Hello, guys I just got my G2 fixed by LG after I broke it. Well the thing is that before the new motherboard the software for my phone was shown as d80230a in the LG firmware page, but now it's d80230b. (the imei is new I think) Why is this happening? I'm not saying i have problems, but just wondering why. Thanks.

hello. i recently purchased lg g2. its back cover says d802 but on the inside it says d801/d803. so first idk what model it actually is. can u please help me figure out its model?
secondly after a firware upgrade through lg pc suite it got stuck on lg logo and wont move forward. it can enter download mode. idontknow much about software programming so i seeked help. i took it to repairs but the guy said someone flashed the wrong rom into ur phone as we cant determine which model it actually is so now you have to purchase new IC for your phone. so rom flashing wont fix the problem now i guess. please help me out whether i really have to change the ic or it can be solved through software fix. i would be really thankful for ur help.
Hi, I'm a new member in Xda, but i've been around for a while so I know that if there's a solution to my problem, it'd be probably coming from one of you guys, so thanks in advance ... !
So I bought a new Lg G2 a few days ago, it was in new condition, and both the label and rear cover tell it's a D802 version.
But I 've encountered some weird issues, first, when I type it's imei in imei.info it says it's A SIERRA WIRELESS device...
and lg's ota update center says it's not registered yet.
And yesterday when I tried to root via IOROOT25 method ( Because it's running kitkat 4.4.2) the recovery menu on the G2 shows some 80020c version on the top roght corner of the screen, which probably means it's a D800 model. (But on android info it says d802, and d80220c version....)
So I'd really appreciate some help from you guys, because I really want to root it, and maybe get Lollipop,
Will ioroot Brick it ?
And is there a way to save The Imei because that one feels a little weird and modified...
No one ?
Hi! Welcome to xda!?
I actually had a pretty similar problem on my own g2 (d802)
I bought it from aliexpress, my imei number showd it is a d800 model! But all other stuff in system showd d802..
The first thing you should do is open/ your back cover (there are instructions on YouTube) and check the real model, it sould be on the buttom left corner beneath the battery.
Mine showd it is ad802 but a friend of mine found out that his d802 was a fake one and he really got a d800 (allthough in system info ut showd d802! He bricked his device ?)
Anyways, if you see its a d802 you can use it with no fear i tried several roms on mine and all are perfect! Right now using cloudyg2 3.3 with dorimanx, and battery life is amazing!! ?
Oh and btw, ioroot didnt work for me, i also was on d80020c, but no fear! used stumproot and it worked flawlessly
Good luck! Tell me what you find out

Hello, I recently brought an LG G2 but what variant it was, the cover say LS980, the OS say D802 and I had some "name" like wifi hotspot name or phone name in chinese, and when I try to go in recovery to see what version I have (like for nexus 5) I can only do factory reset.
Thanks to help me

Well, this thread about refurbished phones says:
The only way to be 100% sure of your model is to remove the motherboard and check the number on the unit itself. While the IMEI, stamps and battery cover can all be modified or changed, the marking on the back of the motherboard cannot be so this method is the most reliable method of checking your model.
Hi guys,
I previously had a d800 whose main board got fried and after failing to get it repaired from several local repair shops i finally planned to get a completely new main board and got a d802 used board from a repair shop since i couldn't find a d800 board anywhere.
Now, the phone came with d80220b rom installed and it was working perfectly. Just for curiosity, i went into recovery through "adb reboot recovery" and the recovery said d803B20e (Bell Canada D803). I realized that the previous owner installed a d802 rom on d803.
Since, the rom didn't had knock code features (knock on/off worked perfectly), I flashed a D803B20G kdz to my phone with LGUP tool and it flashed without problems and the rom was working without problems.
Then, I searched internet on several imei info/data websites with my imei and they all listed my phone as D802 with releasing country as UAE (even on LG's own website). So, i thought that i got lucky that d803 rom accidentally worked without any issues and my phone really is a D802.
I again flashed a UAE D80220C kdz and it also flashed without problems, the rom also booted up fine but the touch started acting weird, touching someplace else would register the touch elsewhere.
So, my question is that is the imei and LG's website showing wrong that my phone is a d802 with UAE as origin country?
