLU1BOC4
SM-N910R4 - N910R4TYU1BOC4
I used this method to install:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2903733
Is there any other firmware you would like? Let me know and I will add it to the collection.
I am not responsible for any damage, flash at your own risk.

If I install this can I put twrc recovery and use cf autoroot?

No. Those are base firmware tar files. Flash via Odin 3.09 or newer. Both CF Auto Root and TWRP are flashed in the same manner.

So the phone can be rooted and backed up after the update is what I'm saying?

Yes you can. If you update via Odin, you can then also use CF autoroot to root and install TWRP. I will post a link to what I have used to do this. I am using COD6 rooted with TWRP 2.8.6.0

thanks!

I was wondering what other firmwares can be flashed to a Tmobile Note 4? Is it dependent on what other regions have the Qualcomm processor in the Note 4? I'd love to try something other than the Tmo firmware.

Thank you good sir!

I just happened to see your unanswered question - didn't know if you were still looking for an answer - unfortunately you cannot flash firmware from another phone on your phone using ODIN without bricking your device. you can flash the new Firmware for your phone and follow steps offered in the various XDA threads to install roms that are based on different variants - for example - if you are on TMOBILE Note 4 - once you have rooted - you can flash a Rom from the International version of the NOTE 4 - there is another file you have to flash to fix certain problems - but it can be done. you probably should do a google search to find all of the specifics - good luck - hope I helped you.

Thanks, it makes sense. I got a little confused for a minute because I can flash any country's firmware on my Tab S, but it's the WiFi - only version. Now I remember about installing international ROMs on the Note, system only. Thanks buddy [emoji106]

Factory image file in case one would get stuck trying to do something like root the tablet unsuccessfully. You could use Odin and this file to restore the tablet. It's not an "upgrade" as a previous poster eluded to. It's worth mentioning that this particular one doesn't overwrite your internal SD directory which can be nice sometimes.
Interesting, Kudos for the share :good:
@open1your1eyes0 do you know what the block the boot.img is stored on :?:
to be deleted..
What is the correct way to use this in Odin? After rooting my 10.5 I am getting a wifi bug and want to use this to revert and try again. I want to be sure I pick the correct Odin options though.
*edit. Never mind. Found steps in a different thread for a different device for doing this. Seems it is the same as rooting. Just wanted to be sure!
Could someone turn this into a flashable zip please? I deleted a system file i shoulodnt have and need to find it in the /system directory. I don't remember the name of it...but it was right below the SideSync 3 files in Titantium Background....it was like sec. something....If someone could post that file for me that would be great.

To flash this in odin
1. Download and extract.
2. In odin click on the AP button to load your extracted download.
3. Click on the check box next to the AP button.
4. Click start. Your tab will reboot when finished.
Would like someone else to confirm the above before people start following these instructions. Since they are here, they may be in trouble.

I tried yesterday and bricked my device. Odin fails when flashing hidden.img.
I have the SM-T800 (Canadian model). I tried to get the official version from Kies, but it kept saying the version cannot be updated.
I went to sammobile.com to get the Canada version (T800XXU1ANFB_T800XAC1ANF5_XAC) and the zip file was corrupted... After a couple of hours I find a link on rapidgator.net and thank god It worked.
I thought this version would work on any SM-T800 model since it's just a wifi tablet?

Fyi this is country specific to US and it does work. If you bought your device in a different country you have to go to the Sammobile.com website to find your country firmware or else your device will forever be bricked. Also chetus is right, the Canadian version on Sammobile.com is corrupted. There is other alternative download out there though.
Does this put a rooted device back to factory standard, and also enables OTA updates to be received?
thanks
hm....... went to download mode, loaded the file in odin. when i try to start it just gives a message All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0). doesnt flash anything. Any ideas?
So if I bought my tablet in Germany I can't flash this it is Region-dependant
This worked for me, as did following the instructions above. I did have to use cf-autoroot again when done.
I do have the us version tablet.

SM-N915W8 Canadian NOTE EDGE

Hey just got my edge today, looks like there is very little going on as it was just released a few days ago despite it being out in the states for quite some time, the only difference I believe is the LTE in the Canadian version.
Anyways, coming from the note 2, 3 and 4 and the trtlecan version always being close to the trtletmo I decided to risk it and flash the tmo cf auto root and recovery despite there being no stock firmware laying around on sammmobile the others..
annnd I'm happy to report that I now have a TWRP recovery, rooted, SM-N915W8.
go ahead and follow the very detail steps in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
MAKE SURE TO READ THE PART ABOUT IT FAILING (to flash cwm) AND THAT BEING OK being flashing TWRP
and then the BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS inside recovery which will look like you have sleep lock if you don't fix them before letting the screen timeout
and have all 4 files on hand before you start!
Awesome, thanks for the info, I was debating it but just was being a chicken. I'm glad everything worked out. Did you make a nand? If so did you flash the nand just to make sure everything was OK? Are your root apps working without issues.? I don't mind taking the risk...just wanna be sure

Were you guys able to flash a custom ROM? Which ROMS will work with the Canadian version? And which US Model number is 'equivalent' to the Canadian one?

Tried flashing Hyperdrive Edge for T-Mo with both twrp (2.8.1.1) and cwm (6.0.5.1 Xiaolu) referenced in the root guide by OP. They flashed without error but I got bootlooped both times. Luckily backup/restore works for both recoveries.
Does anyone know of a way to get back to stock recovery after flashing cwm or twrp? Any known location of a stock image?

Yeah I know about sammobile, flashing via Odin etc. There's no stock firmware uploaded for the Canadian variants yet so I was wondering of an alternate method to flash the stock recovery. I tried extracting the recovery from the stock image via ADB shell, converting to tar.md5, then flashing with Odin but it failed....likely because I'm rooted. Guess I'll have to wait until the firmware gets uploaded. Thanks anyway.
Try contacting the sammobile team...and their forum..they maybe able to help..

N910TUVU1COD6 - Modem - Stock Kernel - Stock Recovery

If you are looking for the Stock Kernel - Stock Recovery or Modem file for the latest Lollipop Update for the TMO Note 4
You can use FLASHIFY to install Kernel or Recovery
You should be able to flash the modem using ODIN 10.6 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
I am not certain about earlier versions of ODIN.
you will find all files here - DOWNLOAD
Stock Rom from Sam Mobile is being uploaded to GOOGLE DRIVE - when it is finished uploading you can access at link above.
Flash in ODIN 10.6
I hope this is helpful
I am not responsible for your actions or your phone.
Not yet considering upgrading to Lollipop as I am not willing to give up Xposed.
Curious though if there could be any benefit or adverse affects in flashing the "Modem" ONLY to KitKat based ROM?
Anyone tried - comments?
modem file is no longer on mediafire. says it's removed.
edit: got it

I totally agree! Fingers crossed that xposed works with TW one day. Yeah, I just flashed the modem file via odin. Works great on KitKat. Tried calls via cellular & WiFi calling, data via LTE & WiFi, tether, and Bluetooth all around. Don't know about battery life yet or signal (cell tower practically in my backyard) but will report any negatives here if found. Oh btw, use cp button for modem on odin. And you we can always flash back to the old MK7 version if there any issues.... Enjoy!

Do we still need install modem file, boot.img and stock kernel even after I flash (through ODIN) the firmware from sammobile? Sorry, I have been installing custom ROMs and trying to get back to stock to see how it works. I thought just flashing firmware would be enough (and I thought this will take care of latest model, boot.img), am I wrong?

It's possible to have minor improvements through an updated baseband/modem/radio version but nothing miraculous. Sometimes newer versions are worse. Just depends. Mine seems the same so far. We'll see. You can always go back.

[TEST] MM for T715Y

I've extracted the bootloader and modem form the T715 firmware and made them Odin flashable.
Still haven't tested it but It should work on the T715Y
I've also made this Rom with android Kitchen so you'll need a custom recovery to flash it.
So the steps are simple
1. Flash sboot.tar.md5 through Odin on the BL tab
I believe you don't really need the modem
2. Flash the tab2.zip through a custom recovery.
Again I haven't tested this so I don't know if it works

is it an "RQT_CLOSE" error?
that seems to be a security error, it prevents odin from flashing firmware that is not 'original' to the device.
Damn you Samsung!
I guess we'll have to wait for a bootloader meant for the T715Y

Hi, first let me thank you for giving this a go in coming up with work around to get MM with variant T15Y which seems to be totally forgotten by Samsung as its still rocking LL v5. 02
As much as I want to give this a try my concern is tripping the Knox, flashing through twrp, which from my experience with my Note 5 has lasting effect with high battery drain after upgrading to MM. As far as I know there is no way of reverting knox to 0.
On the Note 5 forum, the N920I variant is the last to be upgraded to MM. Someone has come up with work around using the variant N920G (I believe its the India version) by unpacking the rom into 4 files corresponding the BL, AP, CSC, (i can't remember the 4th one) then repacking if into tar files to flash using ODIN. I have initially upgraded my N5 using this method and worked perfectly without tripping Knox. This method only works between the variants N920I and N920G, my understanding is that because they are almost identical versions. I wondered if this this is also the same scenario with the tab s2 T715 and T15Y, if so I was wondering if you or anyone on this forum knows or better yet can give this method a try. I don't have any experience with rom development but happy to give this a go if pointed to right direction. Ihope we can keep this T15Y thread going. Cheers

Cheers

The 4 files are simply the factory images downloaded via ota. Same as is in the all in one tar package downloaded from somewhere like sammobile. The problem with the Y version is that for some reason it is picky about its bootloader and will only accept a particular one.
Its probably a waste of time trying to flash any other bootloader until the official one is released.

Sad to know.., although I don't really have any issue with my tab as I mainly use it for browsing and as e reader, but as everyone here would agree its reassuring to know that your your device is currently supported by its manufacturer and the option to upgrade is available. Cheers
So, it doesn't work?

935v

Hey all, I'm new to the s7 edge forums and trying to find which rom to flash. My phone says I have the 935v model...but I can't seem to find any roms that support it. I have the US Verizon retail model. Am I reading it wrong? I see roms for 935f and other variations. How should I be reading the model number so that I flash the right rom (and twrp). Thanks again!

Download ROM from the Verison forum. Snapdragon ones have locked bootloaders, which means no twrp. You also can't use the roms posted for exynos. You would have to root using eng-boot, and then use Flashfire to flash rom that is designed for 935v.
Follow guide here first to root:

Install Flashfire

Download Rom of your choice, save zip to external sd, then go to flashfire and flash the zip.

Where would one look for g935u roms that can be flashed with flashfire? Everything I find about the u is flashing the u firmware on other variants to achieve root. Sorry I've spent hours looking for something and either I'm dumb or there isn't anything. :head bang:
