[Q] WiFi fix for i9500 India XXUHOA7 ? need help - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody.
I ll be very specific with my prob. I have galaxy s4 i9500 which I am using in India. The problem is as soon as I leave the room in which my modem is there, the device loses WiFi connectivity ( I ve tried a few modems and a few phones too) so the prob is with the phone I am having . I be seen a few threads with something called non-hlos bin files aka WiFi fix. But nothing for my specific modem. I be tried flashing a few modems too but that dint work either.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to what needs to be done.
Thanks in advance.
I he installed philz touch recovery, and I am comfortable using Odin for flashing.

The wifi fix your are talking about is not meant for your problems. The wifi fix is for when you have flashed a modem on an old bootloader. That doesn't apply in your case.
So the only thing you can try is flashing different modems and/or different roms. Besides that there is not much you can do about it.

[Q] What to check before trying a new rom?

Hello all,
I just inherited a Samsung GT-S5360L phone from my father and i wanted to try some roms. Some of the available roms seem pretty cool, but i have noticed a small detail, my phone model ends with an L, and the roms available dont.
This is probably because my cellphone is a southamerican model. So, My main question is, what should i check before flashing a rom into my S5360L in order to avoid problems?
I am mainly worried about loosing the 3G signal (or the whole phone signal) if i flash an incorrect rom. I read some posts that said that i should use a specic CSC.
Can anyone explain to me a litle more about this? Do i need to flash the ROM and my original CSC files in order for the rom to work with my operators, or the process is different?
Thanks in advance.
Solution!
Sir,
You must have bought your Galaxy Y with some Carrier! That why it end with a "L", But that does not matter! To prevent bricking ur phone just follow the correct installation instruction.. If you brick your GY there is a guide in the general section to restore back! Make a Nandroid Backup first of all and then Flash GT-S5360 Firmware (The one preferred in the Rom's installation guide I hope this helps! As much as I know, all roms will work :fingers-crossed:

to ensure installation success please download "Galaxy Toolbox" by doky in the playstore and unlock your network (if it is sim/carrier locked)
then follow all instructions provided by the rom authors to ensure success,
if in case all else fails just reflash to a stock rom via odin, not to worry since any stock rom will do
thanks for the information guys. I know any rom should work, i do it in mi LG Optimus2x but i had a samsung phone before (galaxy spica) and i had some troubles after flashing some custom roms, where i would only be able to have 2G signal and not 3G, or in some cases have no connectivity at all. I will give some roms a try and see how everyhting goes (and do a backup first, hehehe).
thanks again.

[Q] Network problem after flashing I9505XXUBMEA

I am in Singapore on Singtel network.
I flashed about 10 days ago the I9505XXUBMEA rom from Sammobile.
Since I flashed I have had very very poor signal (voice : calls not going through or calls dropped and data : close to no data at all) .
I have a limited experience with flashing roms.
I have checked that it wasn't something related to my network or card by switching the sim back to my GS3. No issue there...
I tried to flash DX... modems with no change...
Can someone help me ?

I would suggest Reset the device completly which is suggestable after an update
And see mostly some bad system file would be causing this Reset from device will clear finger crossed
Note: Data will be lost incase u do reset back important things first
Ok, few more solutions for you.
1) Try a CSC change, not sure if that has any effect on your network. Find one that's for Singapore or SEA region.
2) Try flashing a rom from Dejembey's, haven't had any network issues there. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824
I'm on MF8. Maybe you should give that a try.
Ohh and please share your wiping procedure you tried earlier.
Cheers.
I flashed the new rom without problems.
I am still mainly stuck on G for the data...
It might not be the rom or modem...
Any ideas of what could be the cause?

[HELP] [Q] No Mobile Data Signal

Hi,
I recently was getting frustrated with the ROM Gummy. ROM GUMMY: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563973) so i wanted to try something new and never thought i'd get a problem as when i flashed GUMMY it was so simple and everything worked.
However, when i flashed to the ROM S4 Google Edition: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474) i noticed my signal / network won't stay connected. It may work for 2mins then disconnect - so i tried another ROM thinking it was caused by the S4 Google Edition.
I'm now currently on KOT49H【4.4.2】Google Play Edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353) and still getting no signal, only if i keep changing it to automatically find a network.
I've been reading it could do with Modems, or have i really messed something up and won't be able to fix my phone? I'm sort of new to this all so if you could explain more than tell me to do something that would be great.
Phone: Samsung S4 i9505
Baseband Version: i9505DVUBMGG1
Network Provider: GiffGaff (o2 Company)
Any help would be great.

You have to flash a new modem for 4.4 like nb9. If you have a bootloader without knox, flash only the modem.bin file. If you have knox, flash modem and non-HLOS.bin. there's a nice modem thread in the general section.:good:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025

[Q] Can I flash G900F modem on G900W8 and how?

I've been having a problem on my S5 where the data symbol is stuck on 4G and doesn't show anything else. It might be a baseband/modem error since I'm using a Canadian model in Cyprus. Can I use the modem from the Cyprus G900F firmware and flash it on my G900W8? Also can someone explain how I could do that so that I don't screw it up, if it is possible?

RE UP!
Same pb...
To flash a modem you need a .bin file and odin.
Clear your delvik/cache,
put your phone in download mode,
load phone with the .bin file and flash it.
I also am having data issues with all custom ROM's. If it's not one thing it's another. Canadian phones always get left in the dust it seems.

Probably not. You neglected to tell us what your W8 baseband and firmware are, which is rather crucial information. Making it impossible to give you a definitive answer. In most cases Odin will refuse to allow the change.
That isn't really an issue most of the time. There should be a variety of W8 modems for you to choose from if you want to change your modem.

Help with my samsung s4 i9505 lte

Hi ,
I updated my phone to the leaked ROM of lollilop 5.0.1 , well this is not a problem the thing is that after flashing it many times with stock and costum roms I corrupted the EFS folder and didn't have a backup of it.
The IMEI is good and everything else , but since I have a major problem is that the phone doesn't get the 3G it is stock on the EDGE network only , now I guess the problem is from the nv_data.bin which after rooting the phone I didn't see it inside the folder , I would like to know if this file is related the 3G and network frequencies and how to write the frequencies and fix this major problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.
ANY HELP???????
