Hi everyone,
I tried to update my phone about 5 days ago with the newest ROM- unfortunately I think a GAPPS download might've been corrupted so my phone didn't update to 5.1
I cleared and factory reset everything and reinstalled the ROM, GAPPS, SuperuserSU. It starts up and setup wizard begins, but as soon as I try to type my password for wifi, the microphone comes on and it crashes.
Now I'm in the process of trying ADB (I have a Mac), but USB debugging mode isn't on (or at least my computer isn't recognizing the device). I'm at wit's end trying to come up with solutions. Any help?

I'm having one heck of a problem here. So I've got my Nexus 7, on stock Android, but rooted and unlocked.
I wanted to try Paranoid Android, so I installed the TeamWin Recovery using the Nexus Root Toolkit, then flashed the ROM and wiped cache/dalvik. I tried to boot into the new ROM, but it just stayed on the boot animation. So I looked up the issue, and the solution seemed to be return to stock Android, then flash Paranoid Android again.
So I tried to use the 'Flash Stock and unroot functionality' of the Nexus Root Toolkit, which proceeded fine until the copying of 'system' onto the device... This lasted for about an hour without progress, so I decided to try again with a different version of stock Android. This too didn't work.
So then I (foolishly) rebooted the tablet. But when I got back to fast boot, it didn't show up in Windows (on either of the two machines I have here, and with two cables that have both worked previously, in multiple USB ports). The specific error is that it shows up as an unknown device (which is fine) but also in the device manager there is error 43, which states that the USB has malfunctioned so it has stopped.
For that reason, it's impossible for me to connect it to a computer or even re(install) the proper drivers for it. And as it doesn't have a working OS, i can't get to ADB either. So right now I can't think of anything that will work - no fast boot, no recovery, no connection to a PC.
Any ideas?
Really, no ideas? Come on XDA Developers, you're my only hope <3

Hi guys,
I have a massive problem.
I recently updated to 4.3 rooted etc, after a few days of not using my nexus 7 on the pc I wanted to flash a new rom.
Now my N7 is only shown as an "Unknown Device" in my Device Manager.
I tried to deinstall Drivers, install, everything, I tried every possibilty in Wug's toolkit, nothing worked. I also tried it on another Notebook where i have never connected any mobile device, same message and i'm not able to install the drivers.
I also tried several ports and cables(the original one included)
Here is the message:http://i.imgur.com/tgxOeZQ.jpg
Translation: The optimal driver software for your device is already installed.
After this I flashed back to 4.2.2 (downloaded the rom on my N7) while performing a normal factory reset, I can't wipe everything because then I am not able to flash anything.
So after flashing to 4.2.2 my N7 was shown as a portable device in my device-manager. I then turned on USB-Debugging to stock+unroot, it was then shown again as a Unknown device, in both modes, USB-Debugging turned Off and On.
So now my question, is there a solution to this? I searched for possibilites to get back to stock without USB but most of them were a bit sketchy or had dead links. Please help me (sorry for my bad english)
Edit:
I just the cable of my old Motorola Defy, and it randomly connects and disconnects(still shown as unknown), so basically I think it is possible that my USB plug is broken(it takes about 6 hours to load the battery which I think might be as well a reason for a broken USB plug).
But to send it back to Google I need to Stock Unroot first so here my problem is again!
greetings
Hello. i noticed that my computer(win 8.1) was giving a usb device not recognized error a few days ago. i didn't fix and eagerly updated to android 4.4.3, but forgot to disable freedom and now can't use google play services. i can fix that but the DAMN PHONE STILL ISN'T RECOGNIZABLE BY THE DAMN COMPUTER. i have tried multiple cables and installed win 8 dual boot but still got the same error. i also tried to reinstall drivers. but i think i didnot do it right.
both adb and fastboot are not working. if u could tell me a method to install a custom recovery without root and adb that would sove half my problems but still need help getting the computer to recognized the phone.
Normally this is a problem with charging block of the phone.
You have to root to flash recovery without a computer, towelroot works on 4.4.3. Once rooted you can use goomanager app to flash twrp recovery.
Does the PC making sound of connected I disconnected continually?
Dear people,
Aparently yesterday I installed the wrong Kernel (Hells Doctor) in my nexus 4, so I couldnĀ“t get wifi. Since then, everything has gone wrong. I installed Nexus Toolkit, but everything was dependant on having the drivers installed at my PC. I tried all driver installation methods suggested in the Toolki: unistalling driver, installing from Google and other places, erasind the USB drivers and installing them again, MTP on/off, debugging on/off, but no sucess. I tried to flash another ROM (SlimRom Mako) on my phone directly, but couldnĀ“t install, it would give error 7 as if it were the image of another mobile phone.
I have tried reflashing, changing the kernel, etc, but now I end in a bootloop were it reboots always into the recovery mode, no matter what I do.
I would greatly appreciate any solution!
Thanks!!
So what exactly is the problem? Cant you connect your device to your pc or cant you flash any rom? Did you already do a full wipe and go with the factory image?
Hi!
My Nexus Player was rooted, but this was messed up by a recent OTA update (not the current 7.1.1, but the last one before that I guess), after which I factory reset it. I don't really remember if I tried connecting it to my PC then or do something else. A while later I tried rerooting with Nexus Root Toolkit, but there were some issues with the ADB drivers I think, it didn't maintain a connection with the computer during fastboot. It also kept resetting the USB default to charging (I chose MTP, but it just kept switching back by itself). So I took a break for a while and now it won't connect to my computer at all except for a brief moment while booting. All during this I've tried different cables and actually two more computers, but the issue persists. The bootloader is still unlocked and factory resets don't help. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?
Best regards,
Mikk
re enable debugging? The flip back to Charging from MTP is by design I think...as is the inability to shut off auto update. Google trying to save us from ourselves. Have you flashed twrp? I found the only way to see the player on the desktop was when booted in twrp. Otherwise, like you , it appeared the player wasn't connected. I do believe I was still connected as a fastboot device though.
I haven't bothered to re root as my SD card is supported and kodi installed from the play store removing any need to sideload or file explorer my way to install apps. I have found the 7.1.1. update to be solid/stable with no issues.
