Hi everyone,
I've had this issue with my D800 for a while now. I've done a full clean install of CM12, following all the proper channels and install procedures.
I live in an area (central California) where I can have LTE one moment and Edge 100 feet later. So there's inconsistency everywhere I go.
When I am in an area with poor signal, my phone with freeze, and then reboot. It's quite annoying and happens approximately 5 times a day.
I put the phone in Airplane mode and try to get the phone to do it again, and it runs perfectly fine. Turn airplane mode off, it starts searching for a signal, then the reboot happens.
I used voltage control in many variations to slow the cpu down and still, it does it.
Does anyone here have any suggestions on what I should do to fix this problem? Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks!!!!
I've also run into this on the LG G2 running Blisspop 4.0 (based on CM).
I had the problem too, but it disappeared a time ago after the fix. Since then only one reboot... (I think 2 weeks ago or so like that)

On monday I got my G2 to replace my Samsung Vibrant (due to the Vibrant's GPS issues). I love the G2, but one thing is completely ruining the experience for me. At least two to three times a day my phone is rebooting on me or it will completely freeze where I have to pull the battery. It seems like my problem is kind of common. I was curious is anyone has found any way to fix the random reboots without actually getting a new handset? I just factory reset my phone hoping that it will be a little better and I will update this thread if it gets better. Is there anything else I can try?
One other thing I noticed is that when it randomly reboots it is only a soft reset and doesn't truly reboot. Sometimes after the soft reboot it will hide certain applications like they are not installed until I do a full power cycle reset. Once Angry Birds disappeared until I did a full power cycle and another time it acted like my dialer was deleted off of the phone and I couldn't even make calls until I power cycled. Every time after I power cycle everything shows up so it looks like the media scanning doesn't fully run or something?
I noticed it only does this to me when I have no service...

Well unfortunately I have no service at work. Also, on my way to work I have a small dead zone. It is just very annoying because it happens 2-3 times a day.

I have the same problem with signal loss (although my phone does not reboot, I just have to reboot to get signal back), only at home and on the way to work. I put my phone on 2G only at home (since signal sucks, not giving anything up) and on the ride (again, not using the phone for data so not giving anything up) and I don't have the signal loss problem at all.
Have you tried 2G only?
Throw your phone into 2 g. This should fix alot of reboot problems and signal drops. It fixed mine. I had the exact same problem after 27 hrs. Take it outta 2g if you know you'll be in a high speed network.

I'll try 2g over the weekend and see how it is. Thanks for the suggestion.

I heard to turn off the backup data and that gonna stop the reboot, I did it, and no more reboot for my g2
I sent both of my G2s back because of this issue. IMO "switch to 2G" is not really an acceptable fix... hopefully HTC issues an OTA for this soon.
Though I do not have this problem myself... Two things I have seen people try that helped:
Make sure you are using a new SIM card, and try a better quality Micro SD card than what comes with the G2. You never know...
Hope it helps.

Thanks to everyone who replied with suggestions. I seemed to have fixed my reboot problems by turning off the application backup feature. I am still using 3g data so far with no reboots or freezes in the past 24 hours. I have driven though my bad signal area that usually causes my issues at least 4 times so I am pretty sure it is fixed. If anyone else has turned off 3g data try turning it back on, but turn off application backup and let us know how it works for you.

Hello,
During the past couple of weeks my nexus has been losing its cell signal every few minutes. It's like clockwork. If I completely wipe the room and start from scratch, its fine, but after a few days it always starts to do it again. Has anybody ever seen this? It was doing this on paranoid android, so I decided to leave it and go back to aokp. No luck. Cache wipes do nothing, rebooting it is sometimes a temporary fix. I am not using a custom kernel, and I don't ever flash new radios!
Any ideas? Thanks!

I have similar problem: Signal failure if I charge him.
I had nearly the same issues with my N4! But I don't life in the USA! I'm from Germany...
Over the he last 3 weeks me and my girlfriend lost network signal every 3-5 minutes... First times I was also wondering if that's because of a new rom I flashed or if the baseband doesn't fit with some of my kernel/rom combinations.
After 3 days I recognized that my girlfriend got the also this kind of issues, but she on a galaxy nexus!
So I started searching the Internet if other people have the same problems (especially the same issues but not related the N4)!
So in our case the problem is Vodafone Germany. Vodafone is building a new lte/4G/umts infrastructure and because of this they are shut down some of their network antennas in my area! After switching my phone to a 2g connection most of the problems are gone... And my mobile network speed also! :-\
So try to switch to 2g and see if it's fix your situation!
I get some money back from my provider because of the problems!
But the most important thing is that my N4 is ok!
Same problem as Ümit only losing signal when charging the phone. Does anyone have a potential solution?
some background info.
I ran stock room for 3 weeks, then one morning the signal kept dying on me. it would turn on for 2 minutes then loose signal again. and they it got so bad that i couldn't even make a phone call.
so i did following:
* Reinstall room (using the settings option, and factory reset)
(still same problem)
* change new simcard
(same problem)
* then finally i sent it into service.
It came back working with stock room of course)
work done when it was in service (just a hard reset with computer, tested OK)
it now worked fine for a week, then i rooted, and flashed a G-flex room.
still works fine for 5 days.
THEN today the same damn thing happens again.
the signal drops in and out every 5 seconds, the phone gets insanely hot, and the battery drains insanely fast.
what i'v tried so far.
*Whipe dalvik cache and fix permissions.
*flash new modems. (two modems)
still same problem.
I really REALLY don't want to send it back in for another 4 weeks at the service.
Do you guys have this problem? i tried looking on google for people with same issue but nothing that relates to my model number: D_802.
can you guys helps me out?
I have the ls980 variant and get horrible reception after root. Replaced the phone and all was perfect until I rooted. Went back to stock but issue persists. Going to try and reload SW again and see what happens.

Any updates to this guys? im having similar problems...
I have a stock t-mobile s7 edge device. It's losing the mobile network. I've noticed it a couple of months ago - it happened a few times but recently the problem is getting worse. It already happened 3 times this week.
Seems like completely random. Sometimes I notice it after I go somewhere with weak signal or no signal at all. Sometimes when I get back to an area with good signal it reconnects and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it shows the bars and says it's connected to t-mobile but 4g doesn't show up at all. So you can call but no internet. Sometimes no signal at all.
When it happens the only way to connect is to reboot the phone. Nothing else helps. If you try to connect to network manually - it can find t-mobile but unable to connect. just spins. Changing from lte to 3g or 2g also doesn't work.
I even tried to create a new APN - same thing.
Please heeeeelp...........
Last time this happened to me on another device, it was the sim card that had a problem. Have you tried with another SIM card?
No, but I don't believe it's a sim card related problem. Wife's phone has the same problem although less frequently. But she also travels less.
It looks like a configuration / firmware or maybe hardware issue to me.
I'm experiencing the same issue. It seems to happen when the phone loses signal completely like when deep inside a building. Then it won't reconnect to data or the network by itself.
From the first moment when I got my edge back in April I noticed that the radio performance was weaker than other phones. Then I got the Note 7 and same issue again. Then back to an s7 edge and the problem seems to be worse on this one specially after the latest software update.

My wife (s7) and me (s7 edge), as well as a co-worker (s7) are having this same issue.
Before it was happening occasionally, but after the last update its happening WAY more often.
Wiping cache seems to help with frequency, but still did not eliminate the problem. Hopefully it gets fixed with an update. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to put up with it.
Edit: I forgot to add a "simple" fix I've found that works almost all the time is to turn off mobile data, turn on airplane mode, turn off airplane mode, wait for signal, then turn on mobile data. Those steps in that exact order work for me most of the time.
So I've been having the same issues as everyone stated. The only fix is to reboot the phone, but who wants to that every time. I even changed the sim card!! I wish T-Mobile would get out of their feelings and start selling more flagship phones.
I have made the decision to jump to LG V20. I hope this issue doesn't exist with the LG.
I've just got my s7 edge and I'm sort of having same problem at home got 2 bars and sometimes goes to 4 bars but also wen I called someone the line was crackling but person said could her me fine so done a wiped cache and think it's sorted it now for the time being
(Edit ~ it's done it again could hardly hear person I was talking to)

Hello Everyone
I have been using my S7 edge for the past two years without any problems. However a week ago I dropped my phone and then problems started. At times the capacitive touch buttons (back and recent apps) would not work. There is no response at all then after some time it would again work. Now it has stopped working completely. Secondly I experienced network signals drop for 3 4 hours and then everything worked fine but now it has been 5 days since my mobile signals have gone completely. When I manually search for mobile network, it doesn't even show my network. It's like the frequency band has completely vanished. Is it hardware or software issue? Plus my phone charges slowly now and keep on getting hot.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks

You may want to remove the back and check for loose connections. Depending on your particular skill set and available tools, it's not that difficult a process.
