Is there someone here that have bought a norwegian HTC magic.
I need the Norwegian rom and radio..
if it's possible to flash on the voda, I'd like a copy of that one too
I have no clue on how to extract it, but if you would like to enlighten me and it's not too much of a hassle I'll get you a copy from mine.
I doent know how to extract it my self,, but i will think there are people here en XDA dev that knows..
What version RADIO are on the norwegian magic?? because i have problems with the reception on my magic..
Baseband v. 62.52S.20.18U_3.22.20.17
Here is the way to backup your rom.. Can you take a copy of your norwegian rom and upload it..
Quote from another XDAdev forum user
Here's how to do a Nandroid backup:
Firstly, download fastboot.exe, or if you are on Linux, just fastboot. You can get fastboot from HTC's website, here's the link:
http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html#s2
Save fastboot.exe in just c:\ (the root/beginning of your C: disk).
You need to make sure the USB drivers for the HTC Magic are installed on your computer.
Then you need to download this file, unzip it, and save it to your phone's sdcard:
http://www.droiddeveloper.com/hrbuil...ry-new.img.zip
You must unzip the file, so that you have "recovery-new.img" on the SDCard.
Then, please turn off your HTC Magic, and hold down the Back button (arrow button next to the Search button), whilst turning the phone on.
This will enter Fastboot mode, and the phone should show "SAPPHIRE xxxxx FASTBOOT USB" and some other information.
From your computer, go to a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd [enter]), or just Start -> cmd [enter] if on vista.
Type: cd \ (that's CD, space, backslash) then [enter]. This changes your working directory to the root of the c: drive, where we have saved fastboot.exe.
Then type "fastboot devices" and make sure that fastboot on the computer can see your phone. Hopefully it will return a model or serial number of the HTC handset.
If so, please type "fastboot boot recovery-new.img".
This will start your phone up with the modified recovery image, which has Nandroid backup built into it. You should now see the recovery screen on the phone, with some menu options, including "Nandroid Backup".
Please choose to do a Nandroid backup from the menu on the phone. This will create a folder on the phone's sd-card called Nandroid, with some other folders inside, with backups of the system.
You can then choose restart from the Recovery screen and everything will be back to normal.
Please can you do this and send us the files? From your perspective it would be better if you wiped the phone (Factory reset on the phone, Under Settings -> SD card & phone storage -> Factory data reset) before doing this because we don't want your data. Or you could just do it, zip up the files and contact me and I will take your files, restore here, wipe data, then re-zip the files, so nobody will have your information. If you are not happy with that, you could just send us all the files except data.img. I'm sure that would be OK.
Please help me folkz.....Still having problems with the reception here in Norway...
Just have to figure some stuff and I might be able to have a go at it, only problem atm is that I had back surgery 3 days ago and can't have long sessions in front of a computer yet...
but correct me if I am mistaken, but don't I need to root my phone before using nandroid for it to make a complete backup which also includes spl/baseband?
Here is my backup from Norwegian htc magic. I had to use "daldroid-recovery.img" to get it. Let me know how it works.

Hi I tried to install your ROM but then my magic will not start so I installed the old ROM again..
To bad don't know what more I can do then.
When returning to stock, I found this the most simple way to do it.
You will need:
AAHK
Your carrier's branded RUU (I'm using the Orange UK one found here
A computer with Windows on it (Annoying, I know), however this is just needed for the RUU exe process, not for AAHK
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for anything you do to your device! I recommend making a backup of AAHK's file you will be editing before you start editing it
1. Download and open AAHK, entering the passcode (read the manual)
2. Type "o" and press enter
3. Type "s" and press enter
4. Find the closest generic RUU to your device, but DO NOT SELECT IT
5. Remember the CID of the one you chose (for me it's HTC__001, as I chose the UK generic one)
6. Close the terminal
7. Select your respective file that runs AAHK (.sh for Linux, .cmd for windows [I think])
8. Open it in a text editor
9. Use a find tool within the file to find the CID of your closest generic RUU, which should look a little like this:
Code:
elif [ "$inp" = "0" ]; then
cid="HTC__001"
dlFlash
10. Find your CID for your carrier, this thread is very useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195475
11. Change the CID within the AAHK text file, to match your carrier's CID, for example my carrier's CID is ORANG001, so my text would now read this:
Code:
elif [ "$inp" = "0" ]; then
cid="ORANG001"
dlFlash
12. Save and close that file
13. Open AAHK in a terminal again, entering the passcode and then selecting "o" and "s"
14. Go to your generic RUU again (Don't worry that the CID hasn't changed in the terminal, it will have done in the code)
15. Now select that RUU, and let it download, but DO NOT YET SELECT FLASH "y", and DO NOT CLOSE AAHK
16. Download this PD98IMG http://cmw.22aaf3.com/ace/stock/1.32.405.6/PD98IMG.zip
17. Copy it to your AAHK folder, within the folder named PD98IMG, where there will be the one you just downloaded
18. Select the one that AAHK downloaded(will be called something like "PD98IMG_GB2" and rename it to "BACKUP_ZIP"
19. Select the one you just downloaded from my link, and rename it to what you just renamed the other one from, so it will be something like "PD98IMG_GB2"
20. Return to AAHK, that you left open, and now select "y" to flashing the RUU and "y" to setting S-ON
21. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting, returning to the stock, unbranded froyo RUU. You're not done yet.
22. When the phone is done turn on USB debugging, open a second terminal and run
Code:
adb shell getprop ro.cid
It should return your carrier's branded CID. If not, you did something wrong, re-root using AAHK and do the process again. ONLY IF IT does, then continue
23. Now you need to flash your branded RUU. If you need to, boot a Windows computer now and download it. Else, just open it
24. Accept everything it says about readmes and things, if you're nervous, read them
25. Let it flash, once it's done it should reboot the device
26. Again, enable USB debugging, open a second terminal and run:
Code:
adb shell getprop ro.cid
If it returns your carrier's branded CID, you're good, continue. Else, re-root and start again
27. Your phone should now prompt a software update if the RUU is older than the current version, accept and install these
28. Hit the thanks button, it took me a while to figure out and put this together
Thanks to attn1 for the AAHK, Chris Moyles for the Toby Lerone references on radio stations and Real Radio Northwest for providing me with background music for most of the time I was writing it.
You are done, now go do whatever you were going to do, whether it be warranty or trading it in

READING & FOLLOWING EACH STEP IS KEY TO SUCCESS.
Let's get started!
SECTION 0: SYSTEM PREP:
Let's setup ADB and fastboot
Windows:
- Automated: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 (follow the steps in the software)
- Manual Method:
Download this file and extract the folder called "adb" to your C: drive. Your path should look like this:
Code:
C:\adb\
You will need to open a command prompt window using this method:
Code:
- Go to the C:\adb\ folder
- hold down SHIFT key and RIGHT-CLICK
- select "Open command window here".
Mac & Linux:
Install ADB & fastboot using: this file
1. Extract the downloaded zip to your desktop
2. Open Terminal and type in:
Code:

./ADB-Install-Mac.sh
Note: By using the method above, your adb and fastboot files are stored at this location on your Mac: /usr/bin/
Let's setup HTC Drivers:
Install HTC Sync Manager to get the HTC One M8 drivers installed, which you will need for this process
SECTION 1: UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, CUSTOM RECOVERY & ROOT
BOOTLOADER UNLOCK:
Make sure you check off all of the following before moving on to the first step.
- Make sure your phone is at least 60% charged.
- Register for an account at HTCdev.
- Enable USB debugging in your phone's Developer options.
- Un-check "Fast boot" on your phone by going to Settings -> Battery Manager.
- Install ADB and Fastboot on your computer.
- Make sure to back up all of your app data using either ADB or HTC Sync, because you will be wiping your phone.
- Install the HTC One M8 drivers on your computer (if you have HTC Sync installed, then you already have them).
Enter Fastboot (bootloader) Mode
Place your device into fastboot mode by plugging in your HTC One to your computer,
then powering it down by holding both the Power and Volume Down buttons until you see the screen below.

Locate Your Identifier Token
Once the screen above appears, open up a terminal (command prompt) on your computer. To get the right Unlock Code for your HTC One, you first need to get your device's specific Identifier Token, so type the following into your terminal window, followed by the Enter key.
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Copy the Token
Now copy the code you get, but do not include the first (bootloader) portions.
HTCdev
Go to HTCdev and log in to your account.
- Select Unlock Bootloader and then Get Started.
- From the drop-down menu, select HTC One (M8), then click on Begin Unlock Bootloader.
- Agree to the terms and conditions and click Proceed to Unlock.
- On the next page, scroll all the way down and click on Proceed to Step 5.
- Paste the identifier token you copied earlier into its corresponding box near the bottom (called My Device Identifier Token) and click Submit.
- The Unlock Code will be emailed to you, so once you receive the email, download the attachment and place it on your Desktop.
- Initiate the Unlock Code - in the terminal/command prompt, type the following:
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Desktop/Unlock_code.bin
Note: Change [I]Desktop/Unlock_code.bin[/I] to the location of your code.
- Your phone will now prompt you to unlock your bootloader, using the Volume Up button, select Yes and confirm your unlock with the Power button.
- Your phone will reboot and your bootloader will be unlocked!
- After the reboot, you will need to set up your device again as if it were new.
- After getting set up, make sure to re-enable USB debugging and plug it back into your computer.
CUSTOM RECOVERY
Get latest TWRP: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m8
With your phone plugged into your PC, type in:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Once in bootloader mode, type:
Code:
Mac/Linux: fastboot flash recovery /Users/vomer/Desktop/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-m8.img
Windows: fastboot flash recovery C:\adb\openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-m8.img
Then:
Code:
fastboot reboot
You are now the the latest version of TWRP.
ROOT
- Download SuperSU to your device
- Reboot into recovery mode:
Code:
via fastboot: With your phone plugged in, type in: adb reboot recovery
or
manually: Switch off the device first and then press the Volume Down + Power buttons - once on the bootloader screen use the volume keys to scroll to "Recovery Mode" and press the power button to make the selection
- In recovery, tap on Install and then select the SuperSU zip file.
- When done, select the Reboot system option to boot the device into Android OS.
You can confirm this by using apps like Root checker on the Play Store
SECTION 2: S-OFF & SUPER CID
There are a few basics you need to get out of the way before you can start this process:
- Uninstall HTC Sync.
- Enable USB debugging on your phone
- Turn off all security settings from Settings -> Security.
- Disable Fast boot mode from Settings -> Power/Battery Manager.
Now for the good part!
- Download firewater (note: firewater no longer works. You may try sunshine - but the results are spotty)
- Save the downloaded file to your ADB folder (C:/adb/ or the Desktop if you are on Mac/Linux)
- Plug in your device to your computer.
- Hold Shift and right-click on any empty space in the adb folder and click on Open command prompt window here
- Enter the following in the command prompt window:
Code:
adb reboot
Code:
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
Code:
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/firewater
Code:
/data/local/tmp/firewater
- Type in Yes when prompted and hit enter.
- When it is done and says you have S-Off, type the following:
Code:
exit
Code:
exit
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
- The phone should now be S-OFF
- Stay at this bootloader screen - let's get you SuperCID:
- Copy/Paste the command below or make sure there a eight 1's:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
- Reboot phone into bootloader mode (by typing: adb reboot bootloader) and verify CID#. It should look similar to this:
SECTION 3: FIRMWARE UPGRADE
Latest firmware's can be found in the post below.
Download the firmware zip file you would like to flash & rename it to firmware.zip
Plug in phone to PC and type this in terminal/command prompt:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Start by checking current system details. Type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 3.16.0.0000 [COLOR="red"]< This is your bootloader version[/COLOR]
(bootloader) version-baseband: 1.15.2133156.UA13G [COLOR="red"]< This is your radio version[/COLOR]
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 1.54.401.5 < This is your firmware version
(bootloader) cidnum: 11111111 [COLOR="Red"]< This is your CID[/COLOR]
Now type:
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
After that, type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Note: if this command freezes, just disconnect the USB cable and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device reboots.
Then, repeat the steps above again.
Next, type:
Code:
fastboot flash zip /Users/vomer/Desktop/firmware.zip
Windows users: your command will look something like this: fastboot flash zip C:\adb\firmware.zip
Next, repeat the step above a second time.
Last Step:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Then I went back to the bootloader mode (after the phone reboots successfully):
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Checked if the update worked:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 3.16.0.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 1.16.2133156.UA15G [COLOR="red"]< Looks New![/COLOR]
(bootloader) version-main: 1.54.401.10 [COLOR="red"]< Looks New![/COLOR]

Fantastic! Great guide just as with the M7. This is much appreciated and more importantly trustworthy. It's best to remove all the guesswork when messing with these partitions and your guide does exactly that!

Fantastic guide!
One recommendation though, when you are running adb and fastboot on Mac or Linux, it should be ./adb and ./fastboot.

Great guide. I already went through unlock & S-off but I used your guide for M7 last year, I think a lot of M8 users will be glad to find this thread
Good guide. However for a second there, I thought that this was a new way to achieve S-OFF... Too bad.

Sorry if my question would sound quite awkward to many people, but I am VERY new to rooting and all these.
I got a Verizon HTC m8, and I do not live in the U.S., so since I have to be on the Verizon network to get updates for my phone, for me that's not a choice. Which brings me here, right here! To root my device to be able to update it. But I have a couple of questions, and I like them to be answered. And since I am too new with this, any forum I read, I kind of got confused with all of it. SO, i would just like to get simple answers please.
1: Will this process help me update my phone and using the stock HTC RUU? Without losing HTC sense and all of that?
2: Will I be able to uninstall the annoying apps from Verizon?
3: Will this anyhow affect my phone to perform worse?
I don't care about warranty though, I am not in the U.S anyway. And won't be going there for a long time I guess.
Thanks for caring!
Hey @vomer, nice to have you here in M8 threads. Perfect guide like it was already with m7. Can we expect also your list of customized fws? I always preferred using your fws on my m7!! I know you don't have M8... But maybe you will be able to extend this thread with fws checked by yourself! Thx again for the great guide!!!

HERE is the system.img firmware only from 10F KDZ file, should work with all variants of the G4 (i hav'nt tried it myself yet, as im away in hospital all day)
DOWNLOAD HERE
It's google drive so quata will go fast, so if youd like you can mirror it.
Download the system.zip file and extract it.
instructions by TEAM_CodeFire modified by smaberg
1.) install all windows driver and adb, fastboot files, download and extract LG_Root for appropriate files http://d-h.st/uO8h
2.) Enable ADB debugging on your device, Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information and tap build number until you are presented with "You are now a developer"
Exit back to Settings main screen. In Developer Options enable USB Debugging (Some devices require enabling PTP for debugging to work)
3.) In the root of LG_Root folder start a command prompt, Inside of LG_Root folder hold shift and right click a blank space you should see "Open command window here"
4.) Well that was easy , let's continue (Now that we have the files on our device we want to put our device is download mode)
Power off your device
When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC
Wait for the drivers to install
5.) Let's find which COM port our device is connected to
Double click ports.bat (This will give us the COM port in which our device is connected we are looking for the Diag port)
Let's run Send_Command.exe (It couldn't connect? Make sure you COM port number is correct it varies)
Code:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM3
6.) in command prompt Type "id" and press enter (no quotes).
You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root". If not, press CTRL-C, and do step 9 again (the application sometimes doesn't respond on the first command).
7.) in command prompt type
dd if=/data/media/0/system.img bs=8192 seek=55296 count=529920 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
For other variants then eu815 look here
8.) After a few minutes of sitting, you should get back a "#" prompt. This indicates the process has finished.
Type "LEAVE" (no quotes) and press enter. Your phone should reboot. DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All flashing is on your own risk, i cant help if you get a seagull in your face
It´s rooted?
no, stock at the moment.
No possibility to have a zip file? I do not have windows, but only Mac.. with a zip file for who has the unlocked bootloader is simpler

Ofc, its for the H815.
is it possible to change the build.prop in this .img before i flash it into my G4?
Could you post a link to the 10f kdz file?
Where did you get that? Was there another update this week?

Look at the date of the OP. This was posted weeks ago.
There are different version upgrade paths for different G4 devices.
For example, my TWN (Taiwan) device latest is 10C. You should really only use the version designed for your own device.
You're right. I didnt check that after being redirected here from rooted img thread. This software misleading stuff provided by LG is confusing. Sorry once again.
LG G4 H815 ®
when I flash the system.img I lose the exfat support for sdcard , I downgraded back to v10E with kdz flash and it fixed sdcard issue.
I will be very thankful to get 10F kdz
I think this way I won't lose exfat support .
Hey nechmadi,
i'm quite sure that any available KDZ is and will be listed here http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G4/ (link is from this thread). depending on what device you are using (it appears to me that there's a mess with version numbers among carriers etc... i'm using a no-carrier H815 international device) v10d/e* is the latest.
(sais v10d in UI, but v10e in build.prop)
my humble advice, stick with what you have, enjoy your sd card and just wait for future upgrades to see the light of day
edit:
hmm, i see 10f mentioned here.. i didnt get anything 10f related so far... since i'm using a dull no-carrier device i think that's where 'LG updates' arrive first? i'm fairly new to this whole ordeal so take anything i say with a grain of salt - however i'll stick to my previous statement. sit and wait
Hi,
So many of us are not happy with the oreo rom of Honor 8 Pro (C675). Those who looking forward to downgrade from Oreo to nougat just follow the steps. (This method is tested and is working. I just finished downgrading and is working perfectly fine. I just want to share this method with you guys. Also this i my first post in the forum. Some steps have been copied from a previous post by xfact)
Things you might need :-
>>A computer
>>At least 8GB memory card.
>>An unlocked bootloader. (you can relock it later)
>>Download the necessary files here :- [The Dload file was previously shared in this forum by xfact, but the link is not working now. Fortunately, I downloaded the file while it was available and I am providing the link to the google drive backup.]

>>Unzip the above-mentioned Dload file, then go to the folder, then software>dload folder and unzip the 'SDupdate_Package.tar.gz' with 7-Zip. It will extract another archived file called 'SDupdate_Package.tar'. Now unzip that too with 7-Zip and you will get a folder called 'dload' again.
>>Now take an SD card with at least 8 Gb of space, format it to exFAT. Paste the last 'dload' folder and all its contents at the root directory of that SD card. Put it into your phone.
>>To unlock the bootloader, just log into---- https***://***bit.ly/2uEEvdj
This is their chinese website, use translator in chrome to read in english.
Fill up the necessary details and you will get an unlock code for your device.
>>Follow the necessary steps to unlock your bootloader from here :- https***://***bit.ly/2uEM1F8
>>After unlocking the bootloader, your phone will be factory reset. When the phone boots up again, go to settings and enable USB Debugging from devoloper options.
>>Unzip the platform tools zip file and copy the Recovery file into that folder.( you have to unzip the platform tools file while unlocking the bootloader. Just copy the recovery image to that folder)
>>Holding the SHIFT key, right click any empty spaces in the folder and from the menu that appears, select "Open command window here"
>>Connect your handset. Ensure USB debugging prompt appeared as seen in the bootloader unlocking tutorial.
>>In the command window type the following commands :-
1. adb devices
(this is to make sure your device is connected properly)
2.adb reboot bootloader
(to put your device into fastboot mode)
3.fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk DUK-RECOVERY_RAMDISK_NoCheck.img
(to flash the recovery image)
4. fastboot reboot
>>When the device boots up, go to the dialer, type *#*#2846579#*#*
->Click on Software Upgrade -> SDcard upgrade->confirm.
Your phone will recognise the memory card with dload file in it. It will flash the rom. It will get stuck at 99% and shows error. Dont worry, just select reboot system option that appears on the screen.
You will be on the Nougat Rom
To relock the bootloader--
>>Again you have to enable USB debugging from devoloper options>>open command window from the platform tools folder>> execute the commands 1 and 2.
Then type the following command :-
fastboot oem relock *unlock key*
(replace *unlock key* with your unlock key used for bootloader unlock)
YOUR DEVICE WILL BE ON NOUGAT ROM WITH LOCKED BOOTLOADER
As this is my first post, kindly ignore the errors. Sorry if this lengthy post made any confusion. Hope this is helpful to all of you.
