Just bought a S5 on ebay it's rooted on android 4.4.2. when I went to setup the phone Samsung account was not an option. I can not add one under settings add accounts. Any suggestions? I've never had this issue with a phone before. Thanks. Oh and i already did two factory resets didnt help.
Is there a way to install framework possibly to do this?

My ROM is pretty lean. I don't even have S health. You might be better off installing a new ROM to make sure you have everything you need.

Whomever you got this from must have deleted too many files. Odin this and start from scratch. Re-root and everything.

Who ever did this I think deleted samsung files. I dont have access to Odin because I have a mac. I installed samsung apps apk and health service. S-health does open up now and gets to the backup part for data then force closes.
Do you have safestrap? Install RicksRom v8. Great ROM for 4.4.2 NGC.

I do have safestrap but last time I used it screwed up my last S5 thats why I had to buy a new one. It's a long story but it got stuck in download mode when i went into recovery. There has to be a way I can get S-Health to work correctly without Odin!? And I have multiple G900 tar files from users saved on my computer. This one you sent is new to me.
It's one of the original ones. I use it all the time on my spare phone (I've been experimenting a lot mainly with flashfire). It does a full wipe. Like a brand new phone afterwards. A moot point since you don't have Odin. Safestrap has saved me a lot of heartache, never caused me any. I would be happy to pull whatever files you need but what those would be, I don't know. I have RicksRom on my sdcard so I have access to all its system files.

I'm still trouble shooting the issue with s health. Currently in process of uninstall health service then s-health, reboot then install service first. See if it helps. I do appreciate all your help in this matter and hope you can get me the orignal files needed for this. Is the samsung account still an issue? I installed that apk you sent and login to my account with no problems. All that can be sync is calendar it says. I'm a bit worried using safestrap to be honest after my ordeal with my last phone. I cant take chances ruining this phone by mistakes, especially since i'm going out of state for nearly just over a week starting this weekend.

THANKS FOR THE HELP! Well I figured out somehow I fixed it after reading another xda fourm in conjunction with uninstalling s-health and health service then reinstalling them. I installed also a modified s-health app that works along side xposed frameworks. :good:

Hi everyone
So I just flashed cyanogens 5.0 mod and I just assumed android market would remember what applications I had downloaded (yes, I'm an Android newbie) so you can imagine my surprise when only one of my previous downloads showed up!
I have no idea where I got it from but I was under the impression the Google saved my download history in Market? I mean it obviously remembered that one application lol
Any help is appreciated!
It does sort of. On the first boot after flashing a Tom go straight to the downloads and your apparently will show. Install all your Alps right then, if you leave the download page they go away. I hop Google fixes that soon.

No way! So I'm screwed? Well that sucks...
Is there really no other way? If I re-flash it, will I be given the same "chance" to go to market right away, or was that a one shot deal?
I think its one shot but it would hurt yo try.
No luck... I guess I'm screwed huh
Actually another 5 apps showed up in Market after a while, but that's it.
I'm still in shock that it didn't remember all my apps, I mean, whats the requirement?? gah...
Sorry man, at least it will always remember your paid apps even when you switch devices. But for next time if you wipe first thing you do is redownload your apps.

Thx for the help!
Actually, when you boot up your phone for the first time (or after a wipe), there's an option for you to select if you want Google to save all your settings. If you don't check this option, your downloads (and other stuff I'm not exactly too sure about) won't save when you wipe or change phones.
I flashed Cyanogen's ROM yesterday and my whole list of downloads were there. Downloading them was a bit of a hassle though...

Yeah I do get that question after flashing, have no memory of getting it first time I started the phone tho.
I always checked that option when I got it, thinking it was a good idea, guess I'll try not checking it next time, but I guess by now the damage is already done.
Hey, I just restored my nandroid to before cyanogen, and all the apps are there now in downloads again.
Perhaps there's a way to save this yet
Missing apps
Actually thing happened to me today after installing 5.0
all of my apps where gone except for the paid ones so what i did was restore from my nand backup copied all of my apps down, and then i went ahead and re flashed 5.0
hope that helps
(hope you did a nand backup before flashing )
thanks

-Restore Nandroid
-Flash CyanMod and Google Apps

Is it really worth the hassle to avoid redownloading all the apps? I'm assuming by now the OP could have reinstalled the apps a hundred times already.

Sure I could have done that, but I'm used (from the windows mobile world) to flashing my phone at least once a week, and I'll probably keep that up here so I want to make sure I have a simple way to restore my applications afterwards.
I appreciate the help everyone, I'll try to re-flash later and see if they show up
Flashed CM 5.0 beta 3 now and went straight to market and voila, all my apps are present! :-D
Thanks everyone for taking your time to help me!
I rooted my MK2 Galaxy S4. I got a little handsy with No Bloat and managed to delete my calendar storage. This lapse in judgement has cost me the ability to sync my calendar on my phone to my Google calendar...no matter what app I use. I've searched all over for a solution in the forums. I've tried several ways, all failures, to grab and run an apk that would fix this.
Is there a solution to this problem?...or is my calendar useless until we can flash ROMs to an MK2 phone? Any help is appreciated. Considering the stupidity I have shown in getting to this point, all insults are accepted.
Thanks

Boy, same for me ... at least I am not alone doing stupid things !
I have ACER LIQUID E1 and this is exactly the problem I am facing today.
I uninstalled SU, I did a hard reset (power off - volume+), Recovery mode, swiped data /Factory reset and restarted.. but the app is still missing.
For some reason I tried to flash the official roam but I am stuck that the "add device step", my PC will not see the device when I connect it...
Any help from wise support would be grealty appreciated
Thanks in advance

The prompts are meant to have that effect. root your tab and make a backup of your stock rom.
then navigate into system and destroy the offending software that's nagging you. You don't have any need for the ota.

the icon in the nag/notification will probably look familiar.
just back up your stock rom first, that way if you goof while debloating

ALWAYS keep a backup of your full stock rom.

I install the Samsung Account update on mine, it did not break root.
It broke root on my sons tab, His young sister pressed the update button as soon as it finished updating root was gone and towelroot wouldn't work on it anymore.
Sometimes when I try to download/update an app I'll get an error after it's done downloading that says it can't install and it'll keep trying until I restart my phone and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't also another issue whenever I turn my phone on or off it'll make apps dissappear and the only way I can access them is to do it in the playstore and I'll have to Uninstall them through the playstore and then reinstall them to make them visible
Are you getting the PlayStore error 492 message when updating or installing an app? If so, I've been trying to figure this out for the past few weeks. I ended doing a complete fresh install of the ROM I'm currently using, which is the MOAR ROM, and I'm still getting the dang errors. I've cleared the playstore cache, data, uninstalled, etc. It either works for a bit or nothing...if youre having the same issues as myself, I wish I could help.....

Hmmm I don't think so I'm getting error code 963 it's weird cuz while the app is downloading it'll say 86mb for instance then it'll go to 90mb then it'll go back down to like 82 and the whole time the description is like flickering almost like you're refreshing the page but I am also on Moar do you think it could be a problem with the rom? And what version are you on? Og5 or pb1?
Still on OC4 and haven't dorked around with any of the apps in months. I'm going to flash back to NCG and root then install upgrade to lollipop by Muniz_ri and see what happens. If nothing, I'll go ahead and flash the MOAR ROM. Been on it since last year and haven't had any issues until now. Wish someone would have a concrete solution..

Since you are rooted, go into root explorer and navigate to /data/app/ Do you see any duplicates in that directory? If so, the fix is simple. There may not be enough space due to duplicate apps.

Checked it and didn't see any duplicates. Although, I did see a good bit of '-2' but no '-1' for the same app
I don't know what is going on with why I cannot update/install apps...I started from scratch starting with NCG,rooted and installed the MOAR ROM again and on the OC4 firmware....I was able to load apps just fine for about an hour and then i went to check to see if i could update an app, none in particular, and received the freaking 492 error again.I hate to say and not saying that this is the culprit, but i checked it after i installed LP SafeStrap. I'm clueless to why i'm getting this and don't know if i'm the only one or not. I didn't install any backed up apps or data either. If anyone has any thoughts or fixes, i'm open to suggestions. reflashing the rom worked until i tried to restore everything wit titanium back up then for some reason the cpu was too high and kept turning my phone off so i reflashed it and only restored certain apps and everything is working a okay now but i think that might have been the case before because for some reason i had so much space taken up i have almost everything on my phone in my sd card and my phones a 16 gb and it was saying i only had a few hundred mb and now i had 6 gb after i reflashed and im down to like 2 and a half gb (i assume cuz i restored the apps and it stuck stuff on my phone instead of sd card but idk)

Yeah, tried everything that that I saw posted in the threads and Web. I ended up flashing back to NCG and started from scratch. After installing MOAR and setting everything up, and not to say that this was the culprit, i installed the LP SS V17 and it all happened again. So, I reflashed the ROM and installed the SS rooting tools V6 and reluctantly haven't had any issues 'yet'?. As far as storage goes I have 7.8gb available now. Have you looked into your hidden folders or cache on the SD card to see if there were any unused apps/data that could be deleted? It's running so far so good at the moment but I haven't tried to update any apps yet. I may check to see what happens...
Veid71, thanks for checking in and for your suggestions. I appreciate the help and hopeyou get your issue with the Play Store resolved. If i have any helpful suggestions, I'll be sure to let you know. Sorry to go off topic a bit.
Fellow users I don't want to steer/scare anyone reading this to think to not install/use the LP SS recovery apk. Its a great and useful app that JrKruse modified from the original version for our LP devices. I'm not saying anything is wrong with it or it may "break" something and I'm not even 100% sure SS was the problem, it could have been something else that may have been messing up the Play Store update issue. So please don't let my posts deter you from using the app.

np everything seems to be good with my phone now and thats odd i remember when the error occured i just kept on trying and getting ahold of google support and it was a huge pain in the ass but theres a number of things that could have went wrong maybe the app downloaded incorrectly and messed up other stuff in your phone (not sure how that would have happened but hey everything is possible with technology lol) or maybe the file you downloaded was wrong or didnt flash correctly or maybe idk lol anything and everything could have happened lol

Yeah, I agree. Could be a bad download or the app(s) didn't agree with another...I'm glad that we're both able to get our devices running correctly. Just wish I knew what was the issue(s). I posted in the LP SS thread about my issues and JrKruse was helping me out. It helped for a bit but went back. The odd thing is that I never had any FC's...oh, well....Again, thank you for your suggestions and responding back. That's what the XDA community is about. Helping and sharing with others, without the bitterness(hehe)as i, at times, see throughout these threads...thanks again, A
I had this prob. also. I had changed download directory to ext. SD card. Changed it back to default location, problem solved. Don't know why won't write to ext. sd.

Getting rid of OTA updates on a rooted device by freezing "Software Update" apps
I have a rooted Galaxy s10+ with android pie. Doesn't freezing "Software Update" system apps of my android by Titanium Backup make booting problems for my device? Is it safe for me to freeze those apps? I ask because I've heard freezing some system apps like "Device Care" stops the device from booting. As other fellas I get ota update notifications and I wanna get rid of them by freezing those apps.
not a soul to answer?
dont know, never used it on this app
why dont you just hide the notifications?

because they come back, of course I tried that. you cannot just hide their notifications. They are system apps which android doesn't let you to hide their notifications. you can even stop the apps with some apps but they come back. I just wanna know the answer to my question because all other ways has already been tried and they were unsuccessful.
You can freeze the software update without issues, or at least you could back in Galaxy S4 days. Pie might work differently than lollipop.

lol that is very nice of you. If you don't mind messing with your Android Pie you can do it now because I just wanna see that the OS boots after freezing "software update" apps using Titanium Backup

Some ideas:
Autonotification blocks permanent notifications permanently .
Or make a Nandroid backup with TWRP and restore if necessary.
Or use TWRP file manager (or aroma file manager https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108) to backup packages .xml file (should work also on PIE) in the data/system folder, which contains information About enabled and disabled packages.

Thank you, I still wanna wait for someone who has done the freezing way. No TWRP on my mobile and I also want things to be done clean. don't like any overload by other apps like autonotification.

Ok.
Always know that having root without having a custom recovery (TWRP) can be very risky because, in case you or some root-app make your phone bootloop, you cannot recover easily (And you lose your data).

Thanks for your advice. Yea you are right but at the moment s10+ was just released and its TWRP wasn't working properly. I'm an advanced user but I just don't have enough time to do it all over again let alone getting back up gets much time itself.
Still waiting for the answer folks ?
SO basically you are asking someone else to potentially F*** up their phone because you are not willing to try it yourself ? Sorry, but that's how it sounds....

Of course not. Some people have enough time to try different software and ways to make phones better. Some even have recovery software like TWRP which can undo if something go wrong. I'm asking them to share if they had the experience I mentioned. I was one of them a while ago.
