Intro
this is a sources to by used by the rom builder's
and can not be as a module ,
I have ported EdgeGlow / Text Select Handeler animations to Froyo. Those cool animations are the unique adventage to use GB. Froyo is more speedy on many devices , and for x10 x10mini/pro and x8 , the camcoder is a real issue , and dont allow pepole to use GB , i share those sources for froyo as everything works in froyo , and is more smoother .

thank you for your I'll put this in my rom and obviously give you credits
to have some little hint (cause the complete framework source is uploaded)
for the text handle, what are the files modified?
Cause i'm interested only in the text selector, and not in the glow effect, what files I've to look at?
(textview.java I think, but also others? icons and so on? )

hy , the problem heare is similar files are tuched , what i sugest to you is that
just back up your framework / base/core , and add this , and after that add all the fix or specified devices files , this will not affect it , also just for the theme , this is a big problem , you need to update it with your but be carefull , maybe will release a separete versions , but not for now , but one feature more this will not kill the rom just make it better

The problem is that the code is very different from cyanogen one, cause I'm from AOSP, and added sources from CM7 and not CM6 ç__ç
Ill try with "diff" to see the various packages and see the differencies

ok loock at android/widget folder , specially , after that with the compilation erros , you can also find other relative files , just search on my sources " handle " and see with your sources , when ther is not present add the line etc ..

CM7.2 rom with stock SystemUI and framework-res?

Please...can someone provide stock CM7.2 rom without any modification in systemui and framework-res?
I ask this coz I would like to use Zdunes ICS layout, but every rom with CM7.2 i've tried doesn't work caused by modification in mentioned apk's.
I bought his ICS theme and it would be really nice to use it with his layout.
Can some of rom chefs help me out to get this working?

Porting miui/lewa status and hopes toward our dev

Hi Bro & Sis,
Frankly speaking,Im bit confused about MIUI & LEWA OS porting status for our x8 ether its agains of XDA Rules or not.As me understand its like this:
-Porting isnt wrong if somebody do it from own rom resource(based own rom).
-Any tutorial & other source is open to anybody to used it as long as proper credit given.
So,me didnt see any wrong of it and me also wondering are there any of our DEV who has a own rom willing to do it if its legal.
Yes,we have many roms(MIUI & LEWA) out there but its based on somebody else rom which is not promising for development(bug fixing,better performance etc) because as I know beside its remain ori bugs its also bring new bugs & little lag of performance.
If anybody has diff point of view please share it to help me be more clear about regarding issue.

Actually the reason why colossus keep on closing such thread in development its because of the failure to comply this rules. I dont see any hard part in following that rule. Let me simplify.
Now you want to mod or port ROM? Here are some checklist.
1. If you will be using a based ROM. Please make sure you have proper permission from the base ROM developer. THIS IS A MUST.
Now you have permission eh?
So you can start modding/porting the ROM.
What if I didnt get permission?
Dont worry you can still mod/port that ROM but please do not share it here. In short it applies only for personal use.
2. If you already done porting then create a thread in X8 Themes & Apps. If your rom becomes popular and you apply your own fix etc. Then please contact the MOD so that the ROM will be moved to Development Section. (Ofcourse it will still undergo screening if that would fit on the Dev Section.
Now guys what is the hard part understanding those Rules implied?

By your statement,me understand this;
Porting rules is a same as modding/theming rules(must be place in x8 theme sec.)
As I know,this rules is for someone who modding/theming based on others rom because ori Dev usually not modding/theming their own rom & open a new thread.
If they did or add/remove something,we can call it a next updates.
Its make sense if someone porting based on others but how about porting based on own roms?
For example;How about if nAa porting MIUI based on his MiniCM?
Should its must place in theme sec too?
BTW,its help me clear a bit thats porting based on somebody else rom is NOT agains XDA rules if you put in theme sec. with a permission & proper credit.thanks

i thinks the miui and lewa os remove because some warez or legal issue.
i agree that we can post rom with permission. but i think that miui os and lewa os is consider as theme bercause based from cm 7.1 or 7.2 etc. lasttime i saw ppl post that lewa os is theme ginger dx , meybe they need get permission.

Ofcourse it will be considered as development. If you based it with your own ROM then there is no issue since its yours. What are you confused about?

As stated no its not. Instead of posting the whole rom you can actually make a flashable zip on that tweak that you want to put.

[GUIDE] - █ How to port MIUI v4 to the Galaxy S II █ -

How to port MIUI v4 to the Galaxy S II:
This guide is pretty much this guide but more changed for the SGS2.
Note: This guide isnt complete yet and will be updated regularly!

STEP A:
1. First off youre going to want to choose base rom. I recommend official CM10!
2. Delete these folders from base and add them from MIUI:
- app (Delete NFC.apk, rom wont work if you dont delete this. And LegacyCamera.apk, add Gallery2.apk from base for camera.
- fonts
- framework
- media
3. Add these files from MIUI LIB folder to base:
- content-types.properties (Themes wont work without this)
- liblbesec.so (For LBE Guard - MIUI superuser)
- liblocSDK_2.5OEM.so (For baidu location service, prevents network location provider FC)
4. Add these files from MIUI ETC folder to base:
- yellowpage.db (Phone call ability)
- telocation.td (If your porting for Nexus S, telocation.db in others) (Location provider dependency)
5. Add these files from MIUI ETC/permissions folder:
- com.nxp.mifare.xml (I dont think its needed for the SGSII though since we dont have NFC)
- miui-framework.xml (Activates MIUI framwork, very important]
- com.google.android.media.effects.xml (For the gallery)
- com.google.widevine.software.drm.xml (Needed for Google apps)
- com.google.android.maps.xml (For Google Maps)
6. Add these files from MIUI XBIN folder to base:
- su (Superuser)
- invoke-as (Binary with near busybox and toolbox functionality. Needed everywhere in system, mostly in themes and SU]
7. Add these lines anywhere in build.prop:
ro.build.id=MIUI
ro.build.display.id=MIUI
ro.build.version.incremental=2.x.x <-- Change this to the android version of your base rom
ro.config.ringtone=MI.ogg
ro.config.notification_sound=FadeIn.ogg
ro.config.alarm_alert=GoodMorning.ogg
ro.config.sms_received_sound=FadeIn.ogg
ro.config.sms_delivered_sound=MessageComplete.ogg
8. Add these lines in your updater-script in META-INF/com/google/android:
set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/xbin/invoke-as");
set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/lib/liblbesec.so");
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/system/addon.d/70-gapps.sh");
# Add these lines under all other "set_perm" lines.
9. Now download GApps (http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip) and copy over /system folder from it to your rom. (Or else Google Now etc might not work)
STEP B (Framework changes to make the rom boot):

hey guys
so i worked on my rom for some days now and want to test it ...... as my phone has been taken away(too much textingSAD}
i cant test it!!!
so i need someone to test it for me ....
i will not be responsible for bricked devices or dead sdcard..........
pls thank me if the rom worked and if it didnot ...then i will take a look and when answering about the bug be more specific
i will be changing the boot animations and stuff but i just want to see if it works.....

I have done porting the old way and have taken some files like framework.res from the port and put it in the base..... I have not done major changes which will affect system...... I have done replacing of lib camera and lib audio and some folders in the etc.... No changes with the meta inf folder.... mostly it should work........ I will be doing a lot of work on themes and ram for better performance(will be taking out some bloatware) .....I will be changing boot animation...... But for now I want to test it.....
