My understanding with IMEI codes is that you have a few options but they really depend on the circumstances. If AT&T locked it here in the US, it's very unlikely it will ever work with AT&T in the future. There is a possibility it might work with another carrier (such as Verizon), if they locked down the GSM side of the phone (AT&T) rather than the whole phone (you can still use CDMA, if that's not locked down, which is what Verizon uses). My understanding is that if it is blocked in the US, there's a possibility it will only have been locked down on carriers within the US and it's possible it will still work using international carriers.
Unfortunately, it's a lot of "maybes" and "it depends" but that's my understanding regarding phones with bad IMEI numbers. When you try it in Greece, let me know if it works! I'm interested to hear how it turns out. Good luck!
I am in Greece and I put one Greek sim so I need unlock code of a&t so if I change rom should I bypass this or not? Anyone? Ideas?

if am in another country unlocking will make phone work? i read about it so it only locks it to that carrier.
if carrier unlocked then it can be used with other carriers?
and most important if phone its like almost new and you need warranty from LG is it covered.?

AT&T unlocked will no longer consider as Bad ESN unless it was stolen n reported!
If you insert a working SIM, if detects it than all good. Otherwise have to use it over WiFi only. No point of unlocking it because simply it won't unlock. What's already been unlocked in the past.
LG doesn't provide international warranty to AT&T LG G2 unless you're using their carrier n still in contract. So no warranty.

My cousen was bought S7 Edge from Verizon to me. I am living in Turkey. (Europe) And i would like to use rom with Turkish language.
As i know, all s7 edge phones selling with exynos processor in Turkey & Europe. Also they have different rom than USA.
I just want to install new rom which has been using on Europe. Could i change it? Is it possible or not?

Not possible. Biggest reason, all European (actually anything not from North America or China) S7's are Exynos variants, all US (including verizon) ones are Qualcomm. Different architecture, different kernels, different ROMS. But aside from that, the Verizon one (same with all US ones) are bootloader locked, with signature checks on flash, meaning if the ROM isn't signed by Verizon (or maybe by specific Samsung keys) it won't flash on your phone.

1: No, you need to change the boot animation for this and that is not possible without root.
2: No, again root is needed to modify system files. Or open a Verizon account.
3: Again no, you need a Verizon account to create one and a sim card to use their HD capable network.
Sorry for all the negative answers but that's the way it is with a locked phone and not on the phones network. #2 is a bit silly because the phone is network unlocked but they still do this to us.

He means a bootloader locked phone. You can still have a sim unlocked phone, which you do, with a locked bootloader, which is preventing you from changing the things you want to.

It doesn't matter if it's carrier unlocked it's still Verizon branded. Like I said it's silly but that's the way they operate. We need it bootloader unlocked and then all these annoyances can be fixed. Until then we are stuck with what we have. Your only other option is to sell the phone you have and purchase one for the carrier you are currently on. Other than that you will have to put up with the sim card message and no HD calls.

Hello. I cant seem to find any service that can sim unlock a verizon htc 10. I am looking for a remote unlock, or a way I can be sure it will unlock, since I am buying the phone off Ebay. I would hate to buy it, to see it wont accept unlock codes.
Will converting it to US unlocked version (s-off, change cid, flash ruu) sim unlock it? Or is the sim lock permanent on verizons?

As I mentioned in the other thread the verizon 10 is not sim locked and will work with a gsm sim card, provided that the lte bands used by the GSM network are supported by the Verizon variant. You just need to switch the network mode to Global in Settings I believe.

Thanks for your replies. I have asked the person selling it, and he says his is locked to verizon, it will not accept gsm sim. The unlocked verizons are a bit more expensive. Is there any remote unlocking services for verizon? Even if it has bad ESN.

Yes, you can ask for an unlock, but you have to meet certain criteria, and some phones being sold dont meet the criteria, or the owner does not feel like calling verizon and asking them to unlock it even when being free. If I buy one I can not ask them to unlock it since I will not be on thier network. I have fallen in that trap before. They ask you have it activated on their network so they can send the unlock. Stupid, but its their rules.

From Verizon's website:
We do not lock most phones or tablets that are activated with our postpay service, either during or after the term of your service contract or*Device Payment Plan*installment sales agreement.
We do not lock our 4G LTE devices, and no code is needed to program them for use with another carrier.
This is their official policy written on their site, so if the seller is trying to sell you phone that's somehow locked you should beware.
My brother bought an s8 from Uk, he pre ordered it and got it from the samsung outlet and brought it home to Bangladesh. nope they wont let you unlock from their service...tracfone told me it wouldn't work on there new and improved network so they offered me a $40 rebate off any new tracfone over $80....I cussed and argued for two weeks with no avail...I had another old tracfone and was also running on that old Verizon cmda network, well they activated it..I put the sim card in the galaxy and it works fine....they just wanted me to buy a new phone...well i get on the phone with them to tell them that I got my 902l working on their "new network" ...they said that I was a liar and that the imei for my phone was never even branded with verizon/tracfone ever....I said cool and let them go with what the computers show...I figured out that since i'm flash happy with ASOP pie ROM's i knock out my radios or whatever all the time...so when my phone doesn't work my imei# is also blank slated meaning no carrier or csc identifiers...which means that you have a good chance of getting Boost mobile or metroPCS to work...I'm from Knoxville, TN and I called every carrier trying to get service when tracfone went loopy....Boost will activate it for sure because they run the old cmda...I'm good with tracfone I've always used there service...but I will say that I do have a Tmobile 900T motherboard i got for $10 off ebay on the way because I'm needing bootloader upgrade so I can use my fingerprint sensor on these newer ROMS...And the GSM radios so i can just go with whoever carrier I feel....
